"Grinding is one of the most energy consuming unit operations and is also a very inefficient and costly process. Therefore, it is of great importance to run the grinding process as efficiently as possible. The most common way today to control grinding processes is by measuring the power draw of the mill and try to keep it at a maximum level. However, some studies (Kawatra, 1989, Koivistoinen, 1989, Moys, 1989) have shown that this measurement doesn.t reflect everything that takes place inside a mill. Among other parameters like slurry rheology, temperature and charge behaviour, the volumetric filling of a grinding mill seems to have a large influence on the grinding efficiency (Herbst, 1988, Koivistoinen, 1992, Vermeulen, 1988). A problem in attempting to measure those parameters has been to get a sensor that is both robust and sensitive enough for continuous on-line measurement.This paper presents a method for the measurement of the apparent filling level in a pilot ball mill equipped with the Metso Continuous Charge Measurement system (CCM). In this technique a strain gauge sensor is mounted on a flat steel spring which is fitted into a recess underneath a lifter bar. In addition, a conductivity probe, the Boliden Grinding Measurement System (GMS), is mounted in another lifter bar with the purpose of comparing the two measurements. To visualise the behaviour of the charge a DEM modelling technique is used.The results indicate that the system is capable of following the normal variation that occurs in the mill. The signal also very well reflect changes in operating variables such as ball charge level, pulp density and rotational speed. By studying the nature and different features of the signal one can get a better understanding of milling circuit dynamics. Another feature of the technique is the possibility for an operator to continuously follow the grinding process and thereby run the process under optimal conditions."

The constant of flotation velocity is the value characterizing the kinetics of cyclic flotation. In the statistical theory of flotation its value is the function of probabilities of collision, adhesion and tearing off the grain from the air bubble. The grain ? air bubble collision plays a key role since there must be a prior collision before the grain ? air bubble adhesion happens. The probability of such an event to occur is proportional to the relation of the grain diameter to the bubble diameter. When the grain sizes are given, it is possible to control the value of collision probability by means of the size of air bubbles. Consequently, it is significant to find the effect of physical and physicochemical factors upon the diameter of air bubbles in the form of a mathematical dependence. In the pneumo-mechanical flotation machine the air bubbles are generated by the blades of the rotor. The dispergation rate is affected by, among others, the rotor rotational speed, the amount of air transported to the flotation chamber an time and the liquid surface tension, depending on the type and number of applied flotation reagents. In the proposed paper the authors will present the distribution of air bubble diameters on the grounds of the above factors, according to the laws of thermodynamics. The correctness of the de-rived dependences will be verified empirically.

A sulfate reducing bacteria strain (named SRB-A) is isolated from sanitary wastewater by using anaerobic technology of Hungate. The studies of physiological, biochemical and phylogenic of the isolated strain are carried out. The colonies of the strain are circle. Cells that are slightly curve, rod-shaped with the size of 1.0~3.0µm in length and 0.8~1.0µm in width. The optimum temperature for growth of the organism is 30~35°C. The optimum pH for growth is 7.0~7.2. Strain SRB-A can use sodium lactate, sodium citrate, sodium acetate, ethanol and acetone as electronic acceptor but can not use glycerol, glucose, sucrose and sodium oxatate. The isolated strain reduces sulfate, sulfide, sulfur, DSMO and FeCl3, then nitrate and nitrite can not be used. The strain has higher tolerance of NaCl, and the optimum growth occurs in the presence of 5%~8% (w/v) NaCl. The result of 16S rDNA sequence analysis indicates that the isolated strain SRB-A is the most similar to Desulfo-vibrio halophilus, and the level of the similarity was 98.4%. The isolated strain has a stronger ability to reduce sulfate, and the level of sulfate reduction reaches about 90% at pH 7 in the liquid medium. 0.6 to 0.8 is the optimum COD/SO42- in the medium for the isolated strain to show better ability to reduce sulfate. At pH 2.5 the level of removal of Cu2+ reaches 96.3%. Under the condition of pH 3.5, the level of removal of Zn2+ reaches 92.6%. When the value of pH reaches about 7, the Fe3+ is precipitated by the formation of Fe(OH)3, and Fe3+ is removed up to 89.4% at last.

The beneficiation test on low grade phosphate ore from a state of Russia is carried out. The rougher-cleaner ? re-cleaner system is used in the flotation process, The fineness of grind is 39.07% minus 200 mesh. The result indicates that concentrate containing 31.25% P2O5 can be obtained from the flotation feed assaying 6.18% P2O5, with 93.54% P2O5 recovery. The test result is also a guideline for further development of some currently operated phosphate beneficiation plants.

Extensive exploration for uranium metal by the Department of Atomic Energy in India led to the discovery of new carbonate host rock uranium deposits Tummalapalle and Gogi, which are located in southern part of India. Alkaline leaching at elevated temperature and pressure using autoclave is the central unit process in the overall strategy for extraction of uranium from these new ore deposits. Autoclave leaching is affected largely by intrinsic nature of the ore and by the process variables and the equipment settings. In order to understand such a complex process and also to be able to predict the process performance under randomly (ore grade, uranium mineralogy, gangue mineralogy etc.) and consciously perturbed variable settings (partial pressure of oxygen, temperature, concentration of leachant, stirring speed and time), sound and robust mathematical models are needed with analytical and/or numerical solutions. Present investigation attempts to develop a variant of kinetic correlation based on shrinking core model for batch alkaline leaching process in an autoclave. The leaching model incorporates particle size distribution according to popular Gates-Gaudin-Schuhmann equation, rather than assuming a single mean size for all the particles participating in the leaching reaction. Kinetic experimental data generated in autoclave leaching of Gogi uranium ore was used to evaluate various constants of the model developed. The ore sample used for experiments assayed 0.21 per cent U3O8. The partial pressure of oxygen was varied between 0.15 to 6.5 atm, temperature from 343 K to 438 K, concentration of sodium carbonate leachant in the range 0.47 g mol/L to 0.94 g mol/L, and the stirring speed from 573 rev/min to 900 rev/min in the experiments. The goodness of fit of the leaching process model is found to be >0.95. Morphological studies carried out on leached and unleached particulate matter using Scanning Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive X ray analyses are included in the present study.

Problems of sudden outbursts of rock and gas present in deep mine mining ones of the most complicated interrogation. It is searching for the methods of prediction and prognosis that can be most useful for the government of these phenomena. Till now the pressure and the desorption of gas in bore holes was consider to be the decisive criteria. By the work of authors with using of statistical date was verify that for considerable reliability of forecast and prevent outbursts is necessity investigate characteristics of workplace and other indicators. These indicators were analyzing and assemblage into mathematical dependences which represent active and passive force asserting with in the process of rush. It was validated by using the equations which are presented in the manuscript that the accuracy of pre-diction of the phenomena is higher and methods of preventions are better also.

"Geo-sensing is the ability to routinely measure or infer rock properties at a range of scales using non-destructive scanning devices. These devices can provide information and data flows to support integrated decision making across the minerals value chain. Geo-sensing has been used for many years in minerals exploration using technologies such as satellite imaging and airborne geophysics but to date the use of sensing technologies in between the mine and mill has been very limited. The aim of this research is to develop new mineral sensing technologies that can enable grade engineered ore streams through the rejection of low value gangue or deleterious elements either in the pit or during transfer to the mill. This paper focusses on the research and development being carried out by the Cooperative Research Centre for Optimising Resource Extraction (CRC ORE) and its associated members on new sensing technologies. At the start of their development these technologies were classified on the Technology Readiness Level scale at 3 (TRL3), equivalent to a proof of concept. Laboratory testing and design is aimed at progressing these sensing technologies to TRL5 which is ready for testing at an end users site. New data obtained during the laboratory testing and design phases are presented in the paper demonstrating performance specifications such as detection limits and measurement speed which can be used to infer the pod size of gangue that can be rejected at scale. Grade Engineering® and coarse gangue rejection are considered as key drivers for the mining industry to address the higher mining, processing and environmental costs associated with ore bodies with declining grades. This is an industry wide problem and the development of mineral sensors is seen as key enabling technologies for Grade Engineering® and coarse gangue rejection. The technologies presented in this paper enhance value through early decision making of ore quality and improve the overall resource value case through improved grade and throughput engineering."

Deposit of Jinbaoshan platinum group metals (PGMs) ore ranks the second in Yunnan province, China. Study on process mineralogy shows that the grade of copper and nickel in the ore is just 0.16% and 0.20% respectively. Moreover, the impurities magnesium and iron and silicon are rich in the ore. The copper and nickel sulfides in the ore, especially the minerals of PGMs, are finely disseminated with the gangues like serpentine. Fine grinding is necessary, and high content of MgO in the concentrate is inevitable through traditional flotation technology on the basis of process mineralogy studies. Achievements on process mineralogy studies are applied to guide the flotation tests successfully. Progress on flotation has been made through comprehensive studies. Suitable grinding by two stages is required for the finely disseminated PGM sulphide ore to achieve the liberation of valuable minerals. Stage grinding and stage separation shall be conducted for a better recovery of valuable minerals. The oxidation state of mineral surface of sulphides has a profound effect on flotation of the ultra-fine sulphides, especially the pentlandite. The combined use of collectors enhances the selective collecting on the ultra-fine and low-grade valuable minerals, is of critical importance.

Kaolin clay is used as a filler and pigment in various applications such as paper, paint, rubber, plastics, adhesives, ink and ceramics etc. Major mineral content in crude kaolin clay is kaolinite along with some accessory minerals as quartz, hematite, mica, feldspar, anatase, rutile, illemnite etc. The Fe and Ti bearing minerals play very important role in determining quality of the kaolin, as these minerals impart yellow, pink or darker color to the white kaolin. Conventional beneficiation methods used in kaolin processing are de-gritting, classification and sodium dithionite bleaching, which improves the optical properties of kaolin, wherein reduction of color imparting constituents such as Fe2O3 and TiO2 is marginal. In the present study, these coloring impurities are separated using selective adsorption of water-soluble polymers. Degritted kaolin samples after passing through 45 micron sieve is used in the study for selective flocculation by polyacrylamide based polymers. The effect of pH, zeta potential, and polymer dose on the reduction of impurities is studied. Analytical tools such as XRF, XRD, SEM, and TEM techniques are utilized and results are discussed in detail.

"The paper presents a analysis of the history and the trends of development of flotation apparatus. The laws of their evolution are stated and the place and role of column flotation are indicated. It is demonstrate development and different design of column apparatus. The major parameters of column cell such as diameter and height are discussed. Options are proposed on optimization of hydrodynamic characteristics of columns with large-capacity cells. High efficiency of columns with cell height of 4-6 m is shown on examples of coal preparation. A new generation of multi sectional column cells has been developed. In the cells are zones with different aerohydrodynamic parameters: combined in the machine are co-and counter- counter flows of phases. The transition from single-chamber column to multi-sectional apparatus makes it possible to create favourable hydrodynamic and aeration regimes in each section of the column dependent on the pattern of material distribution by floatability. Efficiency of application different designs column apparatus uses shown on the example of enrichment of various non-ferrous metals ores and coal. The principles of mathematical simulation of the flotation process are developed. A scaling-up procedure for column cells was based on flotation macro- and micro- dynamics simulation.INTRODUCTIONColumn flotation is considered to be one of the most significant achievement in the field of mineral processing in the end of last century. We cannot but agree with this statement but would like to understand what underlies this success. History of the flotation column can not be considered in isolation from the development of flotation apparatus on the whole. It can be argued that the first attempt to switch from oil flotation to the use of bubbles during flotation was performed Bessel brothers in 1877 (Berlin patent 42 class 22, July 2) and in 1886 (Berlin patent 39,369 May 12). According to these patents, the crushed ore was mixed with oils , hydrocarbons and water. Then the pulp received in this way was heated up to boiling . Air bubbles and steam formed during boiling facilitate the flotation of ore particles coated with oil (first patent) or bubbles been generated by the reaction of lime with acid (second patent). The evolution in the design of the flotation apparatus incorporates the following key stages. Further development is connected with the Francis Elmore’s idea to use gas bubbles received at water electrolysis (UK, 13578; 1904). This method was not introduced then, but much later, in our time and on the essentially new technical basis it found a use for sewage treatment (electroflotation). Gas bubbling under vacuum patented also by Elmore (UK, 17816; 1904) obtained a practical use. It should be noted that the method did not lose its importance till now. The design of the camera has been surely optimized (Glembotskii etal, 1963). A year later A. Macquisten (UK, 26712) developed pressure (compression) flotation. Thus, the H.Sulman, H.Picard, D. Bell’s (US, 853120, May 29, 1905) basic patent and the adjoining T. Goover’s patent 1910 (US, 953746) formed the basis of the first and most important element of modern flotation: flotation with air bubbles sucked in from the environment. In 1914, J.Callow received a patent for on an apparatus where air was sparged through the porous false bottom of the cell ( US, 1104755). Woolen fabric folded four times was fixed on a perforated metal frame to be used for air sparging (Gaudin, 1932). The following year Durrel created the prototype of the injection (ejector) apparatus. The jet aerator made it possible to significantly reduce the size of the bubbles, in comparison with the filter cloth. An apparatus with slurry pre-aeration in an airlift prior to feeding into separation cell was developed Wagner in 1917 (US, 1235083). And finally, the first column apparatus with a counter-current of slurry and air was developed by M. Towne and S. Flynn in 1919(US, 1,295,817). ("

The life cycle assessment method is applied to investigate the environmental impacts of cop-per-slag and copper-ore concentration process. Some environmental load data of copper production are obtained. The result indicates that damage level of human health, ecosystem quality and re-sources respectively is 0.174, 0.0203, 0.246 in the copper-slag concentration and 0.112, 0.0136, 0.299 in the copper-ore concentration. Environmental impact of copper-slag production (0.44) is more than that of copper-ore production (0.42), but can meet the environmental protect demand. With domestic copper concentrate supply gap enlarging, recovering copper from slag will lead to a significant improving of resource utilization and development of circulation economics.

In this paper the possibility to complete the copper recovery and to enrich in PVC a mixture of plastic granules obtained by grinding electrical cables are investigated. The recovery of a large part of the copper still present among the plastic granules was possible by means of a mechanical screening, the finer polymeric fraction was collected, at the same time. In order to complete the copper polymer separation the following techniques were employed. Counter current separation in water, static dense medium separation with zinc chloride solution and copper extraction with nitric acid and subsequent electrolytic deposition. A Tri-Flo® dynamic dense medium separator was employed in order to separate the lighter polymeric fraction, from the heavier polymeric fraction, mainly PVC. Water or a salt-water solution was employed to feed the separator device.

In 1951, Tata Steel became the pioneer in Asia by setting up its first ever washery in West Bokaro Colliery. The first beneficiation plant used to produce clean coal of 19% ash with chance cone. Feed size of chance washers were -75 mm to +6 mm. The fine coal (-6 mm) were used directly. With change in technology,in 1986,chance cones were replaced by DM cyclones and coal was washed in two circuits. In the coarse circuit -13 mm to +0.5 mm coal was washed in two stages while the fine coal of -0.5 mm was treated in froth floatation cell. With further improvement in the process the higher ash raw coal was feed to produce clean coal of 13% ash. In 1998, DSM cyclones were replaced by scrolled Evolute design cyclone which has Ep of 0.020 to 0.025 ranges resulting in increase efficiency of separation. With the increase in demand of clean coal, lower seam proportion has increased in raw coal production. The washability studies of individual seams indicated large difference in the seam characteristics in terms of washability and specific gravity cut points of the individual seams. So washing all seams together had resulted in frequent change in the character of coal and warrants frequent changes in the operating parameters of the plant in which the separating efficiency comes down and ultimately resulted in yield loss initially. With increase in knowledge and experience in coal washing the solution to this problem was achieved by adopting, seam-wise washing which is enabling process engineers by keeping set point for longer periods there by to enhance the separation efficiency. This paper presents BF flotation machines in brief which are manufactured by Beijing General Research Institute of Mining & Metallurgy (BGRIMM). Dimensional analysis and similarity criteria have been used to scale up BF flotation machines. These scale-up criteria can be used to determine mechanical structure and hydrodynamic parameters including mixing, solids suspension, air transfer and power and so on. Similarity criteria are used to design 40m3 flotation machine being based on data from 1.2 m3 to 20 m3 flotation machines. Hydrodynamic tests of 40 m3 flotation machine in water are discussed.

Loussavaara-KiirunavaaraAB?s (LKAB) iron ore mine, Kiirunavaara, is of magnetite type and associated with apatite, a calcium phosphate mineral. Rare earth elements (REE) have been found in connection with the apatite but also in other minerals. An apatite concentrate was produced by flotation, in order to investigate the possibilities to extract REE from the apatite by hydrometallurgical means. The content of rare earth elements calculated as oxides (REO) was 0.44% in the concentrate. Initially, leaching was done with large excess of sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, and nitric acid to study the REE solubility with different acids. In sulfuric acid, the leaching recoveries of the different REE varied between 35% and 69%. The reasons for the relative low recoveries, were that the rare earth elements precipitated together with huge amounts of gypsum, that was formed during leaching. However, both hydrochloric- and nitric acid gave almost complete extraction of the REE into solution. Analysis of the small leaching residue obtained, revealed, that mainly the light REE remained in the residue indicating that a small part of the light REE were present in the concentrate, in some acid, insoluble mineral other than apatite. With the aim to separate the REE from the phosphoric acid, the solutions from hydrochloric- and nitric acid leaching were neutralized to a pH of approximately 2 with ammonia. During neutralization, REE were precipitated as phosphates with good recoveries and a concentrate of 10.5% REO suitable for further upgrading was obtained, while the remaining solution can be used for fertilizer production. In further solvent extraction studies, it was shown, that after re-dissolution the REE could be effectively extracted by Cyanex 923, thus allowing for purification from calcium and phosphate ions. "The effect of ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (EDTA) on flotation separation of fluorite from bastnaesite and its selectively depression mechanism on fluorite were studied by single mineral flotation, artificial mixed minerals flotation, solution chemistry analyses, Zeta potential and XPS measurements.The results show that fluorite can be deeply depressed by EDTA while the flotation of bastnaesite is almost unaffected when octanohydroxamic acid (OHA) is used as a collector. The separation index (SI) between bastnaesite and fluorite increases with the dosage of EDTA, SI can be raised from 1.18 to 12.66 when EDTA dosage increases from 0 to 2×10-3mol/L.Solution chemistry analyses show that EDTA is able to convert the Ca(OHA)2 hydrophobic precipitation on fluorite surface to a soluble Ca-EDTA complex but cannot complexly dissolve the Ce(OHA)3 precipitation on bastnaesite surface. Therefore, the Zeta potential of OHA conditioned fluorite can be reduced significantly by EDTA while the reduction degree to Zeta potential of bastnaesite is relatively low. XPS measurement shows that EDTA removes the chemically adsorbed OHA from fluorite surface but has little effect on the adsorbed OHA on bastnaesite surface. As a result, fluorite can be selectively depressed by EDTA in bastnaesite flotation, which behaves an important industrial application prospect in rare earth ore flotation.INTRODUCTIONNowadays, Rare earth elements (shortened as RE) and compounds are of significant importance for a range of rapidly expanding industrial applications including catalysis, metallurgy, renewable energy, and special materials due to their unique electrical, magnetic, optical and chemical properties [1]. The seventeen RE elements, including the lanthanide-group fifteen elements, yttrium and scandium, could be divided into three groups, i.e., light, medium and heavy RE elements based on the different solubility of RE sulfates [2]. Bastnaesite ((Ce,La)CO3), containing approximately 75% REO, is one of the most important light RE minerals [3]. Flotation is the common method to recover basetnaesite [4-6]. Nonetheless, basetnaesite is often associated with calcium-bearing gangue minerals such as fluorite, and the separation of basetnaesite and fluorite by flotation is usually difficult due to their similar surface properties and therefore floatability [7-9]. Therefore, research on high selective flotation reagents of bastnaesite over gangue minerals has attracted a lot of attention [10]."

Considering the main idea of the paper, namely that the interaction energy of reagents serves as a criterion used for their selection, as well as due to their insufficient study, the authors have therefore considered studying the aspects of computer modelling and molecular dynamics of largely used collectors for the flotation of nonferrous and precious metal ores. Three-dimensional molecular models for sulphydric reagents have been created, studying as well the distribution of the partial charges on their atoms. It has been shown that the value of the partial charge on the phosphorus atom in diethyldithiophosphinate and diethylmonothiophosphinate is high positive. The value of the partial charge of the sulphur atom is negative, strengthening its bond with the metal cations from the mineral surface. The molecular orbitals for the sulphydric reagents have been created determining as well the energy of their level. The computer modelling key parameters have therefore been defined. The new reagents have been tested for gold, copper and rhenium ore flotation. Gold recovery has increased with 4.2 - 4.7 %, copper recovery with 3.3 % and rhenium recovery with 15.5 %. A number of new flotation reagents have been recommended, such as: diethyldithiophosphate, (C2H5)2NCH2CH2OC(S)SNa, (C4H9NH)2P (S)SNa and also (C2H5)2P(S)ONa and (C2H5)2 P(O)S Na. Impeller speed and air flow rate are two influence parameters on coarse particles flotation and collision and attachment angles. So, in this research recovery of quartz particles at four diameter classes carried out and collision and attachment angles investigated. It is found that maximum flotation response was observed at Impeller speed of 1100 rpm and 15 L/h air flow rate. For either more quiescent (Impeller speed<1100 rpm) or more turbulent conditions, flotation recovery decreased steadily. Furthermore, amount of attachment probabilities is calculated using suitable equation. According to this study, with decreasing particle size, air flow rate and impeller speed, probability of attachment increased and with increasing contact angle, probability of attachment increased. For various air flow rates, impeller speed and particle size, collision angle has been calculated. Maximum collision angle obtained at with 15 L/h air flow rate, particle size of 256 µm and impeller speed of 700 rpm and minimum collision angle obtained at with 45 L/h air flow rate, particle size of 545µm and impeller speed of 1300 rpm. The present paper highlights on the comminution and liberation properties of two greisen-type lithium bearing-mica ore blends (L1, L2) subjected to different breakage devices; cone crusher (CC), roller crusher (RC), rotor beater mill (RBM) and a screen mill (SM). The particle size distribution (PSD) of the products from each device were evaluated to search for an appropriate PSD model using Gates-Gaudin-Schuhmann (GGS) and Rosin-Rammler (RR) functions. In order to determine an appropriate function that could better describe the PSDs from the devices used, the coefficient of determination (R2) was used as a criterion. In terms of mineral liberation studies, due to costs, only products from rotor beater mill (RBM) were examined through an automated scanning electron microscope (SEM) technique. It was found that RBM, RC and SM products were better described by the RR model than the GGS model with higher R2 values (0.97-1.0). However, cone crusher products for L1 were better described by GSS model, while that for L2 were better described by RR model. In terms of the spread of size distribution as indicated by RR model parameters, RC products were more uniformly distributed compared to products from other devices, for both ore blends. Also the RBM products were more scattered than products from other devices. The results indicate that the composition of individual ore blends affected the comminution products PSDs since different PSD model parameters were obtained for samples comminuted by same devices. The modal mineralogy of the two ore blends indicate both to be rich in quartz, topaz, zinnwaldite and muscovite. Further, the result indicate that, for both ore blends, zinnwaldite phase is more enriched in the fraction < 250 µm. Moreover, better liberation of zinnwaldite is observed for L1 compared to L2. This could be explained by differences of the two ore blends in three aspects; the nature of mineral association, reduction ratio of the fractions analysed and the nature of spread of the size distribution.

LKAB (Luossavaara-Kiirunavaara AB) is operating iron ore mines, concentration plants and pelletizing plants in Northern Sweden. The largest of the apatite magnetite deposits and the mines are Kiirunavaara with annual production rate of approximately 27 Mt crude ore underground. LKAB produces two varieties of pellets: blast furnace pellets and direct reduction pellets (LKAB DR Oxide Pellets). Meanwhile the concentration process in a sequence of the low intensity magnetic separation (LIMS) and flotation at the concentration plant. In spring 2007 there were noticed great fluctuations of SiO2 grade in the crude ore. The high SiO2 grade is particularly problematic in the case of direct reduction pellets. In consequence, a project was started (called Silica in the Mine) to define exactly the problem related with silica and to find out, if possible, the reason for the great fluctuation of SiO2 grade in the crude ore going to the processing plant. A further target of this project was to develop a simplified method at the laboratory scale, to predict SiO2 grade in the magnetite concentrate in the future, but also predict the physical properties of the ore with respect to mineral processing. The essential stage of systematic characterization of the ore body for mineral processing properties is the estimation and simulation of different parameters from the laboratory scale to the large scale at the concentration plants using empirical data collected at the mineral processing by LKAB in Kiruna. Further a target was also to find useful physical parameters for mineral processing and implant those parameters into the existing geological 3D-model of the deposit. This information will be used for making prognosis of the future mining and the quality of the crude ore. It will also give better control and improve the production planning in the mine and the performance at the concentration plant in Kiruna concerning the decrease of the SiO2 grade of the magnetite concentrate.
