"High pressure vapor/solid reactions offer an opportunity for novel synthesis and processing of thin film materials and structures for electronic, optical, and magnetic applications. In this paper we review the use of two high pressure techniques that operate from 25 to 1000 atm (2.5 to 100 MPa) to fabricate thin film oxide structures from Si1-xGex deposited on Si wafers. High pressure synthesis enables temperature-independent control of reaction rates in the oxidation of this multicomponent semiconductor system and hence offers the opportunity to form thennodynamically metastable Si1-xGex<h from the alloy. The thermodynamics of the Si-Ge-0 system are reviewed and a method is described that utilizes selective chemical reduction (via H2 gas) of Si1-xGcx<h to form Ge precipitates in an SiO2 matrix. IntroductionAlloys of Si1-xGex grown epitaxially on Si substrates by chemical vapor deposition (CYD) and molecular beam epitaxy (MBE) have been used to create high performance microelectronic devices1. These devices show improved performance over conventional Si technology because they exploit the Si/Si 1-xGex band-gap discontinuity and take advantage of higher hole mobilities in the Ge containing alloys. While a range of devices based on heteroepitaxial systems have been demonstrated, the Si1_xGex alloys are of particular interest because they are most closely compatable with standard Si device processing. One disadvantage of Si-based materials systems is that they are not typically useful emitters of light. This is important since the use of light (rather than electrons) for transmitting and processing signals into, out of, and within Si-based microelectronics would represent a major technological advance in microelectronics-based communication and computer technologies. Nevertheless, through the use of innovative processing techniques it may be possible to use the Si1_xGex/Si heteroepitaxial system in integrated microelectronic/light-wave technologies."

"The paper presents new theoretical and experimental results about mechanisms of disintegration of mineral complexes and structural transformations of the sulfide surface under high-power nanosecond electromagnetic pulses (HPEMP). The heated gas outflow from nanosecond breakdown channels of sulfide minerals under HPEMP is considered. It is shown that the gas outflow from channels can be an additional destructive factor in the processes of the electric pulse discharge disintegration of mineral complexes. It is shown that the effect of HPEMP changes chemical surface composition and, respectively, technological properties of pyrrhotite and pentlandite. Morphology and elementary composition of new micro- and nanoformations on mineral surface of pentlandite and pyrrhotite have been investigated using up-to-date methods of SEM/EDX and Scanning Probe Microscopy. Preliminary electropulse effect on mineral products before flotation allows producing optimal conditions for flotation separation of pentlandite and pyrrhotite owing to forming the new nanophases and defects on the surface of sulfides.IntroductionThe effectiveness of High-Power Nanosecond Pulses in the disintegration and liberation of fine disseminated mineral complexes and the recovery of micro- and nanoparticles of precious metals from refractory ores was demonstrated in [1, 2]. Possible mechanisms of selective disintegration were considered in [1-3]. It has been shown both theoretically and experimentally that electric breakdowns can play an important role in the nanosecond pulsed treatment of milled minerals (e.g., semiconductor sulfides and quartz with particle sizes of 100 µm to 2-3 mm) that are carriers of finely disseminated gold and other valuable components. Electric discharges in such minerals are accompanied by a destruction of integrity in the form of breakdown channels and the formation of a system of cracks around these channels [3]. The development of the domains of induced cracks around the channels is determined by the pressure of evaporated material in the breakdown channel. Upon an instantaneous energy release in a channel (nanosecond discharges), the change in its transverse size and in the gas density and pressure in the channel is determined by (i) the radial motion of the evaporation wave, (ii) the radial expansion of the channel, and (iii) the heated gas outflow from the channel. The evaporation wave moves with a speed on the same order of magnitude as the speed of sound (or greater) and travels a distance of around the initial channel radius, i.e., a much smaller distance than the breakdown channel length."

"High-pressure grinding roll (HPGR) technology was evaluated to replace tertiary cone crushing at Coeur Rochester operations (Coeur Rochester Inc.) as an opportunity to improve silver recovery. In 2016 and 2017, onsite and third-party pilot programs were initiated to evaluate the impact on metallurgical recovery and heap leach performance of crushed product generated by an HPGR. In 2018, Forte Dynamics evaluated the HPGR laboratory metallurgical data from Coeur Rochester and all third parties to develop field-scale leach curves based on new crushing scenarios. The laboratory recovery test work data were consolidated and scaled to field conditions to determine projected heap leach performance. Based on the metallurgical testing conducted, the replacement of current tertiary cone crushers with HPGR technology has the potential to increase Coeur Rochester’s silver recovery rate by 8 percentage points, from 61 percent to 69 percent, and shorten the overall timing of silver recoveries from 20 years to just more than two years.The Rochester Mine, and associated valley fill heap leach facilities is an openpit silver and gold mine located in Pershing County, NV, approximately 42 km (26 miles) northeast of the city of Lovelock. In 2017, Rochester produced approximately 4.7 million oz silver (Ag) and 51,000 troy oz gold (Au). Ore mined at Rochester is either fed directly to the primary X-Pit crusher, crushed at an in-pit crusher system, or placed directly onto a heap leach pad as run-of-mine (ROM). Both crushing circuits are comprised of three stages of crushing to produce a nominal 3/8 in. ore. Primary crushing consists of jaw crushing while secondary and tertiary crushing are composed of varying cone crushers.Historical recovery rates of crushed Rochester ore averaged 61.4 percent Ag and 95.9 percent Au over a period of 20 years (Robinson et al., 2018). These rates were derived from third-party verification of in-house metallurgical test results, crusher production and heap leach production results from 1986 through 2004 in a private report for Rochester produced by KD Engineering Co., Inc. Recovery rates are regularly verified by compositing daily samples of ore delivered to each leach pad from the X-pit crusher, in-pit crusher and/ or ROM. A proportionate split of each sample is used to generate monthly composites for metallurgical analysis utilizing column leaching and bottle roll leaching. These tests are run in a manner analogous with production conditions and deliver test results that provide expected heap leach performance. As the Rochester oxide deposit has been mineralogically and metallurgically consistent, the gold and silver recovery trends have also been consistent over the life of the project."

The application of high-resolution seismic reflection to map structure and/or mineralisation in hard rock environments has progressed significantly in the last decade. Improvements in equipment, field practice, processing and understanding has seen the seismic reflection technique emerge as a cost-effective tool for high-resolution three-dimensional structural and lithology mapping to depths far greater and with superior accuracy than other more conventional geophysical techniques.This paper outlines results and preliminary interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic reflection surveys aimed at defining fault zones and locations for quartz load development in favourable host lithologies at the Cracow low-sulfidation epithermal gold system in Queensland, Australia.As this is possibly the first time that high-resolution seismic reflection data has been used to define the structurally-controlled location of low-sulfidation epithermal gold mineralisation, an important aspect of this work was the derisking or due diligence steps taken prior to commissioning the full 3D surveys at each site. This included full wave sonic logging, vertical seismic profiling and trial 2D lines. Interpretation of the 2D profiles and the drilling of interpreted structure provided the confidence to proceed with the full 3D survey.The advantage of collecting 3D data extends beyond ensuring that the received reflections are located correctly in 3D space. The final 3D data cube can potentially map the entire fault network, thus highlighting flexures and changes in orientation of the structures both vertically and along strike, which is an important aspect in the deposition of gold and for direct targeting.CITATION:Smith, R, Cook, J, Pike, S and Pridmore, D, 2015. The Hamersley Province in Western Australia hosts large iron ore deposits. Each deposit displays various iron ore types that were defined on their metallurgical properties, especially in terms of porosity and mineralogy. Conventional porosity and mineralogy information on iron ore types are provided on 2D thin sections using automated image analysis with scanning electron microscopy (SEM)-based techniques combined with chemical analyses. However these techniques cannot accurately quantify the 3D porosity. High-resolution X-ray computed tomography (HRXCT) is a non-destructive technique providing a 3D image of the sample with a resolution close to 0.5 - 0.7 ¦m for samples size of up to few centimetres in length. 3D image analysis using customised algorithms now provide accurate quantitative porosity and mineralogy of iron ore types.CITATION:Fonteneau, L C P J, Godel, B and Ramanaidou, E R, 2013. A test program was conducted to evaluate use of high-strength concrete in drilled shafts (caissons). The objective of the program was to determine if internal temperatures developed during cement hydration, or other characteristics of high-strength mixes, affect in-situ strength and stiffness. This paper covers strength results. Two 10-ft (3.0-m) diameter by 40-ft (12.2-m) deep caissons were constructed using two different commercially available high-strength concretes, a "low-heat" and a "high-strength" mix. Measured 6x12-in. (150x300mm) moist cured cylinder strengths at 56 days were 13,690 psi (94 MPa) for the "low-heat" mix and 17,130 psi (118 MPa) for the "high-strength" mix. Compressive strengths and moduli of elasticity of cores taken from the caissons were compared to those of companion cylinders made during casting of the caissons and stored in a moist room. Strengths of 4x8-in. (100x200 mm) cores taken at four ages and tested between 34 and 398 days averaged 81% of strengths of 6x12-in. (150x300 mm) moist cured cylinders at corresponding ages. In-situ (core) strengths of the caissons did not appear to be measurably affected by temperature. However, the data indicate that core strengths were sensitive to level of consolidation, as reflected in entrapped air voids. Overall, the results indicate that high-strength concretes can be used in drilled shaft (caisson) foundations.

"The EGAT Mae Moh coal mine is an open-cut coal mine in Thailand that produces about 16 million tons of lignite annually to generate 2,400 mw of electricity. The surface mine pit covers is 4 by 7 km (2 by 4 mi) with mining depths ranging up to 260 m (853 ft). A large pit slope is formed with the progression of the mining operation. However, massive slides in the pit slope often occur due to weak planes, such as faults and bedding, and the weak mechanical properties of the rocks. Hence, a 200-300 m (656-984 ft) boundaries of rock block including coal seams is left in front of faults in order to prevent slides and maintain the stability of the pit slope. As a result, there are significant coal reserves beneath the abandoned area along the pit slope.The focus of this paper is on the applicability and design of the highwall mining for recovering much of the coal left along the pit slope.INTRODUCTIONThe EGAT Mae Moh Mine is located about 630 km (186 mi) north of Bangkok, Thailand (see Figure 1). It is the largest coal mine in Thailand and produces about 16 million tons of lignite annually from open-cut mining (70 % of the total coal produced in Thailand). The coal is used to generate 2,400 mw of electricity at the Mae Moh power plant, which is situated near the mining area. The mine pit covers an area of 4 by 7 km (2 by 4 mi) at varied depths up to 260 m (583 ft) as shown in Figure 2. As the mining operation progresses, the pit becomes to be deeper and deeper. In the year 2035, the bottom of the pit is expected to reach depths of 500-600 m and the open-cut mining operation will be finished. The possibility of an underground mining operation is being investigated.A large pit slope is formed with the progression of open-cut mining. However, massive slides often occur in the pit slope along weak planes including faults and bedding planes due to the weak nature of the rock. As a result, 200 to 300 m (656 to 984 ft) boundaries of rock including coal seams are left in place in front of faults to prevent slides and to maintain the stability of pit slope. Moreover, the dip of the slope is less than that of the planned design. As a result, there significant coal reserves abandoned along the pit slope."

According to the previous research, it is found that the thickness of cover is mostly less than 100 m for highwall mining system. However, for most of the Chinese surface coal mines, the mining depth is over 150 m; on the other hand, the shovel-truck is the most common mining technology. As a result, a lot of residual coal will be remained around end-walls. Considering these facts, the calculated methodology of highwall mining system under thick cover is presented in this paper. Meanwhile, numerical simulation of highwall mining system under thick cover was carried out. The outcome shows that the calculated methodology for pillar stability of highwall mining system under thick cover presented in this paper is acceptable. In other words, the highwall mining system is feasible to extract the residual coal around end-walls in Chinese surface coal mines. Thus, not only coal recovery ratio can be improved, but also can increase the production life of surface coal mines in China.

The HILTI OneStep rockbolt was implemented for roadway development in German deep coal mines in 2004. The development by HILTI Company is based on a technical joint venture with RAG Deutsche Steinkohle AG. The technical development of a One-Step bolting system was required for weak strata conditions at the roadway development face. Standard resin bolting has reached the limit of performance when boreholes are squeezed and cannot be filled with capsules. In some cases the heading face is brittle and requires additional support for installation of the bolts and a person working immediately next to the borehole. The Hilti One-Step system allows automated and safe processing at the heading front and provides the key technique to avoid these problems.

The evaluation of historical goldfields is currently topical, reflecting a high gold price, improvements in knowledge and technology. and lack of greenfield sites. Many goldfields comprise narrow gold-quartz veins which are structurally complex with an irregular distribution of gold; variable geometry and architecture; and display late deformational effects. The study of historical mine records can be an important tool during early and advanced project evaluation since it contributes to understanding the orebody, exploration target size and setting expectations. The historic Engineer Mine property is located 32 km west of Atlin, British Columbia on the east side of Tagish Lake. The economically important Engineer and Double Decker veins belong to a NNE-SSW vein set. These are narrow, commonly &lt;2 m dilational veins with a minor sinistral strike component and of an epithermal type. Documented ore production between 1910 - 1952 is recorded as approximately 14 263 t at 39.4 g/t Au and 19.5 g/t Ag (for 18 000 oz Au and 8950 oz Ag). The underground workings consist of about 5500 m of tunnels, shafts, raises and stopes over eight levels. The mine is currently being re-evaluated. In 2011, an Inferred Mineral Resource of 41 000 t at 19 g/t Au for 25 000 oz Au (at a 5 g/t Au cut-off) was defined from historical data supported by modern drilling into the Engineer and Double Decker veins. It is a pleasure to have the opportunity of being here today to discuss the application of horizontal filters in the metallurgical industries. The use of horizontal type filters has been limited in metallurgical plants. However, in the recent past there have been new designs of this type equipment which greatly broaden their field of application. Through their use in many applications, important economies can be achieved over more conventional methods. The first of the modern continuous horizontal filters was initially developed by Oliver United Filters as their scroll type horizontal filter. This was an outgrowth of the old Oliver Sand Table that was limited to very coarse, free filtering pulps containing no appreciable amount of fine particles. The sand table was rather limited in application. The later continuous scroll type horizontal filter provided for a reverse air blow after discharge which reslurried the heel remaining and permitted the filtration of pulps containing finer particles. In the manufacture of phosphoric acid by the ?wet? process, the filtration of gypsum from the strong acid presented an extremely difficult filtration problem due to blinding of the filter media caused by crystallization of the soluble salts contained in the acid. A filter which allowed for continuous cloth washing was required, and this led to the development of the continuous pan type, and travelling belt type horizontal filters which provided for this need. Among the filters developed were the Prayon by Engineering and Industrial Corporation of Luxembomg for use in their phosphoric acid plants. They are one of the largest manufacturers of phosphoric acid in Europe. The Dorr-Oliver Traveling Pan Filter was also developed by Mario Giorgini, Manager of Dorr-Oliver?s Italian subsidiary, for use with the Dorr Company?s phosphoric acid process. Basically, there are four existing types of horizontal filters in commercial use at this time: The scroll discharge non-pan type, the continuous belt type (Lurgi), rotary pan type, and the traveling belt type. The construction and principle of operation of these various filters will be discussed.

Compared with traditional elutriation equipment, it adopts new technologies in removing impurities, operation, large-scale, process simplification, water-saving, remote control, etc. It optimizes the comprehensive beneficiation index, expands its application scope, reduces resource wastes and increases economic benefits.INTRODUCTIONMagnetite accounts for a comparatively great proportion in various iron resources. As it’s a kind of strong magnetic mineral, we must adopt the weak magnetic separation equipment in magnetic separation process to realize removing Si and lowering impurities. While it cannot do very well to use the common weak magnetic separation equipment in the final cleaning to remove Si and lower impurities. At present, the plants, adopting single magnetic separation process to realize cleaning and removing Si and lowering impurities, are in the minority. Most magnetite plants adopt the flotation separation process to remove Si, lower impurities and purify the concentrate. Though with stable indexes and high Fe recovery rate, the flotation process is very complicated, high-cost and with lots of environmental pollution. If adopting the weak magnetic separation equipment can realize removing Si, lowering impurities and the final cleaning, the magnetic separation process should be the primary choice."

"Promote and apply a new beneficiation technology and equipment effectively processing the refractory and medium-fine grained weak-magnetic minerals. HUATE® Forced-oil Cooling Vertical Ring WHIMS adopts the transformer oil cooling technology to cool excitation coils, solving the easily generated scaling problem resulting from water cooling, thereby to eliminate the demineralized water system. With <25 temperature ?raise, its magnetic field is stable. Wrapped by outer magnetic armor, it can generate a background intensity 1360kA/m. It effects very well in 1) wet preseparating the weak-magnetic coarse grains, like hematite, manganese ore, ilmenite, and purifying the concentrate; 2) removing the ferrous impurities and purifying the non-metallic minerals, like quartz, feldspar, kaolin; 3) enriching and recovering tailings from non-ferrous metals, like copper, lead, cobalt, molybdenum, thereby to greatly improve the mine resource utilization. Greatly promoting development of mineral processing technologies, HUATE® WHIMS is the equipment to reduce costs and improve efficiency urgently needed by the mine enterprises now.INTRODUCTIONAt present, influenced by the price and production factors, the international market demand for the grade of iron ores is increasing continuously. Restricted by the ore occurrence state, the beneficiation technology level and product economic value, every year the stope strips the stockpiling and discards hundreds of millions of tons of waste rocks containing iron, especially the weak magnetic hematite and limonite with <20% Fe%. The utilization technological bottleneck of these waste rocks makes their concentration ratio as high as 5-6, which leads to the huge wastes of energy, materials and beneficiation reagents and the increase of production costs. The effective solution is to improve the selected Fe% of the waste rocks like hematite. With the successful application of HPGR technologies in Chinese large iron mines, the mill feeding size has been reduced to 6-0 mm or 3-0 mm from the original 15-0 mm in the crushing system with 3 stages of crushing and 1 stage of closed circuit. This creates the conditions for the wet separation and recovery. While for the medium-fine grained weak-magnetic minerals, it lacks of the effective separation and recovery equipment in the world, which’s badly in need of R&D of the medium-fine grained high gradient wet strong magnetic preseparation equipment."

The surficial collapse pits of the mining areas are continuously spreading in Beiminghe iron mine of Hebei Province as a result of the exploitation, which has done a lot of damage to the circumjacent ecological environment of the mine. It is a new path to handle the mine tailings at the present time that the thickened tailings are used to backfill the collapse pits, in which way the problems of the surficial collapse and the nowhere discharge of the tailings are both solved, and the rational utilization of the mine tailings and the clean production of the mine enterprise are realized. The?200 mesh content of the tailings of Beiminghe iron mine is 76.87%, and?325 mesh content is 63.50%. Semi-industrial dehydration experiments to the tailings have been done using the hydro-cyclone classified thickening process. The results show that when FX125 hydrocyclone is adopted, the concentration of underflow can achieve 73.31%, and the yield ratio is 61.78%; when FX150 hydrocyclone is adopted, the concentration of underflow is 70.57%, and the yield ratio is 54.31%, which indicate that the minor diameter hydrocyclone is propitious to improve the yield ratio of the underflow. The semi-industrial dehydration system of hydrocyclone classified thickening process is com-posed of FX125 hydrocyclone, D3600 high-efficient thickener and D2000 thickening bucket. The capacity to tailings disposal can achieve 3.07t/h and the tailings can be thickened from 28.86% to 62.45%. Compared with the traditional thickening-filtrating process and the total tailings directly filtrating process, the hydrocyclone classified thickening process has the merits of simple flow and high thickening efficiency, so it is easy to be realized in the mine.

Fracture grouting is a particular technique which can be used in soils and rocks with low permeability to increase groutability and penetration rates and to solve some special foundation problems by inducing limited and controlled zones of hydrofracture surrounding the injection source. The present paper describes the basic principles of hydrofracture and its application to grouting in deep foundations, and indicates some recognitions about the mechanisms and effects of fracture grouting.

"ICP-MS has moved from a laboratory curiosity to a functional analytical tool. This paper discusses how ICP-MS has been used to solve difficult analytical problems encountered when analyzing various mine materials. Comparisons between analytical techniques applied to the analysis of gold and the platinum group metals illustrate the advantages and problems of ICPMS when. applied to trace levels of some metals iri the presence of ore grade metals. Interferences and matrix effects are compared to ICP, AA and Neutron Activation. The necessity to select chemical extractions which are compatible with ICP-MS are also discussed.The ICP-MS techniques explained in the examples on Au and precious group elements (PGE) have validity in analytical problems encountered in testing of trace metals in the presence of major elements found in mine materials. Exploration and environmental testing are other areas that require the same analytical approach to quantify trace levels in the presence of major interfering elements normally associated with mining environments."

To protect mine personnel and moving equipment at underground roof fall areas, mine operators typically install steel sets, which are covered with wooden blocks and backfilled with an expanding type cement material. In large roof falls, the cost of void backfilling becomes prohibitively high causing some mines to leave the voids open. However, the durability of wood over time and the capability of the steel set and wood lagging to resist falling rock are unknown. This has caused concerns for the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) and ground control engineers. During past two years, Keystone Mining Services, LLC designed and developed various impact-resistant steel set designs that were approved by MSHA and installed in various underground fall rehabilitations. This paper presents the patent pending impact-resistant steel set design methodology, including (1) steel set design per AISC national standard, (2) design, development, and laboratory testing of a water proof composite impact resistant lagging panel, and (3) impact resistant steel set design based on Law of Conservation of Energy. Two underground cases will be included detailing the application of the system.

"The White Mountain sediment-hosted gold deposit is located in north-eastern China. Mineralisation is associated with silica–hematite–altered polymict breccias that occur within dolomite at or near the contact with overlying sandstone. Economic gold grades are controlled by the distribution of the polymict breccias and can transition rapidly to low or zero grade over short distances. This results in sharp and highly irregular ore contacts on whose accuracy proper stope design and ore control is reliant at this blasthole underground mine.Short-term planning and ore control utilise a grade control model created from infill drilling and grade control sampling (ie face and wall sampling). Typically, the grade control model was maintained by time-consuming manual editing of earlier made contacts to incorporate any new data. This approach also was quite error-prone due to: the complexity of the breccia and ore grade contacts irregularly oriented and/or insufficiently dense drill holes inconsistent incorporation of grade control sampling. These errors resulted in unplanned dilution and ore loss due to inaccurate interpretation of the ore contacts.The primary advantage to implicit geological models over conventional, manually-built wireframe models is that they can be updated very quickly and frequently. In a mine setting, the power and efficiency of using an implicit model is greatest where the use of manual inputs or editing can be minimised. Recently a workflow was set-up for the mine geology team to create an implicitly-modelled ore shape for short-term planning needs by using all data, especially all grade control samples. The resultant 3D shapes provided metre-scale accuracy and consistently reconciled complex ore geometries much faster and to a higher degree of quality relative to the wireframe model. The geologist is often called upon to give judgment on the possibilities of reviving a former mining field presumably worked out as far as the evidence then available indicated. From time to time, scarcity and consequent high prices of metals has led to there-examination of many old fields. The possibility of resuming investigation on them where the practical miner ceased work, even where he had the aid of the trained geologist, has long since disappeared.Means of access to mines have been removed and water fills the workings. Hence an indirect mode of attack becomes essential.This method depends mainly on past history, and may be described as a reaching out by faith supported by shrewd guessing from the known to the unknown. Apart from whatever general intelligent observations may be made in situ of the evidence of former mining activity, the method depends largely on the examination of the past history of the field as revealed in the official records, company reports, plans of underground workings, local newspaper accounts, and the testimony of practical miners formerly employedon the field, the&apos; reliability of which has to be carefully sifted. The matter derived from the examination of these sources must next be rigorously collated and correlated where possible. When the review of all individu!1l features and aspects has been completed, tentative and speculative conclusions may be drawn which, though not verifiable before the event, will usually prove to be more serviceable guides in exploratory operations than mere &quot;blind stabbing.&quot;As an actual illustration of what is involved in the mode of procedure outlined above, the following is the description of an investigation in which the writer took part.In 1937, during the course of the Commonwealth Aerial, Geological and Geophysical Survey of Northern Australia, a detailed geological investigation was undertaken of the Croydon gold field, situated near the south-eastern. extremity of the Gulf of Carpentaria in North Queensland.The history of the field briefly is as follows: It was discovered in 1885, reached its peak of production 1896, declining thereafter till 1906, when operations ceased. The total production was about 1,000,000 ounces of gold bullion, containing approximately 40 per cent. of silver. The gold bullion was won from flat-dipping quartz reefs, which yielded an average of 2.oz. to the ton, and the maximum depth to which production occurred was 500 feet. Subsequent prospecting below this depth failed to locate further ore.In consequence of the inaccessibility of the mines and the almost total masking of the&apos; surface by alluvium, the investigation of future possibilities became largely an. office ,study, which was conducted under the following headings:-1.
