Los diseños e implementación de las voladuras en campo deben implementar alternativas innovadoras dentro del proceso y elaborar modelos vibracionales con respecto a las comunidades cercanas, teniendo como base los criterios de daño y percepción humana adoptados por la unidad, con un enfoque social y eficiencia operativa.

In this study, a fuzzy logic self-tuning PID controller based on an improved disturbance observer is designed for control of the ball mill grinding circuit. The ball mill grinding circuit has vast applications in the mining, metallurgy, chemistry, pharmacy, and research laboratories; however, this system has some challenges. The grinding circuit is a multivariable system in which the high interaction between loops, the variation of the system parameters with time, and time delay are some of the problems that pose a challenge. Since the controller parameters are determined offline in classic PID control, these gains are unchangeable and cannot overcome the mentioned challenges in this system. Hence, a fuzzy logic self-tuning PID controller, which is a combination of fuzzy logic and a conventional PID controller, is proposed to control the grinding system, especially in the presence of model mismatch and disturbances. In addition, in order to solve the system challenges, a multivariable control approach based on an improved disturbance observer is proposed to suppress the effects of the disturbances. The most important feature of the algorithm proposed in this paper as the combination of fuzzy logic self-tuning PID and improved disturbance observer is its ability to eliminate system interaction, attenuate internal and external disturbances, and compensate the effect of system uncertainty on the performance of the ball mill grinding circuit. Simulation results in the cases of the set-point change in particle size and circulating load in the presence of model mismatch and external disturbances confirmed the controller performance compared to other controllers.

Hydraulic fracturing methods for production stimulation have become a common procedure in the oil and gas industry. Fracturing treatments are performed on wells of various potentials to help increase the production rate. In addition to the desire for increased production is the need to predict what increase might be expected. This knowledge is useful in economical treatment planning to accomplish the desired production goals for the well. Theoretical production increases due to horizontal radial fractures may be calculated using equations developed from mathematical analyses and electrical models.1,2,6 It also is possible to predict theoretical production increases due to vertical fractures using curves developed from electrical3 and mathematical models.8 However, these studies assumed that the vertical fracture height and the formation height were equal, which may not be true." In addition, the final fracture height through which fluid is produced may not be equal to the created height. The development of vertical fracture proppant transport relationships has made unrealistic the assumption that propped fracture height is equal to created fracture height. Through the use of published proppant transport equations,4'12 it is possible to calculate the height of a bed of propping agent deposited in a fracture of a given height. Assuming that the fluid flowing in the fracture moves through only the propped portion of that fracture (i.e., that the un-propped part of the fracture heals) it becomes essential to know how production increase varies with the ratio of propped fracture height to formation height. It should be recognized that future investigation may determine that the fracture does not heal completely and that a highly permeable channel exists over the deposited bed of proppant. The effect of this channel was not considered for the present study. The following analysis of experimental data allowed development of curves to determine theoretical production increases considering fracture height as a variable. Discussion In designing a fracturing stimulation treatment a number of variables must be considered. The size of the treatment, type of proppant used, proppant concentration, treatment fluid properties and well conditions are all factors affecting the dimensions and permeability of the fracture. Extractive metallurgy techniques currently employed to recover silver from primary ores and secondary scrap were reviewed and evaluated to identify and delineate metallurgical problems whose resolution would increase the supply of silver from domestic materials. The survey revealed that practically all primary silver is recovered by froth flotation concentration of various types of ores, followed by smelting and refining of the separate lead, copper, and zinc concentrates. Silver losses during the complex processing are, with rare exception, inconsequential. Furthermore, any silver production gain from base metal ores, which contribute about two-thirds of the total primary silver, is directly dependent on improvement in the market for the base metals. Statistical data on new and old silver scrap are wholly inadequate to make reliable conclusions about scrap processing problems and the possibility of increasing the recovery of silver from the many forms of secondary silverbearing materials. The available information indicates (1) that efficient silver reclamation practices are employed by the larger users of silver, and (2) that recovery of additional secondary silver involves solution of problems of collection rather than of processing. Several possibilities exist for limited increases in silver production from primary ores by improvement in metallurgical practices. Specifically, research is needed to (1) solve the problem of recovering silver from the copper ores of the Copper Range district, Michigan; and (2) devise economically feasible methods for recovery of silver from presently marginal or submarginal ores that because of grade, location, and frequently complex nature cannot presently be exploited by conventional techniques.

Contributions made by mining have played a much more significant role in the development of civilization than is generally conceded by historians or recognized by ordinary citizens. In modern society, mined products pervade all industry and the lives of all civilized people. Early man relied largely on stone and ceramics, and eventually metals, to fashion tools and weapons. Civilization was advanced by discoveries such as abundant supplies of high-quality flint in northern France and southern England and firesetting to break rock. Middle Eastern cultures flourished not only because of agriculture and trade, but also because of mineral-rich deposits nearby. The earliest miners date back perhaps to 300,000 BC; their quest was for nonmetallic minerals (chert, flint, obsidian) suitable for utensils and eventually for weapons. Other rocks and minerals (ceramics, clay, salt, meteoric iron) attracted the miners for jewelry, cosmetics, construction materials, food seasoning, and coinage. At first, their excavations were confined to the surface, either pits or placers. But by about 40,000 BC, mine workings had been extended underground as short adits or shafts, and by 8000 BC as elaborate interconnected openings 300 ft (90 m) in depth. Recent developments in hardware and software have made accurate measurement of Underground Face (Development) Drilling a reality. New and compact laser profiling equipment makes it possible to measure drilled material left on the face as well as the actual tracks of the holes drilled in the rounds. Utilization of these available technologies makes it possible to correctly define the drilling accuracy and the blasting pull. Through the use of actual face round measurements, I will show the level of definition and amount of information that can be collected.

El presente trabajo técnico nace de la necesidad que tenía Minera Yanacocha de ubicar los sectores más importantes para la realización de sondajes diamantinos, los cuales ayudarían a la confirmación o adición de nuevos recursos para el proyecto Chaquicocha Subterráneo, así como para establecer la línea base para operar la futura mina. Así, se analizan tanto los riesgos identificados como los controles a tener en cuenta durante el desarrollo de excavaciones mineras subterráneas en ambientes con alto contenido de azufre nativo y se confirma que es posible desarrollar excavaciones seguras en estos ambientes, a la vez que se establecen lineamientos generales para el desarrollo de este tipo de proyectos.

Time-dependent ground behavior may have important implications for the construction process or the life of a tunnel. The paper gives a concise overview of the influence of time on the deformations and the stability of underground openings, including topics such as face stability in soft ground or the time-development of pressure or deformations in squeezing or swelling rock. While keeping in mind practical questions of tunnel engineering, emphasis is placed on understanding the observed time-dependency, on the underlying mechanisms (such as pore water pressure dissipation or chemical processes) as well as on the respective inherent prediction-uncertainties and design-uncertainties.

Aços resistentes ao desgaste são amplamente aplicados em partes estruturais que exigem propriedades como resistência mecânica, tenacidade e resistência ao desgaste abrasivo. O presente trabalho foi realizado devido à necessidade de desenvolvimento de materiais necessários para minimizar os efeitos causados pelo desgaste abrasivo. Os objetivos são: obter microestrutura multiconstituída (ferrita, bainita, martensita e austenita retida) por meio de tratamentos térmicos; e compará-la a microestrutura martensítica revenida. O aço estudado possui a seguinte composição química 0,26%C-1,13%Mn-0,92%Si-0,72%Cr- 0,29%Mo-0,18%Ni-0,17%Cu. Conduziu-se os tratamentos térmicos na sequência apresentada: recozimento subcrítico a 700°C, têmpera em óleo (temperatura de austenitização 940°C) e tratamento isotérmico de transformação bainítica (temperatura de austenitização de 820, 860, 900 e 940°C) ou recozimento subcrítico a 700°C seguido de têmpera/revenimento (940°C e resfriamento em água/250°C por 2 horas). Microscopia Eletrônica de Varredura (MEV) foi empregada para se avaliar a microestrutura do aço. Dureza Rockwell C foi utilizada com intuito de comparar a dureza das diversas microestruturas obtidas. Constatou-se que com a diminuição da temperatura de austenitização houve decréscimo do valor de dureza; e as amostras temperadas e revenidas demonstraram dureza média maior que as amostras que passaram por tratamento isotérmico de bainitização. A microestrutura multiconstituída foi obtida.

En ese sentido, el presente texto describe el proceso de la prospección física y los métodos geofísicos utilizados en dicho proceso. Estos métodos geofísicos se clasifican de acuerdo a los parámetros físicos estudiados y son: los métodos gravimétricos, magnéticos, sísmicos, eléctricos, prospección radioactiva, magnético, polarización reducida y los métodos diversos.

Since the 1960's, the science of human factors, or ergonomics, has been making inroads into the mining industry, and a considerable amount of research has documented human-factor-related mining problems and solutions. This Bureau of Mines report is directed toward summarizing the application of human factors to improving safety, productivity, and the general physical and psychological working conditions of miners. The aim of this report is to familiarize the readers with the role of human factors in the mining industry and the benefits that can accrue by systematically applying available human factors principles and data. The text contains 10 chapters dealing with human, equipment, and environmental factors. Each chapter builds on the previous chapter; therefore, it is recommended that the chapters be read sequentially However, if the report is used as a supplemental text, say in a mining safety course, chapters can be assigned in any order to supplement other readings.

El presente trabajo señala las técnicas de planificación de caminos para robots móviles basados en la aplicación de diversas señales de control a los modelos cinemáticos del vehículo considerado en minería para mejorar la reducción del mineral en mina subterránea. Asimismo, estos robots móviles dotan de algunas características inteligentes a un tradicional cargador frontal u otros equipos, transformándolos en un vehículo guiado, capaz de moverse en medio de túneles y pasillos a oscuras. Como ejemplo de ello, fue desarrollar un prototipo a escala: un pequeño vehículo de laboratorio, llamado GeBoot donde se introdujo algoritmo de Red Neuronal con lógica difusa para las formas de guiado espacial, logrando optimizar dicha proceso. De otro lado, se revisan los métodos existentes para la estimación de la posición de robots móviles y vehículos autónomos.

In the HC FeMn production, better utilisation of coke and electric power is vital for reducing the production costs. The higher manganese oxides in the charge are reduced to MnO in the prereduction zone, where also the Boudouard reaction is active. These gas-solid reactions are to a large extent decisive for the total consumption of both coke and electrical power in ferromanganese production. In the present work formulas for calculating the Degree of prereduction have been developed for industrial practice. It shows that the typical Degree of prereduction is between 10-40%, but it may in good periods be as high as 60%. Statistical analysis has been done in order to find how various operational parameters influence the Degree of prereduction. A few parameters were observed to have an effect on the prereduction. Comilog ore definitely had a positiveinfluence on the prereduction, Comilog sinter and Mamatwan ore probably had a positive influence on the prereduction, all in relation to the average prereduction in the selected periods. Meanwhile, As man ore definitely, % H2O in raw materials and increasing Hd probably, had a negative influence on the prereduction. The findings for these raw materials were very much in coherence with the results of laboratory scale experiments performed, where the CO-reactivity of different ore materials was studied.

Freeport Indonesia (25:0%), Mitsubishi Corporation (9.5%) and Nippon Mining and Metals Co. Ltd. (4.5%).The Gresik Copper Smelter and Refinery is designed to produce 200,000 tpy of copper cathode from 660,000 tpy of copper concentrates supplied 100% by 'Grasberg Mine of PT. Freeport, Indonesia in West Papua (former Irian Jaya). Other by products are 600,000 tpy of sulfuric acid, 30,000 tpy of gypsum, 509 tpy of precious metal slime and 400,000 tpy of granulated slag. These are sold to domestic and international markets.This project adopted the Mitsubishi Continuous Copper Smelting and Converting Process in the Smelter for anode casting, Contilanod process comprising Hazelett twin belt caster and a Mannesmann's travelling shear were selected. ISA stainless steel cathode process is applied in refinery. The combination of contilanod anode and stainless steel cathode ensured good cathode quality from the very beginning of start-up SO2 gas generated from Smelter is treated by Lurgi-Mitsubishi double contact/absorption acid plant. All contact. wastewater from the plant is treated in multistage wastewater treatment plant.Electricity and oxygen are ·supplied ""over the fence"" by a company which is located in the site of the Gresik Smelter and Refinery."

El presente trabajo describe el trabajo de perforación y disparo realizado en la mina de Toquepala. Debido a la configuración del depósito, el yacimiento de Toquepala debe ser trabajado por tajadas verticales. El espaciamiento entre taladros varía por diversos factores como la naturaleza de la roca, la configuración del terreno (cresta y talud de los niveles) y las condiciones de operación. En ese sentido, los taladros son cargados diariamente, exceptuando solamente los huecos húmedos con agua. Por ello, se debe analizar el carguío de taladros con explosivo, disparos primarios, perforación y los disparos secundarios.
