Longwall face-to-face equipment transfers or moves are, for many companies, the largest single source of non-productive time in a longwall mining system. Detailed planning and resourceful thinking are paramount for economical, safe, and timely longwall moves. New equipment and innovative techniques are frequently tested in order to reduce overall move time. Determining the cost effectiveness of these ideas is difficult since the decision is influenced by many subjective factors. A project scheduling simulation model of the longwall move process was developed in order to analyze and assess the economic viability of innovative transfer methods and equipment. The model provides a project duration frequency distribution and lists of critically indexed activities and paths. It compares the monetary savings from reduced transfer time and capital costs for several innovative ideas.

Quaternary alluvial deposits in the modern stream channel of the Agua Fria River west of Phoenix, Arizona, is mined and processed to provide aggregate to the greater Phoenix area. The alluvium occurs as three distinct, stratigraphic layers. Samples from each of the three layers were examined for gravel clast lithology, grain size distribution, and engineering tests, which revealed noteworthy differences in properties. The engineering properties of the gravels are dependent on a combination of factors including gravel clast lithology, the distance the gravel clasts have been transported from their source areas, the age of the deposits, and the degree of weathering. Knowledge of these characteristics may affect the methods that aggregate operators employ to extract and process gravel from the Agua Fria River.

As in other areas of the country, surface coal mine productivity in the Central Coal Province--primarily Illinois, Indiana, and west Kentucky--has declined steadily since 1969 (figure 1). Productivity, as measured in tons of clean coal produced per man-shift, dropped 35 percent during the period 1969-1975. Unwelcome at any time, this phenomenon is particularly untimely now, when increased coal production is a national goal. The U.S. Bureau of Mines has been working with the coal industry to develop new operating methods and equipment to enable increased productivity and improved reclamation performance in surface coal mining. Several projects have involved identification and evaluation of existing overburden handling and reclamation practices, and development of means to improve operational procedures. Some results of one of those projects, as they apply to the Central Coal Province, are summarized in this paper.

The term bauxite was first used by O.P.A.P. Dufrenoy in 1845 for an ore which was discovered by Pierre Berthier in 1821 near the village of Les Beaux de Provence near Arles in southern France. His data suggested that this mineral was an alumina hydrate with two molecules of water. However, it was subsequently shown by thermal analysis that the mineral was a fortuitous mixture of the mono-hydrate and the tri-hydrate. Diaspore had been previously discovered in 1801 and gibbsite in 1822. The term was however retained as a rock name. The name of the village was changed to Les Baux around 1885; Sainte Claire Deville suggested that the mineral name should reflect this, and it was changed to bauxite (Bracewell, 1962, Rkgnier, 1988). Mining of bauxite began around 1860 in the Auriol region in the Bouches du Rhine area in the south of France. This ore was transported toMarseilles by carts and was processed in the Salindres plant, which at that time was the only plant producing alumina using the Deville process and aluminum by the chemical process. During that period white bauxite (low iron content) was particularly sought after for the production of aluminum sulfate, refractory bricks, and quick setting cement. Export of bauxite from France began in 1880 and was initially delivered to Chemische Fabrik, Goldschmischen near Breslau, and to Guilini's Ludwigshafen plant in Germany in 1885. These companies produced alum and aluminum sulfate (RCg- nier, 1988). The next bauxite mining operation was in Antrim County in Northern Ireland in 1873. This was first used for the manufacture of alumina refractory bricks and quick setting cement (Bracewell, 1962). It is important to emphasize that initially almost all of the bauxite which was produced came from France and was mainly used for non-metallurgical purposes. At that time even the production of alumina was mainly for use as a mordant in textile dying. However, with the development of the Hall-Héroult process, the alumina which was available was increasingly used for smelting to aluminum. In spite of this the demand for non-metallurgical bauxite continued to increase and a set of applications were developed. These include refractories, abrasives (including the recently developed proppants), high alumina cements, aluminum chemicals, activated bauxite, and alumina. It became increasingly evident that the high alumina-low alkali raw materials have special advantages. The question however was one of cost benefit. Chin (1989) has pointed out that the non-metallurgical operations have been traditionally grafted on a bauxite/alumina/aluminum industry tree. Acidic treatment of enargite (Cu3AsS4) dissolves both arsenic and copper from the mineral and then attempts to separate them in the leach solution. The reactivity of enargite was examined in acidic solutions, over the pH range 1-7, to determine a potential range for co-dissolution.. Enargite mineral samples from Butte, MT and Quirivilca, Peru were used as working electrodes in a cyclic voltammetry corrosion cell setup, which were then cycled multiple times over -1000 to 1000 mV. Surface reactions and transitions were characterized using in-situ Raman spectroscopy, which were then compared to updated predominance diagrams for the copper-arsenic-sulfur system from a previous study done under alkaline conditions. The region of co-dissolution is limited to > 600 mV vs. SHE and pH < 1 under the proposed diagram.

The Minntac complex is a facility for production of iron ore pellets located on the Mesabi Range at mountain iron, Minnesota. It consists basically of a mine, crushing plant, concentrator, and a pelletizer producing twelve and one-half million tons of pellets annually. This paper deals with some of the aspects of the grinding circuits; but prior to that discussion, it might be well to briefly describe the flow of material in the operation. The crude ore, containing from 20% to 25% magnetic iron, is mined by 14-yard electric shovels. .the blasted ore is loaded directly into 50-yard side dump railroad cars and hauled to the crushing plant. Crushing is done in three stages, originally, two 60" primary crushers; four 7-foot standard secondary crushers; and six 7-foot short head tertiary crushers were installed, when the plant was expanded to double its capacity, five secondary and ten tertiary crushers were added. These were duplicates of the original 7-foot standard and short head crushers used in the original construction, there was no expansion of the primary crushers but a one-half-million-ton surge pile of tertiary crusher feed was added.

A short review of the current practice and recent developments is followed by a description of a newly developed approach for the solution of the optimum ultimate pit limit problem. The new approach utilizes the network modeling of the problem for solution by maximum flow algorithm. The latest developments in the implementation of maximum flow algorithm present significant time and memory savings as compared to initial development due to Ford and Fulkerson. Results of a series of computational tests are presented to demonstrate how this approach performs as compared to the well-known Lerchs Grossman algorithm. It is also shown that the solution by the new method will automatically include several optimal solutions based on predetermined number of benches to be included in the analysis.

Batch leaching experiments have been performed to study the kinetics of galena leaching in fluosilicic acid solutions with oxidants. Variables studied included: fluosilicic acid concentration, oxidant type, oxidant concentration, particle size and leaching temperature. It was found that hydrogen peroxide was the most effective oxidant, compared to the others studied, and the effect of the oxidant concentration on the leaching behavior of galena was very significant. Also, decreasing the particle size and increasing the leaching temperature increased the extraction rate. The initial, apparent activation energy was calculated to be 11.72 kJ/mole (2.8 kcal/mole) and suggested that galena leaching in fluosilicic acid solution, with hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant, may be controlled by fluid film mass transfer initially. The reaction appears to be retarded by the formation of elemental sulfur and the sulfur oxidation becomes a major resistance to the overall leaching reaction.

With complex component, higher salt content, low biodegradability, DSD acid oxidation wastewater could not be efficiently dealt with traditional methods. It is pointed that the coal water slurry could be made with DSD acid oxidation wastewater of different concentration and the density of coal water slurry could be up to 70%, while its viscosity is only 850~930 mPa?s. The coal water slurry could be perfectly jetted and burnt under different conditions. The higher density the DSD acid oxidation wastewater has, the better properties the coal water slurry have. The pollution components and characteristic group of DSD acid oxidation wastewater are similar to the additives of coal water slurry, so it could be used as a kind of usable additive of water coal slurry. It is so reasonable and feasible to make coal water slurry with DSD acid oxidation wastewater that the pollution of DSD acid oxidation wastewater can be solved completely.

A metallurgical complex to recover gold from highly refractory arsenical ore was recently commissioned by Sao Bento Mineraco. The plant, with a nominal capacity of 20 000 tonnes per month, is situated in the Minas Gerais province of Brazil. The process consists of run-of-mine milling, flotation, pressure oxidation of the concentrate, carbon-in-leach, elution and electrowinning, and effluent disposal. The paper provides an account of the investigations that resulted in the decision to install the pressure oxidation circuit, process and engineering design and plant start up. A comparison is made between the results achieved during the first two years of production and the design parameters.

The latter has a capacity of 907 000 tonnes per year of soda ash and is the subject of my presentation today.

Prior to 1950 Magma&apos;s ore production came from two parallel, steeply dipping, east-west striking mineralized faults, one called the Main or Magma vein, and the other the Koerner vein, which lay about 1100 feet to the south, This vein system has been explored and mined over 9000 feet horizontally and 4800 vertically. In 1950 continued exploration led to the discovery and subsequent development of replacement ore bodies in the Devonian limestone zones adjacent to the veins. These replacement deposits occur in the eastern part of the Magma Mine, and follow the strike and the 30" east dip of the host limestone. Strike length of the ore bodies varies from 250 to 500 ft., and thickness from 15 to 125 ft. The ore bodies are large tabular masses with chalcopyrite and bornite being the dominant ore minerals. Hematite and pyrite are the most abundant gangue minerals. Incompetent limestone, shale, or a porphyry sill hanging wall is charactertistic of substantial portions of the replacement beds. In many instances the ore itself is blocky, badly fractured, and intermixed with layers of limestone gouge, pyrite and hematite.

This paper deals with the heat flow problems in deep workings (depth greater than 1000 m in France). The approach benefitted from experience gathered in France and South Africa. Deep mines are located in the East of France (coal in Lorraine and potash in Alsace), where the geothermal gradient can reach 4 &apos;C per 100 m (Virgin Rock Temperatures, VRT, around 50 &apos;C). This paper is concerned with the following topics: method of studying the heat flow problem on a mine-wide basis, specific models for heat and moisture pick-up, interfacing of heat and ventilation calculations and a case history in the Lorraine collieries. The heat flow problem on a mine-wide basis is studied in a fashion similar to ventilation networks. Each branch is considered as a "black box" where the air picks up heat and moisture (or is cooled, in the case of an air-cooler). Each box is therefore modeled as a heat transfer unit, hence the calculation of outlet temperatures (wet- and dry-bulb) from the intake ones. The whole network can thus be computed as a sequence of boxes from the air intakes towards the outlets. The second section reviews a number of models used for the assessment of heat and moisture pick-up in the "boxes", with emphasis on stopes and development ends, which are particular to the mining method in use. Two types of stopes are considered: longwall (horizontal and inclined) and cut-and-fill (subvertical). Mechanized rock breaking and blasting can be accounted for. A particular attention is given to development ends, especially complex from the heat flow point of view (rock characteristics, wetness factors, etc.) and usually quite hot. These workings, which are critical in order to secure new production areas, are studied on an average basis as well as in extreme conditions. The calculation takes into account the history of rock temperatures. The interaction between ventilation and thermodynamic calculations is still under development. The idea consists of coupling ventilation calculations with the "box" models: the first step determines the direction of air flow, hence the sequence of the boxes; thereafter the calculations yield the effect of temperature and presssures on air flows. The final section reports on the validation of the whole approach against field data. It concerns several heat flow surveys aimed at checking the models for shafts, stopes and development ends. The accuracy of the method is found very satisfactory.

For some time a need had existed in the minerals processing field for a relatively efficient separator that would treat high tonnages of particles in the intermediate size range, i.e., those particles too large for froth flotation and too small for conventional gravity-type separa¬tors. Among those devices developed to meet this need are the centrifu¬gal specific gravity separators. These devices employ centrifugal acceleration to assist gravitational acceleration in separating light¬density minerals from heavy-density minerals. In the category of centrifugal specific gravity separators are the heavy-media centrifugal separator and the water-only cyclone. The two major centrifugal heavy-media separators, i.e., the heavy-media cyclone and the DynaWhirlpool, as well as the water-only cyclone, are discussed in terms of: design features, operating variables, operat¬ing data, and flowsheet design criteria. Examples of plant applications are given in the field of coal processing as well as the processing of other minerals such as iron ores, potash, and tin. Finally, the subject of the staging of centrifugal separators and their use in combination with other separators is discussed. PRINCIPLES For coarse sizes of minerals, efficient specific gravity separations have been possible for many years with open-bath vessels using the natural settling velocity or buoyancy of the particles. These bath ves¬sels process ore by utilizing micron-size solid particles suspended in the slurry fed to the separator. The inclusion of these particles in the slurry increases the effective density of the separating fluid to allow particle separations to be made at densities greater than that of water. However, if vessel size is to remain within economical limits, the particles processed in the bath vessel must have high settling rates in a IG gravitational field. Because of this requirement, heavy¬medium bath vessels are usually restricted to processing +V4-in. sizes. To extend efficient specific gravity separation to smaller sizes, the gravitational acceleration of particles is replaced by centrifugal acceleration. The settling of a small particle in a fluid in a centrifugal force field is similar to that found in a static bath except that the acceleration due to gravity, g, is replaced by a centrifugal acceleration where v, is the tangential velocity at radius r: V=kdm(P-P,), V&apos;. (J) µ In more practical terms where the particles settle in a suspension of finer particles comprising the heavy media and with an effective suspension density p" V = kdm&apos; (P P ) . v&apos;. (2) U r To date the most effective use of this principle has been obtained with devices that rotate a liquid or suspension within a stationary enclosure in order to create centrifugal force. Cyclones are the most common devices used for this purpose, because they generate centrifu¬gal forces far greater than the force of gravity and therefore not only have high capacities but can treat finer sizes than bath-type vessels can. The two main types of cyclones used by industry are the heavy-media cyclone and the water-only cyclone. Also quite widely used is the DynaWhirlpool, which, though based on the same princi¬ple, differs in design from the conventional cyclone. HEAVY-MEDIA CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATORS Like the bath vessels, the heavy-media centrifugal separators em¬ploy media composed of micron-size particles suspended in water. However, the centrifugal force generated in these separators accentu¬ates the difference in settling rate between particles of different density and thus makes possible separations of finer size particles than can be treated in bath vessels. The two most common heavy-media centri¬fugal separators are the heavy-media cyclone and the DynaWhirlpool. Heavy-Media Cyclone Although cyclones were originally developed for use as classifiers or thickeners, it was later found that they could also effectively serve as heavy-media separators.63. 64, Design Features Fig. I I is a schematic of a typical cyclone developed to serve for any one of the following purposes: as a classifier, thickener, or specific gravity separator. The cyclone consists of a cylindrical section joined to a conical section, usually having an included angle of between 14° and 25°. Feed enters the cyclone tangentially through an orifice attached to the cylindrical section. The overflow orifice is located in the base plate of the cylindrical section. The vortex finder, a tube attached to the overflow orifice, extends into the cyclone from the base plate of the cylindrical section. The underflow orifice is located at the apex of the conical section. As some medium together with mineral particles is fed through the feed orifice, a vortex with a hollow air core extending from the overflow to the underflow orifice forms in the cyclone while hollow spray discharges form at each of these orifices. Under the influence of the centrifugal force, high specific-gravity particles move through the medium to the wall of the cyclone and descend in a spiral flow pattern to the underflow orifice. Those particles in the feed stream, lower in specific gravity than the feed medium, follow the major portion of the flow to the center of the core where they are caught in the high-velocity upward central current and are carried out through the overflow orifice. Fig. 12 shows a family of curves that illustrates how materials of varying specific gravity are recovered by a cyclone. Since the specific gravity of the medium is 1.40, the particles of 1.40 sp gr actually act as part of the medium and, regardless of the particle size, split between the underflow and overflow of the cyclone in proportion to the volume split of the medium. Particles higher in specific gravity than 1.40 are recovered in the underflow of the cyclone at increasing rates as the difference in specific gravity increases and the particle size increases. Particles lower than 1.40 in specific gravity are dis¬charged through the overflow orifice at increasing rates as the specific¬gravity difference increases and the particle size increases. However, all the curves originate at the fluid-flow ratio point for the finest particles of any gravity. "This work presents a method for the precipitation of cobalt sulfate by alcohols, specifically ethanol and methanol. The effect of the initial concentration of cobalt, the volumetric ratio of alcohol to cobalt sulfate solution, the addition of sulfuric acid and ammonia, and the effects of common ions on the precipitation percentage were investigated. The performances of ethanol and methanol were compared in terms of the precipitation percentage of cobalt sulfate, and explanations for different performances are offered. In the sulfate-based solution, the alcohol was shown to displace water ligands from the first coordination sphere of the cobalt(II) cations, which led to the precipitation of the cobalt ions as cobalt sulfate heptahydrate. SEM analysis revealed that the particle sizes of the powders produced by this method are smaller than those of commercially available cobalt sulfate. The scientific literature contains no data on the solubility of cobalt sulfate in ethanol. In this study, the solubility product constant (Ksp) for cobalt sulfate was experimentally calculated to be approximately 1.15 x 10-5.IntroductionCobalt sulfate, which is one of the most important compounds of cobalt, is used in the electroplating and electrochemical industries. The addition of cobalt sulfate to nickel-plating baths makes the treated metals brighter, harder, smoother and more ductile (Armstrong et al., 1988). It is also used as a desiccant for lithographic inks, varnishes, paints and linoleum, as well as in storage batteries, e.g., nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) and lithium-ion (Li-ion) rechargeable batteries (Kang et al., 2010). Cobalt sulfate is employed as a coloring agent in ceramics, enamels and glazes to prevent discoloration and as a copigment for the decoration of porcelain. In addition, cobalt sulfate has been used in animal feeds as a mineral supplement (Budavari et al., 1996; Kirk and Othmer, 1999).In the past, brewers used cobalt sulfate to prolong the life of beer foam (Kesteloot et al., 1968). Ranchers have dosed livestock with cobalt sulfate or used fertilizer enriched with this mineral to ensure that their animals obtained sufficient amounts of the trace mineral, which is essential to the production of vitamin B12. Cobalt sulfate has also been used in veterinary medication to prevent and treat cobalt deficiency in ruminants, which causes a reduction in feed intake and body weight, accompanied by emaciation, anemia and debility.Cobalt sulfate is a water-soluble bivalent cobalt salt. Cobalt sulfate heptahydrate dehydrates entirely at 420° C, and the dehydrated salt forms red monoclinic crystals."

The results of diesel particulate matter (DPM) monitoring were used by the underground mining industry to mitigate adverse effects of exposure to DPM. NIOSH Method 5040, currently used for ambient and personal exposure monitoring, does not provide needed real-time information. The objective of this study is to develop a methodology for continuous monitoring of DPM concentrations in an underground environment, founded on the application of the Dekati electrical particle sensor (DePS). The DePS, which measures concentrations of submicron aerosol in real time using a diffusion-charging sensor, was evaluated by comparing the results of the concurrent measurements with reference methods at several locations downstream of the diesel-powered equipment. The DePS results were found to correlate well to those obtained by reference methods. However, it was found that dependence of the response on the physical and chemical properties of aerosols necessitates sitespecific correlation factors for the targeted matrices. The site-specific factors for number and mass of diesel aerosols were derived using the results of concurrent measurements with TSI NanoScan, FLIR Airtec, and carbon analyses performed on the concurrently collected filter samples. The results showed that methodology based on compensated DePS measurements would be suitable for continuous monitoring of DPM in underground mining operations.

"The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of reduction temperature, reduction time and binary basicity on the size of metallic iron particles in coal-based reduction products of an oolitic iron ore. The particle size distribution behavior (i.e., cumulative passing percentage and mean size of metallic iron particles) during reduction was investigated in detail. Results showed that the particle size distribution of metallic iron particles was strongly influenced by reduction temperature, reduction time and binary basicity. The cumulative passing percentage and mean size significantly increased with reduction temperature and time in the entire range of the experiments. All curves of cumulative passing percentage versus particle size under different conditions demonstrated a similar trend (continuous increase). The size distribution parameters and mean size slightly increased with increasing binary basicity and significantly decreased when the binary basicity exceeded 1.0. The size of metallic iron particles could be controlled by adjusting the reduction conditions during coal-based reduction.IntroductionThe increasing demand for iron ore coupled with diminishing high-grade iron ore reserves has resulted in the urgent need for innovative technologies in order to use refractory iron ores. Oolitic iron ore is a typical refractory iron ore with tremendous abundance globally. Based on published literature, oolitic iron ore reserves are approximately 140 million tons in Europe, 10 billion tons in China and 66 million tons in Pakistan (Kazmi and Abbas, 2001; Wu et al., 2011; Yu and Qi, 2011; Sun et al., 2013a). Therefore, the efficient exploration and use of oolitic iron ore resources can play a significant role in easing the mineral resource crisis in the iron and steel industry. However, oolitic iron ore cannot be effectively upgraded by traditional beneficiation methods due to its mineralogical characteristics (e.g., low grade of iron, poor liberation of iron minerals and high phosphorus content) (Li et al., 2011b; Sun et al., 2013b).Researchers recently proposed coal-based reduction followed by magnetic separation to recover iron from refractory iron ores (especially oolitic iron ore) and a certain degree of breakthrough was achieved in both theory and practice. In this technology, iron minerals in the ore are directly reduced by coal to metallic iron, which grows into particles of different sizes. After comminution and liberation, metallic iron is concentrated by magnetic separation (Srivastava and Kawatra, 2009; Sun et al., 2013a; Li et al., 2011b; Sun et al., 2013b; Li et al., 2011c; Gao et al., 2013). Sun et al. and Gao et al. used this technology to examine the recovery of iron from oolitic and Bayan Obo iron ores, respectively (Sun et al., 2013a; Li et al., 2011b; Li et al., 2011c). Metallic iron powder with more than 90% iron content was obtained as the final product, which could be used directly in steel production."

In 2007, Rosebud Mining Company (RMC) opted to extend the reserve base of Tracy Lynne Mine by developing through a sandstone channel. The extension provided access to approximately 6 million additional recoverable tons (approximately 8 years of mining) which originally had been deemed inaccessible. An evaluation of the mine?s existing ventilation system, which was designed to meet the needs of the original limited reserve, concluded that two ventilation shafts would likely be required to adequately ventilate the projected workings in the expanded reserve. To assist in the evaluation, a ventilation model of the mine was developed using Ohio Automation?s ?ICAMPS MineVent? software based on field data from Tracy Lynne Mine, prior ventilation survey experience at similar RMC mines, and relevant published sources. Model results suggested that the most economical shafts would be an 8-ft diameter return and a 4-ft diameter intake. Unfortunately, issues related to property leasing and shaft site permitting caused construction delays. Therefore, the model was also used and proved to be effective in prioritizing interim ventilation upgrades which could be implemented in order to maintain coal production. Model results indicated that the best interim upgrades included rehabilitating restricted entries and damaged stoppings and replacing the main fan with a higher pressure fan. From late 2010 to mid-2012, all interim upgrades and shafts were implemented. Current models and mine experience indicate that ventilation will not be the limiting factor for mining the additional reserve.

A test section of the upper most lift and underlying lifts of a large scale copper heap leach operation was instrumented and monitored with advanced wireline geophysics, fiber optics and resistivity electrode arrays. Elemental Capture Spectroscopy (ESC) copper measurements, resistivity measurements from an Array Induction Tool (AIT), electrical resistivity tomography (ERT) and distributed temperature sensing (DTS) with fiber optics provided integrated near real time data about the performance of the heap. During the leaching cycle, ECS provided continuous vertical measurements of copper in the upper most and underlying lifts in the test section of the heap and was used to generate a copper recovery curve. ERT inversion modeling provided high resolution 3D resistivity measurements, which were used to evaluate moisture distribution. DTS measurements of temperature were used to track the PLS front and calculate velocity. AIT induction provided highly precise bulk resistivity measurements. In-situ samplers provided PLS chemistry at multiple points. Properly integrated monitoring data can provide the heap leach operator with information that can be used to evaluate the hydrodynamics and metallurgy of the leaching process in near real time. Problems in the heap, such as pooling, channeling, longer lag and breakthrough times, excess acid consumption, increased solution in inventory, toe saturation and slope stability can be detected in near real time with the in-situ measurements evaluated.

The new regulations for the bituminous coal mining industry, issued by the mining authorities of the Federal Republic of Germany, are aimed at reducing to a feasible minimum any development of the coal workers pneumoconiosis (CWP) by lowering the admissible dust exposure of mine workers. Additional and improved measures of dust suppression and job assignment control *) are required for the purpose In this connection two basically different demands are placed on dust measurements: As far as dust suppression is concerned, the causes of dust development and the effectiveness of methods applied to reduce dust concentrations have to be identified, whereas with regard to the control of job assignment, the dust exposure of mine workers has to be depermined. Demands placed on dust measurements -- specifically for determining dust exposure -- are liable to become more severe since the threshold limit values were considerably reduced in these last years and since any additional dust suppression measures as well as a purposeful job assignment to certain mine workers are dependent on relevant measuring data. Therefore, research work has been carried out with the objective of measuring and evaluating, in terms of their effect (i. e. their incidence on the development of a CWP), size distribution, concentration, and specific noxiousness of any prevailing dust conditions.
