During the year 1942 there were 66 wildcats drilling in Mississippi. One cored in oil sand, the Macro Drilling Company's Longbell No. I in Clarke County, but as yet it has not succeeded in recovering the oil. Those in charge of the Second Pan-American Financial Conference say that the engineering profession will be well represented at the Janu-ary conference in Washington. Latin American engineers are more closely connected with important industrial projects and have a greater command in matters pertaining to the developments on which they are working than is the case in the United States. Our own engineering profession may. therefore do well to study the Latin-American plan of cooperation between capital and the engineers.
