El presente trabajo describe una forma de financiamiento en la minería a través del mercado de valores. Es decir, que desde un análisis del sector minero se busca convertir las reservas minerales probadas en un patrimonio fideicometido que avale una emisión de bonos titulizados. En este sentido, las reservas minerales por sí mismas carecen de valor económico pero se pueden valorizar con un proyecto de factibilidad futuro, cuya titulización de reservas minerales, se convertirá en una herramienta de financiamiento alternativa o complementaria a la BVL Venture Exchange. Po ello, el financiamiento que se obtenga a través del mercado de valores se destinaría a la ejecución del proyecto minero junior o para expandir uno en producción.

For mine closure, the prospect of treating mine drainage in near-perpetuity can be onerous – especially when flow rates are high. One closure option is to construct tunnel plugs within the adits to flood the mine and reduce discharge volumes. Flooding reduces oxygen access within the mine and hence ARD potential. It also reduces hydraulic gradients such that uncontaminated groundwater is not drawn toward open, acid-generating areas of the mine/orebody. Evaluation of the technical and economic feasibility of permanently sealing mine tunnels necessitates detailed hydrogeological and geotechnical investigations. The capital costs associated with tunnel plugs may be relatively high, and there are ongoing maintenance requirements, risk of significant leakage and even risk of catastrophic failure if improperly designed or constructed. In this sense, the paper point put the means available for assessing the liabilities associated with adits at project start up, and the options available for closure of existing adits to reduce long-term environmental liabilities.

El cálculo de investigación de la mina tiene por objetivo investigar los procedimientos necesarios para que por determinadas galerías (generalmente talleres) circule un caudal de aire suficiente para hacer posible el trabajo en dichos puntos. The nature of the gold-bearing fluid and the source of gold in sedimentary-hosted gold deposits of Carlin, orogenic or epithermal types is still matter of debate. Most authors point to magmatic/ metamorphic origin for the fluids, however, the properties of such fluids and their interactions with organic carbon – a common component in this type of deposits – are not sufficiently well known. Here we present a large set of novel geochemical, mineralogical and fluid-inclusion data obtained from the Algamarca Au-Ag-Cu epithermal veins, corresponding to lateral manifestation of the neighbouring sedimentary-hosted epithermal-gold deposit at Shahuindo.

Imaging tools such as the acoustic and optical televiewer are now being used to collect real time, high resolution, oriented fracture and bedding data. Drill holes 100’s of meters deep can be processed very quickly using automated structure picking software and borehole core samples can be digitally logged instead of using paper and pencil.

The La Quinua mill at the Yanacocha mine in Peru has a thickened tailings storage facility that is contained entirely within an active heap leach pad. In this respect, it is unique and unprecedented in the mining industry and provides the operator, Minera Yanacocha S.R.L. (MYRSL), with certain cost, land-use and closure efficiencies. The combined design requires that the leach ore embankments retaining the tailings provide the same high level of stability and security required of major tailings dams. Contrary to standard tailings dam construction, the leach ore in these embankments is placed in thick, uncompacted lifts so that they maintain adequate permeability for leaching. The resultant loose structure makes static and dynamic liquefaction a critical issue, and the key design principle for avoiding a liquefaction related failure is to keep the ore that is saturated or very near saturated when under leach well removed from the outer faces of the embankments and contained behind large unsaturated structural shells.
