"Ores of ferrous metals traditionally make up the bulk of recoverable reserves of solid minerals, and iron ore concentrates - in the processing and consumption. To obtain concentrates, three main methods are used: dry and wet magnetic separation, gravity and flotation. But even their integration into complex developed schemes with finishing operations often do not solve the problem of obtaining high-quality concentrates, which are necessary for powder metallurgy and electric steelmaking. Increasing the iron content in the concentrate by removing harmful impurities is the goal of this work. The possibility of reducing the operations of wet magnetic separation twice and completely eliminating concentrating operations in ball mills from the scheme of operations has been established. Selective leaching agents for each type of iron ores have been created, allowing to obtain concentrates with an iron content of not less than 68-69% and negligible concentrations of harmful impurities. Methodical recommendations for long-term storage of bioreagents in the active state, their immobilization and preparation in industrial conditions at the enterprise Nedropolzovatelja are developed. The proposed biotechnology, which allows to obtain high quality iron and conditional concentrates for harmful impurities, is protected by patents (RU 2537684 ""Method for fine-tuning of high-sulfur magnetite concentrate"" for magnetite ores and Pat. RU 2599068. For the industrial implementation of the new technology, organizational and technological measures have been developed in the system with Road maps for types of ores. The developed technology makes it possible to condition noble metal, tin, tungsten, nickel and other concentrates in harmful impurities such as arsenic, antimony, mercury, sulfur, copper, zinc, iron, phosphorus, manganese, in total 30 components that pass into solution under the influence of bioreagents.INTRODUCTION Consumption of various metals is steadily increasing every year, the volume of mining is constantly increasing. Ores of ferrous metals traditionally make up the bulk of the recoverable reserves of solid minerals. Enrichment technologies for iron-containing ores are reduced to the combination of three main methods: wet and dry magnetic separation, gravity and flotation. But even the use of complex advanced technological schemes often does not lead to the production of high-quality concentrates suitable for metallurgical processing. In this case, either lapping operations or effective technical and technological solutions are used in the main enrichment cycle. Widely used in practice methods for improving the quality of iron ore concentrates include the use of finishing operations (fine screening, reverse cation flotation), staging of concentrates, the use of more sophisticated equipment (separators with running magnetic field, magnetic gravity classifiers, column flotation machines)."

"Processing of the tailings accumulated over the lifetime of Madneuli Copper Concentrator is an opportunity to extract additional salable copper and gold products. This paper presents a pre-concentration process for the valuable components (copper and gold) of the accumulated tailings. The developed process makes it possible to obtain a copper pyrite concentrate with a yield of 14.05%, copper grade of 1.36%, and recovery of 83.22% containing 3.78 g/ton of gold at a recovery of 84.31%. The bulk concentrate is produced by a combined process bringing together selective flotation to produce salable copper concentrate and hydrometallurgical processing of the selective flotation tailings to recover gold. KEYWORDS: FLOTATION, ALBION PROCESS, LEACHING, COPPER CONCENTRATE, SELECTION Madneuli Copper Concentrator, Georgia, was put into operation in 1975. Over its lifetime, 40 mn tons of tailings have been accumulated at the tailings storage facility (TSF). Sampling of the TSF has indicated that the average copper and gold grade is 0.23% and 0.56-0.65 g/ton, respectively. Accordingly, the TSF can be classified as a technogenic reserve. This paper discusses pre-concentration of valuable components using flotation, followed by processing of the bulk concentrate in the Albion process. Mineralogical analysis of the accumulated tailings showed that the main ore mineral is pyrite (11.71%). Copper minerals are mainly represented by chalcopyrite (0.7%). The main nonmetallic mineral is quartz (67.3%); sericite, chlorites, etc. also occur. Pyrite is present both as liberated grains and intergrowth. The absolute majority of copper minerals are found as intergrowth with pyrite, less often with quartz. Ore minerals are slightly oxidized. Chemical analysis results are shown in Table 1. Particle size distribution shows that the size class -0.2 mm - 0.045 mm has the highest grade of 0.85 to 0.97 g/ton of gold. Size class +1.25 mm has the lowest grade. Based on the chemical and mineralogical studies and particle size distribution, an optimized process was developed for pre-concentration of the valuable components prior to hydrometallurgical processing. The results of the test work of four treatment options of three refractory gold-pyrite and gold-arsenic flotation concentrates are presented. These concentrates were obtained during the concentration of primary ores of large gold deposits. It was found that ultrafine grinding of refractory flotation concentrates did not increase the recovery of gold during subsequent cyanidation. The elimination of sulfur and arsenic during oxidative roasting is 99 per cent. 88-93 per cent of gold is recovered by cyanidation from calcines. After biooxidation of the flotation concentrates with a mixture of strains Acidithiobacillus thiooxidans and Acidithiobacillus ferrooxidans 88-91 per cent of gold is recoverable by direct cyanidation. The recovery of gold from flotation concentrates by pressure oxidation is 88-99 per cent. These results suggest that gold recovery is important but the following strategies would have an impact on a plant performance and would be considered when developing an option to treat refractory ores: capital and operating costs, ore reserves, mine location, infrastructure and qualified staff. "The paper describes the results of the study of gold-copper flotation concentrate atmospheric oxidation at different sizes of material, varying oxidation time, with air or oxygen blow. The study showed the low rate of sulphide oxidation during oxidation of flotation concentrate at a feed size (P98 -74 µm). The coppery recovery into solution was 48%; the recovery of gold by subsequent cyanidation reached 86%. Preliminary flotation concentrate grinding to P98 -20 µm provided oxidation of 90% of copper minerals, 80% of arsenopyrite and 15% of pyrite. The gold recovery by atmospheric oxidation of a fine-ground flotation concentrate increased by 59%, from 36% to 95%, the NaCN consumption reduced by 21 kg/t, from 30 to 9 kg/t. INTRODUCTION Processing of sulphide gold-copper ores and concentrates using conventional cyanidation technology results in higher reagent consumption and lower gold recovery. Destruction of sulphide minerals and extraction of copper from a processed product prior to cyanidation is essential for improving efficiency of precious metals recovery and reducing main reagents consumption. Atmospheric oxidation (AO) is one of the most promising hydrometallurgical methods of refractory gold-copper concentrates processing, along with biooxidation and pressure oxidation. The nature of this approach lies in oxidation of sulphides at 90-95°C, in acidic or alkaline conditions, with bubbling of oxygen or air, after preliminary ultrafine grinding (1-4). The following reactions of sulphide oxidation occur during atmospheric oxidation of a gold-copper flotation concentrate. Pyrite is oxidized with the formation of ferric sulphate (1) and elemental sulphur at low temperatures (2), whereas some portion of elemental sulphur reacts to form sulphuric acid: FeS2+3,75O2+0,5H2O=0,5Fe2(SO4)3+0,5H2SO4; ?G=-1144,02 kJ/mol (1)"

The ash contents in coal particles were examined in the paper dependably on particle size and its density. So, the two-dimensional regressive function Z=Z(?, D) was the searched object, where Z is random variable describing ash contents, ? - density and D ? particle diameter. This dependence is determined basing on experimental data concerning the coal of type 31. For this coal, the method of ordinary kriging is applied to calculate the values of a random variable Z. This method requires the proper selection of so-called variogram function, which 4 forms are considered in this paper in purpose to select the best solution. The given results were then evaluated by the residual deviation value and so compared with empirical data.

Coal mining activity is inextricably connected to waste production. These include coal slurries deposited in environment. Current knowledge in the field of mining and especially mineral processing allows extracting valuable fuel from deposit coal slurries. The article discusses of previous works devoted to coal slurries inventory in Jankowice Mine in Poland (Upper Silesia) and quality assessment of coal slurries. 12 samples of coal slurries deposited in waste pond of Jankowice Mine was taken for the investigation. The paper is mainly about a study on the techniques of separating iron from pyrite cinder of a certain sulfuric acid plant in Shandong province. The main components of the cinder are Fe2O3 and SiO2, and the degree of liberation of iron mineral and gangue is very high. So the iron concentrate with higher degree of iron and lower grade of silicon and sulfur can be achieved by reverse flotation. The iron grade of the concentrate reaches 63% and the recovery of iron is no less than 63%. And the most important influencing factor of the flotation is the temperature of the pulp. A better guideline can be achieved by magnetic separation. The cinder is magnetizing roasted for 15 minutes with temperature of 800?, and the concentrate with the iron grade 64%, sulfur grade 0.2% and iron recovery 85% can be obtained by two stage magnetic separation. A rotary kiln has been built to deal with the pyrite cinder, and the result of the industrial magnetizing experiment and magnetic separation is satisfying.

For the moment reserves of high-grade ores are practically depleted requiring ever-increased involvement of low assay raw materials, such as black-shale ores, in industrial operations. Black-shale ores are constituted of minerals containing such valuable components as vanadium, uranium, molybdenum, manganese, and rare-earth elements (REE). We studied technogenic solutions of black-shale ores processing, after uranium, molybdenum, and vanadium were recovered. Mentioned solutions contain rare-earth elements in substantial quantities (S REE 70-100 mg/dm3) that is very important factor taking into consideration the world demand ever-increasing last years. Higher concentrations of iron and aluminum inhibiting REE sorption and extraction recovery are found in solutions. We propose a method of hydrolytic deposition to cleaning solutions from impurity elements (Fe, Al). Study of hydrolytic deposition kinetics allowed identifying optimal conditions to run this process. Rare-earth elements may be recovered from purified solutions through sorption process followed by their further deposition from eluates in form of concentrates. To extract the gold from refractory gold concentrate with high sulfur and arsenic, the gold concentrate was catalytically oxidized to expose the gold for cyanide leaching. The effects of reaction temperature, initial nitric acid concentration, reaction time and initial gold concentrate concentration on the conversion rate were studied. The results show that the appropriate conditions for the catalytical oxidation of this gold concentrate are: reaction temperature of 65 oC; initial nitric acid concentration of 25% (wt.); reaction time of 1.5 hours; initial gold concentrate concentration of 10% (wt.). Under such conditions, the conversion rate of gold concentrate is 92%. The solution can be used to prepare nano-iron oxide red pigment. Gases released in the process can be recycled and reused by oxidation absorption. A chemical background of catalytic oxidation is proposed.

"The proportion of refractory sulphide ores and concentrates in world gold mining industry is growing every year. Pressure oxidation of these materials (in autoclave) allows to oxidize gold hosting minerals. Traces of halides and pseudohalides present in the slurry liquids contribute to formation of complex gold compounds. Sorption-active carbon present in ores leads to irreversible adsorption of complex gold compounds and their loss. The objective of the research is to study gold extraction dependence on the concentration of chloride-, cyanide- and thiocyanate-ions in the slurry liquids during pressure oxidation. Double refractory flotation concentrate of the Bakyrchik deposit was used for the testwork. The research was planned on the basis of a full factorial experimental design with additional refining experiments. Ligand concentrations (0 – 1000 mg/l Cl-, 0 – 600 mg/l CN-, 0 – 1200 mg/l of SCN-), temperature (200 – 240 °?) and retention time (1 – 6 h) were used as variables of pressure oxidation process. It was determined that sulfide minerals oxidize much faster than ""organic"" carbon. Under the conditions of T = 240 ?C, t = 2 h, sulphide sulfur oxidation was 95.6%, while ""organic"" carbon oxidation was 46.1 %. Each of the examined ligands has a significant adverse impact on gold extraction. Analysis of the experimental data demonstrated that with a high degree of confidence (R2 = 0.883) gold extraction does not depend on the ligand type, but only on its concentration and the ""organic"" carbon oxidation degree. In case of complete oxidation of ""organic"" carbon, the presence of the ligand (L = Cl-, CNS-, CN-) in the liquids at a concentration of up to 20 millimole/L does not significantly affect gold extraction. The assumption that the main factor of preg-robbing in ???-CIL treatment of double refractory concentrates is the natural ""organic"" carbon sorption-active to gold has been confirmed. INTRODUCTION In recent decades, placer gold mining has been gradually declining and hardrock gold mining, including ""refractory"" gold mining, has been growing all over the world, as well as in the Russian Federation (http://www.miningworld.ru, 2015). One of the main reasons why gold ores are refractory is gold adsorption on natural carbonaceous materials (""organic carbon""). Only a few technologies are suitable for processing such ore concentrates (a significant amount of gold is contained in refractory hardrock ore both in Russia and worldwide) (Vorob'yev-Desyatovskiy N.V., Yepifanov A.V., 2014)."

"The grade of copper ore and concentrate is recently decreasing and it will continues decrease further in the future. The effective liberation treatment for low grade copper ore and the removal of arsenic from copper concentrate is becoming even more important. In this work, the magnetic separation of copper concentrate by heat treatment and the flotation of low grade copper ore by microwave irradiation was studied. The heat treatment of copper minerals in the air atmosphere, the magnetization of most copper minerals increases and especially the magnetization of chalcopyrite shows the largest magnetization, after being heated at 500 oC. The wet HGMS of copper concentrate has been studied and the results have then been compared with the ones when calcined concentrate was used instead. The microwave treatment before ball milling increased the degree of liberation up to 100%, especially when compared with the case when only ball mill was applied to the as-received ore. The flotation of ground copper ore after microwave irradiation showed that the grade copper minerals such as chalcosite and bornite in froth part is much larger than that of tailing part.INTRODUCTION The copper has been used many kind of technological fields and will be more important for the future technology. The global copper production from mine is predicted as shown in Figure 1 (Northey, S. 2014). The copper production peak will be appeared in 2030 and the demand peaks in 2040. In the future the recycling of stocked copper and copper alloy will be necessary to satisfy the demand (Yoshimura, A. 2018). Changes in the grade of copper in copper concentrate, exported from several countries are shown in Figure 2. The copper grade in copper concentrate after mineral processing is gradually decreases every year and it is less than 30% nowadays. On the other hand, the copper ore grade change and prediction are shown in Figure 3. The grade of copper ore is also decreasing to less than 1% in 2010 (Northey, S. 2014). In the future the copper grade gradually decreases, reaching to less than 0.5% in 2080 and the energy to produce the copper metal will increase. The effective liberation treatment for low grade copper ore and the removal of arsenic from copper minerals become more important, nowadays. The microwave irradiation of copper ore for the liberation, energy etc. has been reported by several researchers (for example, Batchelor, A.R. 2017). The magnetization change of copper ore by heating has been reported to remove the arsenic (Sawada, M 2015). In this report, the magnetic separation of copper concentrate by heat treatment and the flotation of copper concentrate by microwave irradiation are discussed after the characteristics of secondary copper minerals are investigated by these treatments."

29% of the total ore mined in the Russian Federation for copper production is finely disseminated copper-zinc-pyrite ores of the Ural Region. Physical and chemical characteristics of pyrite copper-zinc ores make for difficulties in obtaining high indices during processing. At present, the authors have elaborated the technology to improve the quality of copper concentrates up to 20.0% for the ones obtained during pyrite copper-zinc ore processing (based on the example of the ore mining and processing enterprise ?Uchalinsky GOK?, Russian Federation). There are examples of use of fair-sized pneumo-mechanical flotation machines by modernization of processing plants. Beneficiation of the pyrite concentrate of the Kastomonu-Küre (Northern Turkey) copper ore seems to be attractive due to its high Cu, Co, and Zn contents. Pyrite concentrate were used in the experimental studies. Cu, Co, and Zn were recovered from the concentrate by the sulphatizing roasting, leaching and the precipitation using H2S. Sulphatizing roasting experiments were carried out in a rotary furnace and the optimal roasting conditions were found to be at 650°C roasting temperature and 3.0 h roasting period and addition of Na2SO4 of 3 % for the concentrate containing 0.58% Cu, 0.22% Co, and 0.04% Zn. Then, the roasted product was repeatedly leached with 10 g/L H2SO4 solution. Optimal conditions were found to be 60 oC leaching temperature, 2 h leaching period, and 30% pulp density. Leaching efficiencies for Cu and Co were over 99 %. The valuable metals in the pregnant solution were selectively precipitated by H2S as sulfides. Selective precipitation of Cu, Zn, Co was achieved by adjusting the pH and the temperature of the leach solution. Final metal recoveries of 99.20% Cu, 99.40% Co, and 95.60% Zn were attained. The precipitated sulphides are marketable products. Roasting gases with their 15% SO2 content are suitable for the production of H2SO4 and the leach residues can be integrated with the iron ore processing plant as they contain 57.50 % Fe, 17.70% gangue (SiO2, CaO, etc.), 0.04% S, and 0.06% non-ferrous metals.

The dissemination grain size of chalcopyrite is really fine and refractory grains of -10µm take up 25%. Dissemination relationships among chalcopyrite with pyrrhotite, pyrite, marcasite and gangue minerals are complex. Content of Fe-bearing sulphides and Fe-bearing silicates associated with chalcopyrite reaches to about 60%. It’s hard to liberate and separate chalcopyrite from pyrrhotite. The above four are the main mineral processing difficulties of a copper ore in China. Because of the similar floatability and poor separation effect between chalcopyrite and pyrrhotite, enhanced depressing and collecting method was adopted in Cu-S separation before 2009. Due to the different magnetism among chalcopyrite, pyrrhotite and Fe-bearing silicates, magnetic separation is creatively induced in Cu floatation circuit based on the in-depth study of process mineralogy. High efficiency and new Cu-S separation technology of "Rough concentrate regrinding-pyrrhotite rejecting from middling by magnetic separation" and a highly selective copper minerals collector YL-1 had been developed to solve the difficult problems of refractory Cu-S separation, which are heavy load of middling recirculation,difficulty in upgrading Cu concentrate, unstable locked cycle and low separation indexes. And grade of Cu concentrate has been increased by 3.33%, recovery of Cu and Ag has been increased by 19.32% and 10% respectively.

We studied the feasibility of automated mineralogy to discriminate between tennantite and enargite, the main sulfosalts found in the Rio Blanco deposit, Codelco-Chile, in order to predict the content of minor elements (As, Sb, Ag, Pb, Zn) that impact on the process and concentrate prices. The identification of these minerals is feasible using traditional microscopy, however not possible by automated mineralogy. This drawback prevents comparing the databases generated in the past by means of conventional microscopy with the information obtained at present by QEMSCAN. To differentiate enargite from tennantite the mineral composition of both sulfosalts was studied by electron microprobe. The presence of associated minor element contents of about 8% zinc in tennantites and not exceeding 0.07% in enargites were used to modify the SIP database of QEMSCAN to enable the quantification of these phases in samples of head, residue and concentrate coming from As-bearing domains of the deposits. Detection limits allowed to determine the mineral species in the head, concentrate and residues. The integration of methodologies such as automated mineralogy and microprobe can be used successfully to quantify the presence of some ore forming solid solution.

Flotation is an operation widely used in mineral processing because of its aptitude to recover minerals of interest very efficiently. Flotation is often responsible for making possible the exploitation of mineral deposits of low concentration. In flotation various processes phenomena occur, some of which have still not been explained scientifically. Due to this fact, there are no models that can be widely applied in flotation control. Thus, in most cases, the control is done by experienced operators who are able to visually classify the types of foam into different categories and each one of them is associated with an operating actuation. In this situation, image analysis is configured as a solution that has already been employed in several ways. In this paper, a control strategy based on the colour of froth on a direct flotation of a nonferrous metal is presented. Moreover, the paper reveals the theoretical basis of the method, the critical points, difficulties and improvements that can be implemented. Data of grade were collected from the mineral of interest and RGB (red, green and blue) data of final concentrate of the froth. The mineral grade was collected and analysed during one month of operation and RGB was obtained using a camera. It was verified that the red colour showed the same trend of the grade curve in the concentrate. Thus, the use of this online data in optimising control was introduced. The laboratory grade is used to calibrate the colour set point. Therefore, it was possible to monitor in real time the trend of enrichment and depletion of a non-ferrous mineral in a flotation. It was possible to establish an online control strategy based on simple data acquisition. The result was an increase of 10% on production.

It is a well-known fact that usage of reverse cationic flotation in magnetite ores processing enables to improve the quality of magnetite concentrates. We designed an iron ore concentrate technology (with 70 -71 % of iron) including reverse cationic flotation in pneumo-mechanical flotators RIF (developed by RIVS Corporation, Russia) with good biodegradable etheramines as collectors for flotation of quartz. Practical application of high biodegradable flotation reagents decreases environmental impact risk of objects and enterprises of mining industrial complex. This work presents results of development of flotation technology for production of high quality ferruginous concentrates from magnetite ores of Russia and Ukraine deposits. "Steam Pressure Filtration (SPF) is a modified cake filtration process and is characterized by both washing and excellent de-watering of the filter cake. Compared to conventional gas differential pressure filtration, the filter cake is treated with saturated or superheated steam replacing pressurized air. Invented in the early last century, Steam Pressure Filtration has reached technical maturity in the 1990ies for inorganic particle systems, fine chemicals and coal. Especially the de-watering performance for fine particles systems below 50 µm make Steam Pressure Filtration an excellent option for the processing of fine tailings streams, to produce a stable material, which can be described by the methods of solids mechanics instead of paste rheology. The washing, which is due to the condensing steam, is able to reduce the ion load of the solid. This additional effect is able to generate a dry tailings material, which shows a reduced leaching potential of mobile ions, which originally derive from the process water. INTRODUCTION Steam Pressure Filtration is a process concept especially of hyperbaric filtration, which started its market entry in the 1990ies (Bott 1996, Bott 2002). Even though there have been many attempts to apply steam on filters before, the success story began with the combination of hyperbaric filtration and steam application and the technical solution to limit the steam treatment to a defined zone on the filter. This resulted from the scientific findings that steam mainly enhances the de-watering during the mechanical filtration (Gerl 1999). There are no or minor positive effects of steam application to a filtration process during cake filtration and after the steam breakthrough has occurred. Furthermore that time a sufficient control technology to regulate the steam consumption as well as suitable filter cloths became available. There is a growing need for de-watering technology in the mining industry, not only for the concentrate but also for the tailings streams. Several reasons argue against the established solution of damping the tails as suspension or paste into tailings ponds. There are ecological, political, societal and economic reasons, which question the tailings ponds more and more. Due to the increasing costs in the building and monitoring of tailings dams, which contain the tailing ponds, the concept of dry stocking using filtration technology comes into the game (Jansson 2016). Dry stocking converts the tailings stream form the suspension or paste state, into a material, which can be stockpiled. The latter typically is a moist flowable disperse particle system. The conversion involves a de-watering step, in which different types of filter equipment can be used, e.g. filter presses, membrane filter presses, automatic press filters or hyperbaric filters. For coarse products also vacuum filter can be applied. Due to its excellent de-watering performance and the easy scale-up properties Steam Pressure Filtration is further option for dry tailings stacking."

"The present paper contains study results of gold morphology and grain size distribution in flotation concentrates produced from original ore samples from deposits of different genesis. Pre-concentration methods were used with selective dissolution of rock minerals and mineral heavy medium separation to obtain statistically valid data on gold grain size and morphology in concentration products. Special attention is given to study of flash flotation concentrates that is mainly used for coarse gold, underextracted in gravity circuit. Analysis of geometrical optics has allowed to establish that during flash flotation gold grains more than 150 µm can be extracted from 10 to 35%, and in some cases single gold grains above 300 µm. INTRODUCTION Distinctive features of gold that have a significant impact, and in some cases, decisive influence on its recovery into saleable products are mineral shape, grain size and morphology of metal particles, paragenetic associations of gold. Peculiar feature of coarse gold is its easy extraction during grinding from associated mineral components like quartz, sulphide and other and almost complete recovery into gravity concentrates (Lodeischikov V.V., 1997). Morphology of native gold is so diverse that different gold grains are better extracted using different methods of concentration. Compacted and rounded particles are easily processed using gravity concentration but low cyanidable and hard to process using flotation. On the contrary, lamellar, flake, dendrite and capillary aggregates of high specific surface are easily cyanidable and under definite conditions it has strong floatability (Lodeischikov V.V., 1997). Flotation of gold-containing sulphide minerals and free gold takes place simultaneously during flotation concentration. In case of low-sulphide ores, native gold takes the basic load, having the high density (15.6 to 18.3 g/cm3, for pure gold – 19.3 g/cm3) it has limited size and morphology for successful flotation. It is known that flake gold and fine-grained gold up to 0.1 mm are easily extracted (Lodeischikov V.V., 1997). Authors of the present paper performed a study of gold granulometry and morphology in flotation concentrates produced from gold-containing ores from two deposits of different types: gold-copper oxidized hematite ores and low-sulphide gold-quartz ores. Ores are different by both host rock composition, mineralogical and petrographic features, gold grade in mineral assemblage and morphology and size of precious metal. Common for both ore types is low-sulphide content and presence of free gold."

"The article presents the results of precious metals leaching using halogen solvents and their precipitation on a sorbent in the process of pressure oxidation. A technology of pressure oxidation – carbon-in-leach treatment (POX-CIL) of refractory sulphide gold-bearing flotation concentrates with the addition of a halogen solvent and a sorbent was developed based on the laboratory studies and pilot plant tests. The technology involves the following steps: oxidation of a flotation concentrate; precious metals dissolution and recovery on a sorbent; precious metals elution; electrolysis of eluates; smelting of cathode precipitates with producing Dore beads. This approach ensures oxidation at least 98% of sulphides and gold of more than 95%. The POX-CIL process have the following patents: a patent of the Eurasian Patent Organization No.017438 “A method of processing materials containing precious metals and sulphides” and a patent of the Russian Federation No.2625146 “A method of precious metals recovery from refractory sulphide gold-bearing materials”.INTRODUCTION Gold-bearing ores are classified as readily amenable to cyanidation, or non-refractory, and not readily amenable to cyanidation, or refractory [1]. Special attention should be given to the three most common technological types of gold-bearing ore materials, according to the Irgiredmet’s classification: pyrite-arsenopyrite ores with finely disseminated gold locked in sulphides (physical depression of gold in cyanidation process); cupriferous gold-bearing ores, when cyanidation comes along with chemical depression of gold by mineral compounds (cyanisides); carbonaceous ores showing higher sorption activity to precious metals dissolved in cyanide. Direct cyanidation of refractory sulphide gold-bearing materials does not provide high recovery of precious metals. There are the following methods of refractory gold-bearing ores and concentrates preparation to subsequent gold recovery: roasting, fine grinding, bacterial and pressure oxidation (POX) [2]. Existing POX-cyanidation flowsheets involve high costs due to a large amount of process operations and using expensive and environmentally hazardous sodium cyanide."
