The modern coal mining industry is subject to a vast array of regulations affecting virtually all aspects of its operations. Probably the most significant over-sight role involves the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSH) established by the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act, or SHCRA.1 Although complying and coping with SHCRA can be difficult for coal operators, this complex regulatory process has helped insulate the industry from ongoing efforts to extend regulation under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, or RCRA, 2 to aspects of the mining industry in general. The Environ-mental Protection Agency (EPA) has struggled with regulation of mining wastes under RCRA since the mid-1970's, but RCRA itself places most coal mining wastes firmly under the control of OSH and SHCRA. Despite the general exemption from RCRA regulation for waste materials that result from extraction and processing of coal itself, there may be circumstances under which coal mining operators could find themselves subject to regulation under RCRA or a number of other statutes administered by EPA. This paper will review briefly the history of mine waste regulation under RCRA, as well as touch on the policy decisions that led to the exemptions from RCRA regulation. The paper will summarize coal waste requirements under SHCRA, and also will review what operations at coal mines need to be controlled, in order to avoid potential liability under RCRA. In addition, it will mention requirements under other federal laws, including CERCLA, or the "Superfund" law,3 and describe how they may impose restrictions or liability on coal operations for waste or other materials commonly found at surface and underground coal mines.

The strike is about east and west and the dip approximately vertical, with a westerly pitch. The underground workings at this mine are some 4,500 feet in extent east and west, and over 1,500 feet in depth. The structure here is probably the most complex in the Lake Superior iron districts. Above the iron bearing formation, geologically, comes the basal conglomerate of the Lower Huronian, carrying large boulders and Masses of the iron bearing rocks."

Hard-rock phosphate was formerly the chief source of all phosphate in Florida. Its mining began as early as 1883 or 1884, reached a peak level in 1907 and ceased in 1966. Production began and ended in the Dunnellon area (Marion County). Nearly all the hard-rock was exported because its P205 value per unit weight is generally more concentrated than that of other phosphate rock. Maximum production, achieved in 1907, was greater than 600,000 tons; the total value for that year was more than $4,000,000. The Florida hard-rock phosphate, considered to be of middle Miocene to early Pliocene age, has an intermittent narrow, linear northwest-southeast trend. The Ocala uplift controls the phosphate distribution for more than 200 miles. Other known, isolated hard-rock areas appear to be related to minor folds on the Ocala uplift. The hard-rock phosphate deposits are a heterogeneous mass of sedimentary fluorapatite, chert and quartz with textures ranging in size from clay to boulder, and in thickness from 0 to 40 feet. Phosphate compounds, principally fertilizers, have been in oversupply since before 1968, but by the middle 1970's some experts forecast a supply-demand balance. A brighter future for exploitation of Florida hard-rock phosphate depends upon one or more of these factors: 1) depletion of present premium grades (74 percent BPL and above) of land-pebble; 2) cheaper electric power from nuclear generators for profitable electric furnace operation; 3) supply and price of sulfur; 4) manageable rail-water transportation costs; 5) development of less costly mining and separation methods; and 6) minimum competition from high-grade foreign phosphate.

The goal of this project is to develop, demonstrate, and document the beneficial use applications of a ponded F-fly ash as a road subbase material for the 2.1-mile Meredosia Industry Access Truck Route in Meredosia, Illinois. Approximately 60,000 to 70,000 cubic yards of ponded fly ash are proposed for use on this project without negative environmental impacts to surface water or groundwater. The County Highway Truck Route will consist of a 24-foot wide road built on a 0 to 7-foot thick compacted F-fly ash subbase. Laboratory testing indicates this fly ash will serve adequately as a road subbase, conforming to IDOT standard specifications. The economic considerations of using the Meredosia F-fly ash will also be developed so that a detailed cost-benefit analysis can be prepared for this project and for future projects. This project represents a two-year cooperative development and demonstration effort among the Office of Coal Development and Marketing (OCDM) of the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (IDCCA), Southern Illinois University (SIU), Morgan County Highway Department (MCHD), Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), AmerenCIPS, and the Morgan County Regional Planning Commission. It is anticipated that monitoring activities will continue for a period of three (3) years after the completion of this project. The MCHD and IDOT will oversee all construction activities and long-term performance evaluation studies. Successful demonstration of large-volume beneficial use applications of F-fly ash at this site will significantly reduce management costs for power plants burning Illinois Coal. Furthermore, it will encourage similar utilization strategies at other sites in the State of Illinois.

A study was made to determine those petrographic parameters that are correlative with carbonate-aggregate quality as indicated by the Los Angeles abrasion and absorption tests. Samples collected at 28 sites in northern and eastern Indiana were analyzed petrographically, chiefly for void content, grain size, grain-size variation, grain shape, and grain interlock. Most of the sampled sites are in the belt of Silurian rocks of east-central and north- western Indiana. Though a few sites lie outside this belt, most of these have only a thin Devonian section above the Silurian. Three sites are non-Silurian and are included for comparison. Most of the samples studied are from Middle and Upper Silurian units. Both biohermal and nonbiohermal facies are included. The biohermal rocks are typically dense but vugular, finely crystalline granular dolomite. Nonbiohermal facies are porous, medium to coarsely crystalline, granular dolomite with dolomite rhombs The Los Angeles abrasion losses ranged from 20 to 46 per cent, the rocks in the eastern part of the state showing the higher values. Absorption tests indicate the same general quality trend. Comparison of petrographic studies with Los Angeles abrasion- and absorption-test results indicate the following correlations. (1) As per, cent of voids increases, quality decreases. (2) As average grain size increases, quality decreases. (3) Variations from mean grain size appear to have no effect on the quality. (4) As angularity and roughness of the grains increase, quality increases. (5) As grain-to-grain interlock increases, quality increases. Variations in the calcium-magnesium ratio have no apparent effect on aggregate quality, except as they affect the texture.

The Perama Hill gold project is an environmentally friendly project designed with the principle of zero discharge to the environment. The main issues of the proposed mine that are addressed in this paper are the water management, the dam and tailings management facility parameters as well as the mine closure plan, which demonstrate the sustainable design of the project. The water plant circuit will operate using 87% of recycled water and rainfalls, while the pumped aquifer is completely unsuitable for any other use. The proposed water management plan is based on different meteorological conditions for every month and optimizes the external water needs. The tailings pond area that is sited on intensely argilized rocks, will be composite-lined resulting in a permeability value of less than 10-10 m/s, and will exceed the safety parameters for maximum earthquake intensity, flood conditions and seepage. Tailings will contain less than 1 ppm cyanides (almost potable water ranges) and will be free of heavy metals (oxide ore material). The proposed rehabilitation plan comprises of decommissioning and demolition of the plant and auxiliary facilities, open pit partial back-filling and recontouring, appropriate capping of the tailings impoundment, revegetation, maintenance of area drainage system and monitoring for 5 years after rehabilitation. The plan is fullycosted, will be prepaid and through the agreed final land uses with the local community and the proposed actions of the corporate responsibility will attribute to the sustainable development of the area. The design of the Perama Hill project according to new EU and UN legislation and practices ensures that it will be the best example of gold mining operations in Greece.

In a gas/coal outburst the gas plays an active, driving part. The proneness of coal to outbursts can be determined by means of its gas emission properties, since coal that is liable to outbursts differs from coal with normal gas emission properties in that it liberates its gas from the sorptive bond more quickly. There is a risk of outburst when the flow of metha¬ne originally desorbed by the coal is sufficient to move the loosened coal which has been broken suddenly. The violence of a gas/coal outburst can be evaluated from the distance of projection of the mass of coal. It depends on the gas pressure and on the liability to outburst of the coal at the original centre of the outburst. Both factors are complementary in their effects so that the same work is done in a gas/coal outburst when there is a high gas pressure and low proneness to outburst as when there is a low gas pressure and a higher proneness to outburst. The gas pressure in the coal increases with its gas content. Consequently it is possible to deduce the gas pressure of a coal seam from its gas content. In the Federal Republic of Germany the risk of a gas/coal outburst is thought to exist when the desorbable gas content of the coal reaches or exceeds the value of 9 m3/ton and if the specific limit value of the proneness to outburst is exeeded. The Mine Ventilation Testing Station of the Westfalische Berggewerkschaftskasse has developed a new method for determining the risk of gas outbursts immediately after taking the samples at the coal face (1), (2).

Cyprus Gold NZ Ltd will be recovering residual free cyanide in barren gold pulp by air stripping. Laboratory investigations by DSIR have indicated additional advantages by recovering the cyanide from pregnant pulp. These are a lower leach pH, a greater cyanide recovery and less carbon consumption. They have a net economic advantage of $1.20/tonne over recovery from barren pulp. The realisation of these advantages is dependent on three crucial technical aspects -optimum pH for dissolution, the absolute loss of cyanide and the stability of the aurocyanide ion. The laboratory investigations described herein address these aspects. Earlier work had indicated that the rate of dissolution of freely revolving gold discs at constant cyanide ion concentration increased with decreasing pH from 11 to 8. Attempts to repeat the work in a more controlled manner by measuring the corrosion potential and current density have, to date, not been reproducible, but do not contradict the earlier observations. Cyanide recoveries and balances were obtained on leaches at pH 10.5 and 9 at the same cyanide ion concentration -the lower pH requiring three times as much total cyanide. Unaccounted-for losses, unfortunately, exceed the accounted-for losses, making interpretation of the balances difficult. Nevertheless, it appears that the additional amount of cyanide at the lower pH of 9 may not be fully recoverable. It may not, however, prove necessary in practice to use more cyanide at a lower pH. Both the gold and silver cyanide complexes remain available for carbon adsorption, as do mercury, copper and iron. Zinc, and probably cadmium, nickel and lead, may precipitate during stripping, which is an environmental advantage.

Core Laboratories, a division of Western Atlas International, maintains laboratories in all energy-producing areas of the United States, as well as in many foreign countries. Central to laboratory operations has been the incorporation of computers and computer software. Core has developed a mu1tiuser Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) , which is currently installed in numerous company sites in the U.S., and is now undergoing installation in Canada. In addition, Core has provided custom soft ware to contract laboratories which Core operates on behalf of mining firms. The software development was done under the direction of the author in Denver, Colorado, and Casper, Wyoming. The intent of this paper is to pass some of the practical experience gained by our efforts on to those who wish to utilize computers more fully in the laboratory setting. The product of analytical laboratories is numbers. Nothing else comes from our work. We deal in information about samples. It is then reasonable to assume that the computer would be central to a laboratory operation. The hard part is to initially define what kind of computer the lab operation needs. The choices today can be very complex, and almost every hardware salesman is full of bad advice. Even the people in your own information services department may hold divided opinions. Since the advent of the personal computer, we have lived with a polarized data processing community. The PC boys consider their machines equal to any challenge, while the "save the mainframe" crowd view the PCs as limited toys that are only good for the things that clutter up a real computer. Management tends to lean toward whatever costs the least.

Nast Tunnel is the first granitic rock tunnel to be excavated by a machine for the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation. The machine has excavated 7500 ft of the tunnel at this writing. There have been a few good performances; 31 ft in 1, 8 hr shift, and 75 ft in a 24 hr period, but generally, progress has been slower than that accomplished in the area with reasonable comparable conditions using conventional excavation techniques. Button cutters, now employed using compression as the means of fracturing the rock, gives an average cutting rate of 3 ft per hr. Disc cutters manufactured by the machine builders were tried briefly but the snap rings holding the discs to the hub failed. However, disc cutting rates of 6 ft per hr were recorded for short periods of time in a competent coarse grained porphyritic granite. The snuck was also considerably larger and more easily handled than that produced by the button cutters. Hughes Tool Co. is working on a disc type cutter and expects to have them on the cutterhead by mid June. LOCATION, DESCRIPTION AND BID OPENING Nast Tunnel is located 2 miles west of the Continental Divide and 39 miles east of the town of Basalt in Pitkin County, Colorado. The outlet portal is in the Fryingpan River Valley at an elevation of 10,000 ft. The tunnel is a 3 mile long, 10 ft diameter gravity flow water conveyance structure and a part of the west slope water collection for the Bureau of Reclamation, Fryingpan-Arkansas Project. The dynamic behavior of batch mill, CSTR mill, and a closed grinding network consisting of a mill, sump, and cyclone was analyzed using the dynamic population balance model (PBM). The dynamic solution of the PBM of a batch, CSTR and a closed grinding network consisting of a mill, sump, and cyclone forms the basis of the dynamic analysis presented here. Two numerical dynamic solution approaches were used. These are: 1) providing additional constraints on breakage selection functions or 2) performing the Arbiter-Bhrany (or other) normalization of the selection functions. Actual experimental anthracite batch grinding data was used to obtain the functionality of the batch dynamic mill selection and breakage functions for a real physical system. The Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm for systems of constrained non-linear equations is used to solve the batch dynamic PBM grinding equations to obtain the grinding selection and breakage rate functions. The mill, sump and hydrocyclone were modeled as a CSTR operating at various retention times. Batch dynamic PBM data was used to provide the mill kinetic and breakage selection function data. Different dynamic solutions were obtained depending on the numerical approach used. Each solution approach to a dynamic PBM with transport, while giving the same prediction for a single batch grinding time, gives different solutions or predictions for mill composition for other grinding times. This fact makes dynamic nodal analysis and control problematic. The fact that the constraint solution approach gives a solution may suggest that normalization for closed networks is not necessary. Differences in solutions to the PBM cannot be excused away by inaccuracies in the data used to model the grinding phenomenon.

The study area is located between Orhangazi and Sapanca geographically known as Armutlu Peninsula (Figure 1). It is steep broken and mountainous with an area of 4000 km2. [ ] Economic marbles are investigated in regionally such as Orhangazi, Elmali, Menek?eyayla, Sapanca, Pamukova and they are seperated approximately 800 km2 (Figure 2). These marbles are massive, thick and dispersed as small sized outcrops in Armutlu Peninsula.

Smallbore tunnels in urban environments often present more technical and managerial problems than major large diameter schemes carried out for transportion, water supply and hydro-electric facilities. The 1.8 km Bath scheme was designed for construction in tunnel using the pipe jacking system. Unforeseen ground conditions meant other techniques were needed during construction. The paper describes the problems encountered and how they were overcome.

The Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) academy in Beckley, WV, received enquiries from various segments of the mining industry concerning alcohol and substance abuse in the mining industry. The MSHA Director formed a committee, the Mining Industry Committee on Substance Abuse (MICSA), to deal with these enquiries. The committee met in April 1985 at the mining academy in Beckley. The MICSA committee expanded its membership to represent labor, management, and government agencies affiliated with the mining industry as well as government agencies dealing with alcohol and drug abuse. This expanded 18-member committee met for the first time in July 1985. At that time, two cochairmen were elected, one from labor and one from management. MICSA has spent time on education by sharing information on the issues and by calling in outside experts for advice and consultation. The committee also initiated several projects. These include a resource manual on substance abuse and employee assistance programs. Mine operators and labor unions can use these programs as guides. MICSA is also assembling statistics on substance abuse, particularly as applied to mining. And the committee commissioned an Education film, Substance Abuse, Is It Our Problem? (The results of a survey on drug use, given in Table 1, suggest that substance abuse may indeed be a problem.) The educational film, produced by MSHA, is an introduction to the problem of substance abuse in the mining environment. The film encourages mine operators, labor unions, and miners to analyze their individual circumstances to determine whether a problem exists. The film also offers ways to deal with the problem. And the film invites the mining industry to request additional information from MICSA. There is no single approach to substance abuse that will fit the need of every mining operation. As with any health, safety, or production problem, remedies must be site specific. MICSA's aim is to channel ideas to those who seek to help employees in a mining environment who seek to rid themselves of alcohol and substance abuse. As stated more formally: The Mining Industry Committee on Substance Abuse represents the efforts of labor, management, and government. The mission of the committee is to make the mining industry aware of the problems resulting from alcohol and other drug abuse and to recommend possible methods to remedy the problem. The function of the committee is to assist the industry in developing programs and resources to recognize and provide help for troubled employees, and thus reduce the risk of accidents, while lower absenteeism and increasing productivity.

"INTRODUCTION Vanadium deposits in Arizona are distributed all across the state, from the rim of the Grand Canyon to the Tombstone mining district in the southeast corner of the state (Figure 1). The combined past production of vanadium from Arizona and New Mexico ranks second nationwide, after deposits in the Colorado Plateau In the northeast corner of the state, in the Carrizo Mountains and Monument Valley of Apache and Navajo Counties, vanadium was produced as a by-product of uranium in deposits of the Salt Wash and Shinarump members of the Morrison and Chinle formations, respectively. The production took place between 1943 and 1970. Another source of vanadium in Arizona occurs in vanadate deposits associated with supergene enrichment of base-metal vein and replacement deposits. The most important vanadate mineral is vanadinite, a chloro-vanadate of lead. Presently, there are no primary mines of vanadium in the United States. In 2012, a small production of vanadium pentaoxide (V2O5) was reported as a by-product of uranium at the White Mesa uranium mine in Utah1. This paper describes vanadate deposits in Arizona with emphasis in three districts, namely, the Mammoth, Globe-Miami and Banner districts.VANADIUM EPIGENETIC DEPOSITS: VANADATES Almost all vanadium epigenetic deposits occur as vanadates in oxidized zones of lead, zinc and copper veins and replacement deposits. Vanadinite, descloizite and mottramite are the most common minerals in vanadate deposits. Descloizite is a vanadate of lead, zinc and copper. Wulfenite, a molybdate of lead is also present. These minerals replace supergene base-metal minerals, form crusts on faces of open cavities, or are inter-grown with residual clays in pockets. The vanadium content in vanadate deposits is believed to have been leached from the country rock by ground-water and transported through porous rocks until precipitating as a relatively insoluble vanadium compound or until the solution evaporated. Precipitation was brought about by local concentrations of cations of divalent lead, zinc or copper. Lead is a constituent part of almost all of vanadate deposits and the vanadium pentaoxide (V2O5) content in vanadate minerals seems to have a direct correlation with the content of lead in the hypogene mineral. Vanadate deposits are restricted almost entirely to the oxidized parts of vein or replacement deposits. It is rare that oxidized zones extend past 100 ft from the surface. Vanadate deposits are largely restricted to tropical and temperate zones and regions of dry climate. Arizona and New Mexico have the largest concentration of vanadate deposits in North America."

Since the inception of the Ashton (formerly Kalumburu) Joint Venture in 1972 the parties have expended $24 million in exploration for diamonds in the Kimberley region. This has resulted in the discovery of the currently subeconomic Ellendale deposits in 1976/77 and the economic Argyle - Smoke Creek Deposits in 1979/80. In addition to Argyle and Ellendale, some 90 kimberlitic and lamproitic bodies have been discovered grouped broadly into three provinces, on the west, east and north margins of the Kimberley block. These bodies range in size from dyke-like features less than 1. m (3 ft) in width to pipes with a surface area of 128 ha (316 acres). The bodies with larger surface area are volcanic crater deposits, infilled with air-fall and water deposited tuffs and epiclastic sediments. Diamond content ranges from trace to economic concentrations. The exploration discoveries were facilitated by early recognition that the petrography, mineralogy and chemistry of the diatremes varied from the classical kimberlites of Kimberley, South Africa, to unusual more highly fractionated, alkaline, silicic varieties having affinities with leucitelamproite. Indirect methods of exploration were used, primary reconnaissance work being stream gravel sampling for kimberlitic indicator minerals. Evaluation showed Ellendale diamonds are 90% gem and near gem, but the low grades and tonnage render the deposits unpayable at today's diamond prices. After discovery in late 1979 and completion of a feasibility study by the end of 1982, evaluation studies proved Argyle to be economic. Alluvial diamond mining commenced in 1983 producing 6.2 million carats (Mct) that year, 60% being of industrial quality. Open-pit mining of the AK1 lamproite should start in 1985/1986 at a rate of 3 million t/a (33 million stpy) and produce 25 Mct/a, making this mine, and Australia, the world's largest producer of diamonds by weight. The revenue from diamond deposits is a function of the grade and the value of the diamonds. The grade is the product of the frequency of occurrence of the diamonds (stone density) and the mean stone size; the value of the stones is strongly related to their size distribution. During evaluation of the West Australian deposits, the diamond distribution was found to vary markedly in stone density and stone size. These variations corresponded with changes in the rock type hosting the mineralization. As a consequence, geological mapping of individual lamproites within the multiple vents and careful monitoring of the diamond distribution became an important part of the evaluation work. Similar variations in stone size and frequency were found to accord with separate alluvial terraces and fan gravels derived by erosion from the Argyle AM lamproite.

"Gold rush" is usually associated the western United States - California, Nevada, and Colorado. The southeast section of the nation is known more for its rice, textiles, tobacco, indigo, and cotton. This area, though, is where it all began with gold in this country. The United States' first gold rush, in fact, is said to have started with the discovery of a 7.7-kg (17-1b) nugget in the Piedmont section of the Carolinas in 1799, some 50 years before the rush to California. The Carolina gold rush continued intermittently through 1942 when the Federal Government shut down all gold operations. Strong gold prices throughout the early part of this decade and new extractive technologies spurred a small resurgence of gold operations in South Carolina. Mind you, this is not Nevada with its flood of geologists and mining companies. Nor are there any 7.7 kg (17 lb) nuggets being discovered. But Ridgeway Mining Co., a joint venture between Kennecott Corp. and Galactic Resources, has set about mining 51 Mt (56 million st) of low-grade ore containing an estimated 43.5 t (1.4 million oz) of recoverable gold. The open pit, carbon-in-leach operation is located near the town of Ridgeway in South Carolina, about 32 km (20 miles) north of Columbia. Carolina gold North and east of Ridgeway, Piedmont Mining Co. operates the historic Haile gold mine near Kershaw, SC. And Brewer Mining Co. operates the nearby Brewer deposit. Between 1829 and 1942, South Carolina gold mines produced 10 t (318,800 oz) of gold. It all began in 1799 when Conrad Reed, son of a German immigrant farmer, found the 7.7 kg (17 lb) nugget in Little Meadow Creek, NC. Gold was later discovered in the Greenville district of South Carolina. And, in 1828, Benjamin Haile discovered gold in a stream that ran through his property in Lancaster County, SC. Haile's mine became South Carolina's most famous and most productive gold mine, producing more than 7.8 t (250,000 oz). At first, miners worked the stream beds of Haile's property. A risk analysis on mine fires for all U.S. underground coal mines from 2000–2012 was completed to identify locations that have a high risk for fire incidents. The data for this analysis was extracted from the Mine Safety and Health Administration’s (MSHA) mine fire accident reports database. After identifying fire incidents from this database, a risk matrix was developed for underground locations that showed a significant propensity for fire incidents. This matrix associates the hazards and risks with the severity and frequency of their consequences at each location. These significant mine areas will be the concentration of future studies in fire behavior, suppression techniques, and simulation methodologies. INTRODUCTION Fires in underground mines pose significant hazards to personnel because of inherent restrictions to movement and limitations to egress routes. Despite improvements, mine fires remain serious hazards in underground coal mine. In order to better mitigate the risks from fire hazards in the modern underground mining environment, a better understanding of where fire events occur must be gained. The following paper presents an investigation on the number of fatal and non-fatal incidents in underground coal mines fires from 2000 to 2012. Three phases of risk assessment (i.e., risk identification, estimation, and evaluation) were applied to the recorded fire events from the MSHA incident database that occurred during this time period. Using this process, a fire hazard was first defined. This definition was then used to identify any incidents that had occurred as a result of the defined hazards. The seriousness of the injuries and damages were finally quantified for each incident though an estimate of severity and frequency and then aggregated according to underground location (ISO, 1999; Van Duijne, 2008). Using this approach, locations prone to incidents resulting from fire hazards were first identified. The risk for the occurrence a fire incident in general was then estimated for each of the identified locations. The results of this assessment will be used to improve fire simulation techniques for the identified, high risk underground locations. RISK IDENTIFICATION A risk for this assessment was defined as any single occurrence of a fire initiated by the ignition of gas, dust, or electricity. Each recorded occurrence of such an event in the MSHA incident database was counted as a single fire incident. Both non-fatal incidents that were reportable but did not result in a fatality and fatal incidents that fell into the aforementioned criteria were counted. Incidents in the MSHA database that were already classified as “generic” were not considered. The remaining incidents were then totaled and aggregated according to the underground location in which they occurred. In previous studies, a number of locations, which are listed in Table 1, were highlighted as high fire hazard areas (McDonald et al, 1980; Pomroy et al, 1995; De Rosa, 2004). These locations were used to group the fire incidents extracted from the MSHA incident database. The compiled numbers of non-fatal and fatal underground coal fire incidents from 2000 to 2012 are displayed in Table 1.
