Mode of occurrence and compositional variations of iron-manganese deposits from seamounts around the NW Pacific submarine island-arc area are described on the basis of on-site description during the Moana Wave Cruise MW9507 and other Japanese cruises, as well as geochemical and mineralogical analyses and dating on collected samples. Hydrogenetic and hydrothermal iron-manganese crusts occur at more than 80 sites out of 150 dredge hauls within a small area of 200x 200 km in the back arc region. The hydrogenetic crusts may have grown continuously at slow rates, but 2-3 times faster than those from the Central Pacific, associated with depletion of Co, Cu, and Ni contents. The site-maximum thickness of the hydrogenetic deposits trends to increase with the increase of distance from the active volcanic chain or the age of substrate volcanic rocks. Also the observed great local variations in thickness within single sites and on small scales may be resulted from post-depositional geological activity at the seamounts such as calcareous sedimentation, collapse of volcanic body and mass wasting,. On the other hand, the rapid hydrothermal manganese mineralization has occurred in place and time during arc volcanism and rifting and is still in progress at modern active areas. The ninety ICP/ES chemical plus XRD analysis show that these deposits are of distinct composition by origin or topographic provinces, but small-scale variation of the deposits of each origin and micro-scale depth variation are not clear.

Alaska's expansive continental shelf represents future opportunities for marine mineral development. Although today's metal prices and subsidized foreign mineral production continue to discourage industry investment in marine exploration worldwide, the longer term outlook is one of increasing costs on-shore with a dwindling land-base available on which to search for and extract minerals. Likely, the generations of the 21st century will increasingly recover their minerals from the sea-floor. Though largely unexplored, Alaska potentially represents a major port ion of the U.S. marine resources. Several factors demonstrate this. First, the Alaskan OCS is huge; 74% of the entire United States' continental shelf lies off of Alaska, and 54% of the U.S. coastline is Alaskan. Combined with the jurisdiction waters of the Soviet Far East, the Bering-Chukchi shelf is one of the world's largest tracts of shallow water. Second, Alaska is situated at the northwestern terminus of the mineral-rich American cordillera. From Chile to Alaska, major on-shore deposits of precious and base metals, ferroalloys, and industrial minerals are found in the tectonically disturbed belts of the cordillera. In 1988, the western U.S. cordilleran states produced 70% of this country's mineral output (excluding construction materials). Throughout the cordillera's entire 10,000 mile length, the rock units strike largely parallel to the coastline, but in Alaska they extend directly offshore and onto the continental shelf. "This paper explores the option of direct reduction smelting of the nodules from the German license area in the equatorial NE Pacific in a submerged arc furnace (SAF). An optimized slag design is proposed to separate the larger Mn-bearing stream from the valuable metals (i.e. Ni, Cu, Co, Mo). The slag optimization allows a maximum of Mn to be retained in the manganese-silicate slag on the one hand and a maximized metal recovery in a FeNiCuCo alloy on the other. This way, the goal is to make use of the complete nodules (“zero-waste”) instead of extracting only the metals Ni, Cu, and Co, which make up about 3 wt%. The process closely relates to the “Inco Process” by the Ocean Management Inc. (OMI) of the late 1970s, which was a consortium of INCO (International Nickel Company, CAN; today Vale Canada), Preussag AG & Metallgesellschaft AG (GER), DOMCO (JPN), and Sedco (USA). However, the manganese containing slag is investigated in more detail to recover FeMn, FeMnSi and/or SiMn. To optimize the process modern tools such as thermo-chemical modeling in FactSage™ have been used. [1,2]Polymetallic deep-sea manganese nodules may offer a decreased dependency of raw material imports for Germany and the EU. Currently, four European countries (United Kingdom, Belgium, Germany, and France and an Eastern European consortium (InterOcean Metal)) hold exploration licences for these nodules in international waters in the equatorial NE-Pacific. The license areas each cover 75 000 km2 of the seafloor and are located in the Clarion Clipperton Fracture Zone (CCZ) south east off Hawaii at water-depths between 4000 and 6000 m. The nodules may be used as a resource for industrially important metals such as Cu, Ni, Mn as well as for technology metals like Co, Mo, V and Zn. Analysis of the relationship between environmental parameters and the content of Mn, Ni, Co, Cu, Fe and Zn in ferromanganese crusts permits improved identification of locations to prospect for crusts with commercially valuable concentrations of these metals. In this study we asked whether a statistically significant relationship exists between primary productivity of the overlying surface waters, the concentration of O2 in and depth of the O2 minimum layer on the metal content of non-hydrothermal ferromanganese crusts in the Pacific Ocean between 130o W and 175o E and 0o to 30o S (the study area). To further develop the interpretation of the results of the statistical analysis and to assess in detail the geographical expression of these parameters in terms of metal content in crusts, a geostatistical technique (kriging) was used to generate contoured values for metal content, primary productivity and O2 concentration in and depth of the O2 minimum layer in the study area.

"INTRODUCTIONWhile today’s mine planning of land-based ore deposits follows methods, which are well established, mining standards for the deep-sea have not established. Having gained a basic understanding of geological settings, there is still a lack of tools and methods to assess and plan future mining projects in the deep-sea. In the framework of the “Blue Mining” research project (2014-2018) technologies and methods for the exploration and exploitation of deep-sea minerals are developed that will bring deep-sea mining a step closer. The “Blue Mining” project receives funding from the European Commission (EC; Framework Programme 7; GA No. 604500) and addresses all aspects of the value chain in the field of deep-sea mining. The project philosophy is that deep-sea mining is planned and executed in the most responsible manner: Ensuring societal benefits and profitability at acceptable resource utilization and lowest possible environmental footprint (Volkmann 2014).Inspired by the high-tech farming industry, a concept to mine seafloor manganese nodules (SMnN) was developed. Mining is considered to be similar to the potato harvest on land (Figure 1), which involves mining a field partitioned into long, narrow strips (Volkmann and Lehnen 2017). The proposed mining system composes of one mining support vessel (MSV), one or two self-propelled, crawler-type seafloor mining tools SMT(s) and different types of underwater vehicles. The MSV follows the mining route of the SMT(s), picking up the about potato-sized nodules from the seafloor. The ore is pre-processed in situ and is lifted on board of the MSV, where the ore is dewatered and loaded onto bulk carriers for transport to the purchaser. Processing and refining of ore is not subject of “Blue Mining” research."

With its new continental shelf beyond the exclusive economic zone, New Zealand is a country with just 4% of its territory above water. The other 96% is submerged. New Zealand's marine territory covers an area about three-quarters the size of Australia. This territory includes large portions of the Gondwana continent from which NZ separated more than 80 million years ago. This underwater land mass extends from the shores of New Zealand to a water depth of more than 5,000 m, is largely unexplored and is almost certainly the site of many large, untapped oil, gas and mineral deposits. Underwater oil and gas drilling is now a universal activity. Underwater mining is in its infancy and will become a major activity in the future, contributing greatly to the New Zealand economy. New hydrocarbon deposits will undoubtedly be discovered under the ocean floor in regions such as the Great South Basin located off Canterbury and Otago. Mineral deposits are also undoubtedly located within the oceanic crust of this underwater NZ continent. These are as yet unknown and unexplored. The oceanic crust north of the North Island is currently being extended through the subduction of the Pacific plate into the Tonga Kermadec trench and through the growth of a line of submarine volcanoes extending north to Tonga. Active submarine volcanism has led to the growth of ocean floor mineral deposits consisting of polymetallic sulphides with iron, copper, zinc and lesser gold, silver and other metals.

The Marine Minerals Technology Center (MMTC) was established by Congress in FY 1988 as part of the Mineral Institutes Program, administered by the U.S. Bureau of Mines under the auspices of the Department of the Interior. The primary objective of the MMTC is to encourage the development of selected mineral materials from U.S. seabeds by providing opportunities for appropriate engineering systems research, development, and technology transfer within academic, government, and industrial communities. The center will also provide the leadership and facilities required for the education and training of the nation's scientists and engineers in the field of ocean mineral development. Because of the broad spectrum of study encompassed by the field of ocean mining and mineral resources, the MMTC is organized to include separate divisions for nearshore and deep ocean research. The Continental Shelf Division is administered by The Mississippi Mineral Resources Institute (MMRI) of the School of Engineering at The university of Mississippi. A number of Articles contained in the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea III (UNCLOS) bear directly on legal issues related to the recovery of mineral deposits on the ocean floor. Mineral resources of the continental margin other than oil, gas and hydrates include, sand, gravel, shell, coral, gemstones and phosphorite. Jurisdiction over the exploration and exploitation of these deposits is determined either by the Territorial Sea claims of a coastal state or their recognized sovereign rights in the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). At least 33 coastal states have the right under Article 76 (Continental Shelf regime) to claim seabed jurisdiction beyond 200 nautical miles (EEZ limit). In addition, several states have "Pioneer Investor" status with regard to seabed resources in international waters (The Area). A global maritime boundary database (GMBD) has been developed as a basic resource identifying the current claims of coastal states. It provides detailed information on existing boundaries and limits determined by the UNCLOS accords or by multi-lateral agreements which affect mineral exploration and exploitation. This paper will describe the GMBD and its construction and maintenance.

In June of 2013, Odyssey Marine Exploration conducted sea trials of the newly installed SeaBat 7150 full-ocean multibeam sonar system on the M/V Dorado Discovery over the Fierberling Guyot in the northeast Pacific Ocean. Fieberling Guyot is located approximately 990 kilometers west of San Diego, California and it rises abruptly from the deep ocean floor (~4300 meters) to a minimum depth of approximately 438 meters. The SeaBat 7150 operates at two distinct frequencies, 24 kHz (shallow to 3000 meters) and 12 kHz (full-ocean depth greater than 2000 meters). Onboard operational data are managed by a suite of state-of-the-art software. A SQL Server 2012 database provides the highly specific management and visualization tools as ArcGIS 10, Micromine 2013, and Geobank 2013 database. The 7150 is mounted on a gondola one meter lower than on previous system and greatly reduces bubble interference. The 7150 generates 880 beams

Large scale, profitable, offshore mining of cassiterite started in 1907 around the coast of south Thailand and continues today in Indonesia. The more complex marine mining of diamonds commenced in the early 1960?s and is now an established industry off the coast of Namibia in southern Africa. The activities have involved many diverse organisations, and have required the development of new marine mining equipment. De Beers Marine, more recently as contractor to Namdeb, has been the dominant producer since 1989. Smaller, public, mining companies, registered in South Africa, Canada and the U.K., have achieved mixed performance results, but the total annual revenue from offshore diamonds now exceeds about US$ 180 M. With the benefit of hindsight, there are some useful lessons to be learned from the experiences. Mining of placer deposits at sea is more difficult and more costly than on land. It justifiably commences in response to a market demand for a product that cannot be supplied in sufficient quantity from onshore sources, not because the marine resource exists. The high costs can be offset in places by submarine grades so high that they have not been seen on land for a century. Technical and commercial success requires a combination, and a sufficiency, of ore reserves, capital, experienced people, and technology. Economic viability is not achieved easily and some diamond mining companies have experienced a very short productive life, terminating in their acquisition or liquidation. The reasons for failure in marine mining, regardless of whether the product is diamonds, gold, or tin, invariably are similar and fall into two categories. Those outside a company?s control include the sea conditions, taxation and fiscal climate, security of lease tenure, and the diamond market. The others, assignable to the company, provide important instructions for those who may aspire to advance the cause of marine mining.

"Ferromanganese (Fe-Mn) nodules and crusts are prime targets for future deep-sea mining ventures due to their unusual enrichment of critical metals, such as Ni, Co, Cu, Ti, Te, Zr, Hf, Nb, Y, and REE. These metals are used in an ever increasing variety of high- and green-tech applications such as alloys, batteries for hybrid cars, fiber-optic cables, or liquid-crystal displays.1 Recovery and processing of these deposits will most likely be cost-intensive and require new solutions.2 Thus, innovative approaches towards the development of sustainable metallurgical processes represent one component that can positively affect the marine mining value chain. Dynamic mineral recrystallization of Fe- Mn oxide phases is a geochemical process that may have notable potential for future hydrometallurgical applications.Our research focuses on Mn oxides – potent trace metal scavengers with high sorptive capacity3 – and biogeochemical mechanisms that control Fe-Mn nodule and crust formation, alteration, and trace element enrichment. Biogeochemical redox cycling of Mn is characterized by microbial oxidation of aqueous Mn(II) to Mn(III,IV) oxides and (a)biotic reduction of these oxides to Mn(II)aq. During this cycling dissolved Mn(II) is in direct contact with solid-phase Mn(III,IV) oxides and can back-react via abiotic pathways (e.g., 4 and references therein). This results in continuous dynamic recrystallization of the Mn mineral substrate through coupled dissolution (trace metal release) – reprecipitation (trace metal incorporation) processes.4 We recently demonstrated in new experiments, that Ni is cycled during manganite recrystallization. It has been shown that, although Ni readily undergoes mineral-fluid repartitioning in the absence of Mn(II)aq, dissolved Mn(II) significantly catalyzes Ni exchange between solid phase and solution. Over a period of 50 days about 30 percent of the Ni atoms in Ni-substituted manganite (natural abundance composition) were exchanged with a 62Ni(II)aq isotope tracer at pH 7.5. Based on these outcomes we employed similar techniques to investigate the impact of dynamic recrystallization on Mn oxide phases in deep-sea ferromanganese nodules and crusts from three circum-Australian locations (South Tasman Rise, Lord Howe Rise, Coral Sea) and the Central Pacific Basin."

Brothers volcano (34°51.7?S, 179°03.6?E) is a large caldera volcano that forms part of the active Kermadec arc south of 32° S, NE of New Zealand. It is an elongate edifice striking NW-SE that is ~11-13 km long by 7-8 km across. The caldera has a basal diameter of 3-3.5 km and is surrounded by 350-450 m high walls with the floor 1,850 m deep. A volcanic cone of dacite composition rises 350 m from the caldera floor and partially coalesces with the southern caldera wall. Much of the caldera construction and the location of the hydrothermal vent sites are controlled by intersecting basement structures. Three hydrothermal sites have been recognized at Brothers; NW caldera, SE caldera and cone. Multiple hydrothermal plumes were mapped from the bottom of the caldera upwards to a depth of 900 m and originate from two of the sites; one on the NW caldera wall the other atop the cone. Analyses of these plumes show that the two vent sites are chemically distinct. The cone site itself hosts three distinct vent fields (summit, upper flank, NE flank) that in 1999 had plumes (mainly from the summit) containing relatively high concentrations of gas with a shift of -0.27 pH units (proxy for CO2) and H2S concentrations up to 4,250 nM, particulate Cu (PCu) of 3.4 nM, total dissolvable Fe (TDFe) of 4,720 nM, TDMn up to 260 nM and Fe/Mn values between 4.4 and 18.2. However, in 2002 plumes from the summit vent field had noticeably lower concentrations of PCu (0.3 nM), TDFe (175 nM), and Fe/Mn values of 0.8, although similar TDMn (220 nM) and shift in pH (-0.22) suggesting a state of flux for this site. By contrast, plumes originating from the NW caldera site have much less gas with a pH shift of -0.09 units and no detectable H2S, TDFe up to 955 nM, TDMn up to 150 nM, and Fe/Mn values of 6.4, and have not changed their composition over the same three year interval indicating a more chronic hydrothermal system. Plume d3He results show helium is decoupled from more near-surface vent fluid sources although a shift in R/Ra values from 6.1 ± 0.5 in 1999 for the combined vent sites to 7.2 ± 0.1 in 2002 indicates a less radiogenic input of helium over three years, suggestive of a greater magmatic input to the system.

Studies of benthic recolonization following the cessation of dredging in U.K. waters and elsewhere are limited, and are largely confined to experimental circumstances. Investigations of the physical and biological status of licensed areas in the U.K. at various times following cessation of commercial dredging are very limited and so judgments as to the likely progress towards environmental restoration and the time-scales are often based on predictions rather than real data. This study was established to address this deficiency by assessing the status of seabed substrata and associated benthic fauna within and outside areas where dredging had ceased and to conduct follow up sampling to monitor progress towards full recolonization.

Nautilus Minerals is exploring for high-grade gold, silver, copper, and zinc-rich submarine massive sulphide deposits (SMS) within the territorial waters of the sovereign state of Papua New Guinea. Work to date has shown that these systems contain spectacularly high metal grades. To date a total of 88 surface sulphide grab samples have been collected from Nautilus’ Solwara 1 Prospect within EL 1196 in the Manus Basin, returning average grades of 15.5 g/t gold, 191g/t silver, 10.8% copper, and 4.7% Zn. Drilling in January/February 2006 confirmed the presence of this high grade system, with sulphide intersections up to 19m below the sea floor, with a best intersection of 11.6m at 9.1 g/t Au and 13.1% Cu.

The Manus Spreading Ridge is located within the EEZ of Papua New Guinea and lies in the Manus Basin ENE of the PNG Island and N of the Island New Britain. The divergent backarc spreading system is caused by the subduction of the Solomon plate in the South under the Bismarck plate in the North along the lineament of the New Britain trench. The rate of divergence is relatively high compared to other back arc spreading systems and amounts up to 12 cm/year [3]. Since submarine volcanism and associated hydrothermal circulation as important parts of the oceanic heat transfer system are also dependent on the rate of spreading, hydrothermal fluid venting and respective deposition of polymetallic sulfides can be expected there. In late 1985 first indications for hydrothermal activity were observed on a swell within the central rift valley of the Manus Spreading Centre during a photographic survey of the seafloor by an expedition of the Hawaii Institute of Geophysics with the American RV Moana Wave [1]. Detailed geological investigations including successful sampling were first carried out in June 1990 within the scope of the OLGA II research project (conducted by Prof. Tufar, Marburg) using the German RV Sonne equipped with a deep-sea television sledge and Tvcontrolled grab systems. Simultaneously a research cruise with the Russian RV Akademic Mstivlav Keldysh took place using the manned submersible Mir; the findings of the OLGA II cruise were immediately used for planning and organization of the Mir dives [3]. The massive sulphide samples which we used for our geochemical and mineralogical studies originate from the hydrothermal fields 1 and 2 and are from grab stations of the OLGA II expedition [4].

"These 40 years, deep-sea mining for manganese nodules, cobalt-rich manganese crusts, and seafloor massive sulfides has been continuously business and R&D targets. The economy is the most important factor for realizing the venture. Some technological options to increase the economy of deep-sea mining are introduced. They are a mechanical lift, waste rejections on seafloor, a substrate recovery as byproduct, and a pulp lift. An example application of one of the options is economically examined. Not only the same type examinations but also some technological clarifications of the options in detail are necessary.BACKGROUNDManganese nodules (nodule), seafloor massive sulfides (SMS), and cobalt-rich manganese crusts (crust) have been well recognized as future metal sources these 40 years. Among them, the nodule was the first recognized ones. The mining technologies for the deep-sea mineral resources, therefore, have been mainly developed in the major R&D projects for the nodule.The mining systems considered were shuttle miner, continuous line bucket (CLB), and hydraulic dredge ones. The shuttle miner system studied by France was a kind of basic study for autonomous underwater vehicle. The CLB system was an effective approach for a small scale and less investment cost mining (Masuda and Cruickshank, 1995). However, both were considered not effective for a bulk scale production rate mining such as 1.5 million tons per year in dry weight. In the hydraulic dredge system, a steel-pipe and flexible-hose conduit for nodule transportation named “pipestring” and a hydraulic pumpup instrument for creation of upward water flow in the pipestring named “pump-lift” or “air-lift” were adapted and developed. Hence, the hydraulic dredge system became the main stream in the mining system."

The 1991 PACMANUS Expedition (Papua New Guinea-Australia-Canada in the Manus Basin) discovered a very large (approximately 800 x 350 m) actively-forming seafloor polymetallic sulfide 4 deposit in felsic volcanic rocks of the southeastern part of Manus Basin, a 60 km wide extensional zone of basalt, andesite and dacite volcanism in the New Britain back arc. The apparent neo-volcanic zone is a 30-km long, high standing, Y-shaped edifice, which we have named Pual Ridge ("Pual" means "fork" in a local PNG dialect). The PACMANUS deposit was found by deep-tow video on Pual Ridge along the flank and adjacent valley of a dacite lava dome. Videos show large spires, chimneys and mounds with abundant fauna. Only two small samples from an active chimney were recovered. Their mineralogy is a high temperature assemblage of chalcopyrite, bornite, tennantite, sphalerite or wurtzite and anhydrite. The bornite and tennantite and silver rich. Gold values for the two samples are 2 and 10 ppm. A pronounced methane and particulate plume was traced in the water column for 14 km to the northeast of the PACMANUS deposit. Other deposits of unknown size are nearby. The deposits of Pual Ridge and their surrounding volcanic rocks have close similarities to ancient massive sulfides of Archean to Phanerozoic age in Canada and Australia.

"Due to rising prices and increasing demand of raw materials over the last years, marine mineral resources including manganese nodules have become a focus of study for industry and science. Marine ferromanganese nodules consist of micro-layers of different chemical and mineralogical composition which incorporate metals of high economic interest (Ni, Cu, Co, Zn, Mo, Li, rare earth elements; Hein & Koschinsky, 2015).The varying composition of the layers depends on different growth processes, such as hydrogenetic (metal precipitation from the water column under oxic conditions; Mn/Fe = 3), diagenetic (metal precipitation from the sediment pore water) under oxic (Mn/Fe 3-10) or suboxic (Mn/Fe = 10) conditions; (Wegorzewski & Kuhn, 2014) or hydrothermal (metal precipitation from low-temperature hydrothermal fluids; Kuhn et al., 2003).METHODSIn this study, manganese nodules from three different locations of the Atlantic Ocean (Galicia Bank; Vema-Fracture-Zone and Brazilian Basin) were analyzed for their geochemical and mineralogical composition. Detailed information about the samples are given in table 1. The geochemical and mineralogical composition of bulk nodules were determined by XRF, ICP-MS/OES as well as XRD and the single micro-layers by high resolution analyses with electron microprobe and LA-ICP-MS."

INTRODUCTION Airlift pumping, utilize compressed air that is injected at the bottom of a vertical pipe submerged in the water, reduces the mixture density inside the pipe and lifts the liquid or mixture of liquid and solids. This type of pumping technology, which is simple and without moving parts submerged in water, which provides several advantages compared to the mechanical pumping. Airlift is used in various difficult pumping applications such as transport of fluids corrosive to metals, explosives, nuclear and toxic materials in chemical industries, diamond mining and coal transport. Application of airlift to deep sea mining conditions was investigated by extensive laboratory experiments [1], theoretical analysis [2], and limited proof of concept field studies [3] starting in 1970’s with the discovery of huge amounts of manganese nodules discovered on the seabed at a depth of ranging from 4000 to 6000 m . Even after extensive investigations over the last five decades, there exists no commercial application of airlift technology for lifting of minerals. The major problems with the application airlift for deep ocean mining was (a) lack of control over the expansion of the injected gas, which increases the velocity in upper part of the riser pipe (b) lower efficiency compared to mechanical pumping [3]. Different flow regimes are encountered in airlift pumping: bubble, slug, churn and annular flow. Annular flow regime is the least efficient in lifting of particles and churn flow has better efficiency [3].

"This study presents the first catalogue of marine mineral deposits and energy resources along the continental margin of Spain. Aggregates, oil and gas and metalliferous mineral areas have been defined and mapped. The catalogue, implemented in a geographic information system (GIS), is conceived as a first national database within the European network, which is being built as part of the EMODnet-Geology project. It comprises 8 types of mineral and energy resources for the Spanish margins: aggregates, hydrocarbons, evaporites, placer deposits, phosphorites, polymetallic sulfides, polymetallic nodules and cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts (Figures 1 and 2). The catalogue stores a total of 409 marine mineral deposits and compiles information such as name, deposit type, main morphology, main minerals, setting or area extent for each mineral deposit. By number of deposits compiled, the aggregates are the most abundant (286) followed by hydrocarbons (62), cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts (32), evaporites (9), placer deposits (8), phosphorites (5), polymetallic nodules (4) and polymetallic sulphide deposits (3). Considering the total extension, hydrocarbons (32,386 km2) and cobalt-rich ferromanganese crusts (24,951 km2) represent the biggest areas.The Geological Survey of Spain (IGME) is developing a new tool in the catalogue, according the International Seabed Authority (ISA) Database parameters, for individual samples on each ferromanganese deposit. The database includes an extensive collection of records that comprise five information groups: general cruise and sample data, physical properties, mineralogy, geochemistry and acronyms used. New attributes have been incorporated, in example: geophysical, sedimentological and petrological data in the deposit area, sample weight, porosity, morphology, textural and structural features, geochemistry of major, minor and trace elements (included REEs and PGEs) and supplementary cruise and laboratory reports. This new database complements the EMODnet-Geology project minerals catalogue, offering a deeper level of information for the areas with major potential for mineral or energy resources as they are the Canary Island Seamount Province, the West Margin of Galicia and the Gulf of Cadiz."
