"The effect of nitrogen on the flotation separation of sulphides from complex ores from Brunswick Mining and Smelting (New Brunswick) and Mattabi Mines (Ontario) was investigated. The most significant finding was enhanced pyrite floatability after as little as 3 minutes nitrogen conditioning. This was used in a novel sphalerite/pyrite separation process developed on the Brunswick ore. After aeration and Cu/Pb bulk flotation in air using xanthate the slurry was nitrogen conditioned, xanthate added and the pyrite floated in nitrogen. As an example up to 70% pyrite recovery with about 20% sphalerite recovery was achieved. Sphalerite was recovered from the pyrite tailings and the pyrite concentrate by copper-activation, raising the pH to 10 and floating in air. About 65-70% recovery at 35-40% Zn grade was achieved compared to 25% Zn grade by the conventional route. The process offers a promising alternative to current practice which seeks to depress pyrite at all stages. A possible mechanism of the effect of nitrogen is presented. INTRODUCTIONUse of gases other than air in froth flotation has been reported from time to time. [Podobnik and Shirley, 1982; Lin and Metzer, 1975]. Of all the gases, nitrogen would appear to hold the greatest practical promise because of its easy availability and chemical inertness. It is used in froth flotation in chalcopyrite-molybdenite separation [Redfearn, 1983]. "In Canada and other countries, legislation dealing with accurate factual disclosure for mining projects is being expanded to include more metallurgical design information. Grinding characteristics, metallurgical recovery of contained metal and environmental hazards associated with tailings disposal will be part of the Canadian package. This paper will examine only that portion of the plant design standard practice that relates to grinding – in SAG mills and ball mills that grind ore from as received crushed material to final ground product that is fed to downstream plant recovery processes. Since grinding plants represent a significant portion of the overall concentrator cost, accountability in grinding design should no longer be left to chance, opinion, or hidden proprietary information. This is the 21st century. It is reasonable to expect that a factual basis will be needed so that a Qualified Person (QP) reviewing the grinding mill design can understand it. That will also involve how many and what quality of samples are taken to define the characteristics of the deposit, the accuracy of the tests used to measure ore hardness and the method by which the dimensions and power of the mills are determined. If these criteria are not met, the QP may have no choice but to call attention to the lack of convincing information regarding the grinding mill design for the project. At the same time clients are expected to demand getting the correct design information at a cheaper price, results in a more timely way, and accurate design to the point where the risk of tonnage shortfalls are reduced or eliminated.Tables will be presented to show how this can be done to current standards using existing technologies. At the same time it is acknowledged that current standards are ill-defined and that to achieve consensus among those involved in SAG mill design work, it may require that a consortium funded project be set up to establish what tests and methods for grinding design are suitable to meet the new standards for metallurgical disclosure. By running parallel design methods on several major projects over a period of 5 years, the process of how to design grinding circuits will be better understood because the projects will start at the design stage, include procurement of the mills and will end with a benchmark test on the plant.Selecting the samples and the best schedule for doing test work on core samples submitted and mill design, will be discussed in this paper. The issue of completing the grinding design in time for early procurement decisions is on the critical path for most major projects. Discussions between mining engineers, geologists and process engineers are needed early in the development cycle, at the scoping study level (SS), preliminary engineering assessment (PEA), prefeasibility study (PFS), and at the feasibility study stage (FS), to ensure that proper planning for design sample selection is done. Using adequate sampling and testing methods in a timely way allows early procurement of the grinding mills and minimizes project risk."

"NOT TOO LONG AGO, the CIM Education Committee saw the need for an information campaign to promote interest in mineral industry careers among young people. Today, times have changed and the Committee has now placed emphasis on the definition and function of the mining engineer. This situation, we believe, is entirely normal and the change of emphasis is not due to a change in the needs of the industry but more to a diversification of these needs. In years past, the Canadian mineral industry, although a very important part of our economy, was looked upon as a specialized craft and, because of the richness of our resources, did not suffer too much from competition. Now, times have changed and we are increasingly at the mercy of the competition and damaging inroads of price fluctuations, etc. We will therefore answer the questions raised in this discussion in the light of the role played in the past and the role to be played in the future by the Canadian mining engineer. We will begin with the following premises : (a) If mining engineers are to be involved in the massive problems of society, their traditional background is not sufficient. (b) Councils for professional development are working on criteria for the accreditation of advanced degree programs in the United States as well as in Canada, and, simultaneously, three-year technology programs are being developed along with professional engineering degree programs. (c) The difference between European and American industries regarding philosophy of life is that in Europe they appreciate wisdom more than HPs while in America the HP seems to be more important. The Engineering Digest of February 1972 reported that in the United States, during June and July of 1971, the second highest rate of unemployment was for the 55 to 64 age group ( 4.1 per cent). Unplanned open stope hanging wall dilution is a significant cost for many open stope mining operations. Significant advances in empirical and analytical approaches for estimating stope dilution have been made, however, many important factors are still either ignored or assessed in purely subjective terms. There are many hard to quantify factors that simultaneously influence opening stability and dilution. This creates a significant difficulty for determining the influence of a single variable, such as exposure time, on opening stability. Open stope exposure time has been found to be one of the important factors that influences overall stope stability and dilution. A study is currently being conducted to quantify many of the factors influencing open stope dilution. The assessment of a large comprehensive case history database of Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting Co. Ltd. (HBMS) operations forms the basis of this study. This paper presents the findings of a study on the influence of stope exposure time on open stope dilution. The study is based on applying existing empirical stope dilution prediction methods to the extensive HBMS database. Minimising stope mucking time has been recognised as a method to significantly reduce stope dilution. Factors which influence hanging wall dilution, such as drill and blasting methods as well as undercutting the hanging wall, have been applied to reduce the scatter in the database. Empirical design techniques based on rock classification attempt to relate opening stability to ?stand-up time?, however, these approaches have not frequently been applied to the mining industry. Data from a ?stand-up time? graph have been interpreted in terms of an equivalent average depth of hanging wall slough and compared to the HBMS database findings. To add to the existing HBMS database, several stope case histories have been taken from Geco mine. These cases include data from very large open stopes with long exposure times. Data from all three sources suggest that hanging wall slough increases between .14 and 0.3 metres per month for a rock mass Q? value between about 4 and 13.

"In 2012 diesel engine exhaust (DEE) was classified as a human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and is one of the most common workplace carcinogens internationally. We estimate that approximately 2.4% of lung cancers (n=560) and a suspected 2.7% of bladder cancers (n=200) are attributable to occupational exposure to DEE annually in Canada. High levels of exposure to DEE in mining results in a disproportionate number of cancers in this sector (approximately 220 lung and 20 suspected bladder cancers annually). These could be prevented by reducing the number of workers exposed and level of exposure. KEYWORDS Bladder cancer, Diesel engine exhaust, Economic burden, Lung cancer, Mining, Occupational cancer, Prevention, Regulation INTRODUCTION Diesel engine exhaust is a complex mixture of gases and particulates containing known and suspected carcinogens such as benzene, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and metals. Approximately 900,000 Canadians are exposed to diesel engine exhaust at work, making it the most prevalent occupational lung carcinogen in Canada (CAREX Canada). Diesel engine exhaust is recognized as one of the most common workplace carcinogens in the world, but its classification as a human carcinogen by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) was relatively recent. In 2012, after decades of mounting evidence, diesel engine exhaust was upgraded from a probable (IARC Group 2A) to a definite human carcinogen (IARC Group 1) (IARC, 2014). The IARC evaluation was based on strong evidence in humans for an increased risk of lung cancer, as well as strong evidence in animal studies. The key human evidence considered by IARC was from epidemiologic studies of workers in truck transportation, rail transportation, and mining industries, where the use of diesel engines is widespread. These studies provided strong sufficient evidence for an increased risk of lung cancer, as well as limited evidence for bladder cancer. The human studies used particulate matter, generally measured as elemental carbon (EC) or total carbon, as a surrogate for diesel engine exhaust to assess the risk associated with level of exposure. The animal studies reviewed by IARC showed sufficient evidence for cancer with exposure to whole diesel exhaust and the particulate matter fraction of diesel exhaust, but not for the gas phase components."

Sulfate-reducing passive bioreactors efficiently treat acid mine drainage (AMD) by increasing its pH and alkalinity and by removing metals as sulfide precipitates, in addition to hydroxides and carbonates. However, the new mining legislation sets discharge limits based on physicochemical parameters and on the non-toxicity of treated effluent as well. In this study, toxicity was assessed for effluent from 3.5 L column bioreactors filled with mixtures of natural organic carbon sources and operated at two different hydraulic retention times (HRTs) of 7.3 d and 10 d for the treatment of a highly contaminated AMD. Acute toxicity was observed for D. magna, and a toxicity identification evaluation (TIE) procedure was performed to identify potential toxicants. To help the interpretation of the toxicity results, metal partition in the effluent was also determined by filtration and ultrafiltration, while geochemical modeling was performed for metal speciation evaluation. The 10 d HRT effluent was nonacutely lethal for rainbow trout but acutely lethal for D. magna, whereas the 7.3 d HRT effluent was toxic for both organisms. The toxicity to D. magna was eliminated by 2 h of aeration for the 10 d HRT effluent, and the TIE procedure suggested iron as a cause of toxicity. However, the 2 h aeration eliminated the toxicity of the 7.3 d HRT effluent, only if performed after the pH rising to 9.3. Data regarding metal speciation indicated instability of both effluents during aeration and were consistent with the toxicity being caused by iron. The study indicates that design of passive treatment should include sufficient HRT and posttreatment aeration to meet acute toxicity requirements. "9.1. INTRODUCTIONIn Chapter 5 of Volume I royalties are dealt with and several topics would appear to be duplicated in this Volume. However, Volume I may be looked upon as a general guide, whereas this Volume is a reference volume. It deals in considerable detail with specific provisions and concepts relating to royalties between private parties. This does not, however, mean that Chapter 5 can be ignored. It should be looked upon as a source of general information concerning royalties between private parties and as a negotiating aid intended to give an overview of various topics. You may well find that in its general approach it will lead you to ask a question which, hopefully, will be dealt with in this Volume .It should be remembered that royalty agreements are agreements with a particular focus, and so the concepts set forth in Chapter 1 apply to them. This chapter addresses a few considerations specific to royalties that will usually form part of an agreement rather than a stand-alone agreement.9.2. FORMAT FOR ROYALTY PROVISIONSIn many of the cases where royalties arise, they are adjunct to, or part of, other arrangements. For example, a royalty may form part or all of the consideration to be given to an owner upon purchase of his property, or it may arise if a joint venturer ceases to contribute to the venture and has his interest converted to a royalty.1 It is with such situations that this section primarily deals; if the royalty is contained in an agreement that is singularly, or primarily, concerned with creating it, then it is just a normal agreement.Commonly, by the time the right to receive the royalty arises, at least some of the other provisions of the agreement have been performed and/or become redundant. "Dome Mine's No.8 shaft is located about 1 km northeast of Dome's No.3 shaft and mill complex in South Porcupine, Ontario.No.8 shaft was brought into production in 1984 to hoist ore and waste for the complete mine as well as to service the mine from the 1600 level and below. Access above 1600 level is provided by No. 3 shaft.The rectangular shaft has six compartments consisting of two skips, a cage, counterweight, manway, and a service compartment. The over-all size of the shaft is 14 ft 7 in. by 20 ft by 7 in. (Fig. 1). A 7th compartment for shaft deepening is incorporated in the bottom 500 ft of shaft. The shaft is 5470 ft deep. The loading pocket is located at 5300 ft and the dump 61 ft below the collar.Surface facilities consist of a concrete headframe and a structural steel hoistroom which houses the cage and production hoists . The service hoist is a 12-ft diameter double drum, with one 1750 HP DC motor, and the production hoist is a 15-ft diameter double drum with twin 1750 HP DC motors.Both hoists have a single clutch and a single reduction gear train built by Orenstein & Koppel, and equipped with Canadian General Electric drives. The cage hoist is equipped with a disc pinion brake.The skips were originally aluminum 14-ton capacity, Rolla-chute design with steel liners on three sides and 4 in. of rubber on the back, to absorb the loading impact. The original guide rollers consisted of fixed 10 in. pneumatic tires. The face-to-face units were eventually replaced with larger airplane-type tires mounted on a spring loaded pivot arm."

"The United Nations, through the secretariat of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and its Ad Hoc Group of Experts on Harmonization of Fossil Energy and Mineral Resources Terminology, developed the Framework Classification.The UN Classification applies to fossil energy and mineral reserves and resources located on or below the Earth's surface. It aims to simplify reporting of energy and mineral reserves and resources in a globalized world and is intended to improve global communications regarding remaining quantities of non-renewable fossil energy and mineral resources. The UN Classification is not recognized as a Foreign Code under NI 43-101.SECTION I1.,The United Nations Framework Classification (UNFC-2009) applies to fossil energy and mineral reserves and resources located on or below the Earth' s surface. It serves the needs for classification at a global level (for energy and mineral supply studies), for governments (resources management and policy formulation), for industry (business process management) and for financial reporting.SECTION II2.,The UNFC is a generic system in which quantities are classified on the basis of the three fundamental criteria of economic and social viability (E), field project status and feasibility (F), and geological knowledge (G), using a numerical coding system. Combinations of these criteria create a three-dimensional system. Categories (e.g. El, E2, E3) and, in some cases, sub-categories (e.g. E1.1) are defined for each of the three criteria as set out and defined in Annexes I and II.3 The first set of categories (the E axis) designates the degree of favourability of social and economic conditions in establishing the commercial viability of the project, including consideration of market prices and relevant legal, regulatory, environmental and contractual conditions. The second set (the F axis) designates the maturity of studies and commitments necessary to implement mining plans or development projects. These extend from early exploration efforts before a deposit or accumulation has been confirmed to exist through to a project that is extracting and selling a commodity, and reflect standard value chain management principles. The third set of categories (the G axis) designates the level of confidence in the geological knowledge and potential recoverability of the quantities.4. The categories and sub-categories are the building blocks of the system, and are combined in the form of ""classes"". Highly concentrated pastes of gold nanoparticles were successfully produced by use of a special kind of protective polymer and a mild reductant. Solid part of the pastes consists of up to 85wt% of gold nanoparticles, 10~30 nm in diameter, and residual protective polymer. This component can be diluted by any kinds of solvent at arbitrary rates. Electronics, optics, catalysts, colorants and surface metal coatings are possible application fields. 1. Introduction Noble metal nanoparticles are of interest in a variety of fields ? such as colorants, metal coatings, electronics(1), optics(2), and chemical catalysis(3). Especially, in the color field, the gold nanoparticle has been known as an aesthetic red colorant for stained glass and fine glassware, such as Venetian glass. The mechanism of coloring is attributed to surface plasmon absorption of gold nanoparticles(4,5). The gold nanoparticle in stained glass shows very clear red color, which is very durable for hundreds years. On the other hand, the red color of organic pigment in paint films often fades away within several years. We intended to reproduce the elegant and stable coloring of stained glass in paint films. In order to color a very thin, 20~50?m, paint film like stained glass, production of highly concentrated dispersion of gold nanoparticle is necessary. To achieve this, there were two issues to be overcome. One is how to prevent the coagulation of gold nanoparticles in highly concentrated solution. So far, several methods to prepare gold nanoparticles(6,7) were reported. But only a few methods succeeded to stabilize the gold nanoparticle dispersion at higher concentration than ppm order. The other is controlling of the particle size, this is because the color of gold nanoparticles is very sensitive to the particle size. Only when the particle size lies around 10 nm, the suspension exhibits red color like stained glass.

"A brief history of the development of the Kivcet flash smelting process is presented. The broad scope of the process with an ability to treat high grade lead sulphide concentrates, as well as oxidized lead-zinc residues, is emphasized. Fine coal in the charge serves two purposes, one as auxiliary fuel and the other as a pre-reductant for ferric iron in residues. Current Kivcet operations incorporate a layer of coke or “coke checker” at the surface of the slag in the reaction shaft that acts as a reducing agent for flame products or slag that flow through it. Details of this invention, are given. IntroductionFor many years, the sinter-blast furnace lead smelting process has been the main internationally accepted method used for the production of primary lead metal. In recent times, this process has been unable to meet legislated environmental restrictions and it became clear in the mid-1960s that a new and cleaner process would have to be developed. The present level of Kivcet performance was developed in three main stages:1. flash smelting natural sulphide lead raw materials with the attached electric furnace for production of lead bullion and crude zinc;2. natural raw material smelting with lead and zinc separation in a “coke filter” or “coke checker” at the surface of the slag in the reaction shaft to produce lead bullion and ZnO-bearing slag that can be fed to conventional slag fuming; and3. processing of oxidized lead-bearing raw materials, such as low grade zinc plant residues, with the production of lead bullion and ZnO-bearing slag periodically directed to slag fuming."

THE INSTABILITY of copper prices and their low levels since late 1974 are of great concern to both producers and, to a lesser degree, consumers of copper. The price levels portrayed by the "neutral long-term" price trend are assumed to have been enough to encourage sufficient investment to provide adequate world production capacity and yet not so high as to encourage development of excessive over capacity. The identification of the present level of this trend has taken on special importance for governments and for corporations active in the world copper industry. One approach to the possible determination of such a price is through the use of moving averages. In this way, the effects of relatively short-term price movements can be dampened, as can those related to business cycles. From such averaged price data, long-term trends can be sought over a selected time period. The choice of the past time period for which a price trend is sought may have a major effect on the result'. For example, in the period 1885-1973, the long-term price trend for copper in constant dollars showed a decline, whereas in the period 1919-1973 it was rising. For the purposes of discussion, an appropriate choice of period might be a relatively short and recent one so that the majority of the present cost factors would be present throughout. It should also be long enough to cover a number of full business cycles.

The CCR refinery, which was built in 1931, treats both internal and third party copper anodes to produce 325,000 mt of copper as cathodes. These anodes contain high levels of impurities, such as Ni, As, Sb and Bi, that reports to the electrolyte during the refining step and need to be removed in order to maintain cathode quality and operating efficiencies. In the purification plant, the electrolyte is de-copperized via electrowinning in three stages. In the last stage, the copper content of the electrolyte is reduced to below 1 gpl in order to maximize the co-deposition of As, Sb and Bi with the Cu. This is accomplished with minimum arsine gas generation by using periodic reversal of the current and by controlling the final copper content of the electrolyte. Nevertheless, the possibility of exposure to arsine is treated as a major risk and controls have been implemented to reduce this risk. This paper describes the controls in place at the purification plant, which are being continuously improved through periodic risk assessments and audits. INTRODUCTION The CCR Refinery, which is a part of Glencore Canada Corporation and located in Montreal-East, Quebec, is a custom copper and precious metal refinery, with a capacity to refine 325,000 tonnes of copper anodes per year. Copper anodes are received from the Horne smelter in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec, Altonorte smelter in Chile and other 3rd party smelters. CCR anodes are produced using the spent anodes from the tankhouse along with purchased spent anodes and copper scrap. The precious metal plant treats the tankhouse anode slime, purchased anode slime, precious metal ingots and Doré anodes from Glencore’s Brunswick lead smelter in Belledune, New Brunswick. CCR products include copper cathodes, silver and gold bullion, a platinum-palladium concentrate, selenium, tellurium dioxide and nickel sulfate. In 1975 an accident occurred at CCR where two employees were exposed to fatal levels of arsine emitted from the then existing purification cells. This process was therefore shut down immediately. Research and development work was then initiated to determine the optimum electrowinning conditions whereby arsine gas generation would be minimized while maintaining high copper and impurity removal efficiencies. It was found that the application of periodic reversal of current (PRC) during the last stage of electrowinning retarded the onset of arsine formation while at the same time allowing the copper concentration to be reduced to less than 1 gpl (Houlachi & Claessens, 1978). A new purification plant was designed based on the PRC technology and was started up in 1976. In addition to the use of PRC electrowinning, the new plant is located in a fully enclosed section of the tankhouse. A special effort was made to design a ventilation system to evacuate the acid mist in addition to any arsine gas. Arsine monitors were installed to measure the emissions from the stack along with arsine levels in the workroom. The arsine monitors and the ventilation system were interlocked with the rectifiers (Thiriar et al., 1983).

China has a traditional segment of Copper Smelters with its own Chinese technology, typically small in size from 20.000 to 50.000 tCu/a, and they are responsible for the processing and production of more than 600,000 tonnes of blister copper per year. For occidental experts, like one of the authors, it is not so easy to believe that they are profitable, because the size and the use of old Blast Furnaces, but they are with simple and effective production lines. The authors are convinced that China has a good alternative to improve theses old copper production lines with small innovative changes in its process arrangement, jumping to higher level technology, more efficient in production, productivity and cost, assuring copper as a raw material for the country and its high speed development. The key to improve that the traditional Chinese Copper Smelter is white metal as an extra raw material as a first step doubling the copper production from raw materials and the complete replacement of concentrates by white metal (WM) in a second step increasing it four times or more as the final goal. It is not so difficult nor expensive to make it happen, but there are a couple of questions for implementing this innovation in the copper smelter industry: 1 - Will the old fashioned mentality be open to this new direction for China being the biggest copper consumer on one side, and the biggest copper Primary Producers on the other hand? and 2 - Will they be open to follow this "win-win" strategic way for both ends of the copper market? We don't know if anybody will take up the challenge to improve it but our responsibility as a consulting expert and a university professor is to put the alternative on table for others to decide whether to implement it.

"This paper describes an improved formulation of an analytical shear strength model developed by Haque & Kodikara (2012) by incorporating the failure of regular concrete/rock joints subjected to CNS condition. Sokolovskii’s analytical solutions developed for failure stress of slopes have been found to be effective in this regard. The analytical models have been validated for predicting the shear behaviour of concrete/rock joints subjected to various CNS loading conditions. The model has been found to accurately predict the dilation, normal stress and shear stress behaviour for a regular triangular saw-tooth joint up to the peak shear stress. Moreover, the peak shear stresses of concrete-rock joints with asperity angles ranging from 5 to 27.5o compared reasonably well with the available laboratory test results.INTRODUCTIONA new shear strength model for elastic regular triangular concrete/rock joints loaded under Constant Normal Stiffness (CNS) boundary condition has been developed by Haque & Kodikara (2012). The salient feature of this model is its capability of accurately estimating the normal and shear stresses of joints with shear displacements under CNS condition by incorporating the elastic deformation of asperities. However, the shear strength model of Haque & Kodikara (2012) for the elastic asperities cannot be directly employed to predict the peak shear stress of a joint experiencing plasticity under applied loads. Therefore, the model inevitability requires articulation of an appropriate shear failure criterion simulating the boundary conditions of the loaded asperity to predict the peak shear stress and corresponding normal stress and dilation behaviour of concrete/rock joints. Sokolovskii (1960) developed a set of analytical solutions for failure stress of slopes comprising c-??soils, which can be exploited effectively to simulate the failure condition as encountered for loaded regular triangular concrete/rock joints (Seidel & Haberfield, 2002)."

The introduction of the near net-shape casting process at CORUS Staal IJmuiden in January 2000 required changes of secondary metallurgy processes including a development towards more aggressive slag compositions in the steel ladle. Therefore the steel ladle lining has been changed from fired andalusite bricks to magnesia-carbon bricks and, most recently, to fired spinel bricks to withstand the severe slag conditions. In comparison to the andalusite bricks the new steel ladle linings have a higher thermal conductivity. This requires the capability to keep the lining warm by ladle preheaters to sustain the overall thermal stability of the steel ladle in case of interruptions during hot cycling of the ladles.

Air is the gaseous substance that envelopes the earth and forms its atmosphere. It is remarkable in the constancy of its composition; for while this is being continually changed as the result of the respiration of men and animals, and by addition of gases arising from organic changes and the products of combustion, it is ever being brought back to normal and the proper balance restored by the processes of plant and vegetable life. Nature sees to it that the air in which we live and breathe is kept purified. This does not apply to the air in a coal mine, where there are no natural forces to change and make use of the different gases formed or evolved, and where mechanical ventilation is the only effective means of keeping the air pure. The atmosphere consists of oxygen and nitrogen, not in the combined state but merely mixed. By volume, the composition is: oxygen, 21 percent, nitrogen, 79 percent, there being included with the latter small quantities of such substances as water vapour, carbon dioxide, nitric acid, ammonia, ozone, argon, neon, and organic gases. Of the two principal gases which form air, oxygen alone supports life. When air is inhaled into the lungs the oxygen is absorbed by the blood, which carries it through the body to nourish and energize it. Exhaled air consists of water vapour and about 4 per cent carbon dioxide, with from 16 1/2 to 17 per cent oxygen and 79 per cent nitrogen; the oxygen alone having been drawn on to any considerable extent.
