A new computer simulation model for the analysis of underground coal mine production systems in the Peoples Republic of China is presented. As a case study the model was used to analyse the railway system of an existing underground coal mine. Some results of this first application are given in this paper and some conclusions of common interest for underground rail haulage systems are discussed.

Monitoring conveyance position and wire rope load directly from the skip or cage top offers several significant safety and production advantages. The Spokane Research Laboratory of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) developed a shaft conveyance monitoring system (SCMS). This system consists of position and guide-displacement sensors, a maintenance-free battery power supply and a new sensor, which is mounted on the wire rope with a Crosby Clip, to measure hoist-rope tension. A radio data link transmits sensor output to the hoistroom. A state-of-the-art automated hoisting test facility was also constructed to test the concept in a controlled laboratory setting. Field tests in full-size shafts are now underway.

Impurity metals can markedly influence the anodic dissolution of gold in the presence of cyanide. Several important findings related to the influence of lead are reviewed and some new observations presented. Based on the effect of pH, the scan direction, and voltage, it may be shown there are three separate voltage regimes where lead influences the anodic dissolution of gold. These are related to Pb°/ HPbO2, Au-Pb /HPbO2, and HPbO2/PbC2; oxidation-reduction reactions which provide low resistance paths for electron exchange. The gold dissolution rate was determined by direct solution analysis and is compared to the rate implied by electrochemical measurements.

Noise induced hearing loss (NIHL) continues to be a problem in the mining industry. New noise standards (Part 62) promulgated by the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) are aimed at reducing NIHL in the mining industry. The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is conducting a cross-sectional survey of noise sources and worker noise exposures to address NIHL in mining. Noise surveys, including full-shift worker noise exposure and equipment noise profiling, have been completed in several surface coal mines, with an emphasis on draglines. The results of these studies are reported, their implications concerning worker NIHL are addressed, and their application to administrative and engineering controls is discussed.

INTRODUCTION Los Angeles is one of the world's largest cities in area with a span of 70 km between its north and south limits. The population in the Los Angeles Basin exceeds 11 million people. Los Angeles is second only to New York City in density of U.S. urban population and it operates one of the largest city bus fleets in the world, 2,500 buses. After many years of planning and many consultants' reports, it is planned to initiate a 30 km (18.5 miles) starter line subway -- the "Wilshire Corridor" (Figure 1). Construction is to start in 1985. In several locations, subway routes ultimately will skirt or cross old oil fields, which may cause gassy tunneling. Of particular note are the La Brea Tar Pits, which overlie a part of the old Salt Lake oil field. Tunneling through tar sands for about 3 km will be unique for subway construction and will occur on the starter line. Experience with previous gassy tunnels in the greater Los Angeles area shows that tunnels can be completed safely if precautions are taken. Abundant ventilation is the main solution, although other precautions are discussed herein.

A discussion of fillers would not be complete without allotting adequate time to that unique and different mineral material, diatomaceous silica. Historical references to its use challenge the aesthetic aspect of man's curiosity; whereas modern scientific tools have provided a dimension of measurement that has motivated many of its more recent applications. A brief review of what is already known is in order. The diatom is a unicellular, plant-like, microscopic organism, related to the algae1. Its natural function appears to be that of a food for other marine or lacustrine organisms, The diatom's "claim to fame" from an industrial viewpoint is dependent on the fact that it secretes an opaline siliceous skeleton that must survive, chemically and structurally, the geologic processes that caused its formation in the first place; its subsequent demise, burial, consolidation, and alteration; and finally, its ultimate exploitation by man--in somewhat that order. In addition to its siliceous nature, the skeletal structure of the diatom possesses a variety of shapes, patterns, and sizes that have not only been the intrigue of microscopists for decades, but have served to set diatomite apart as an industrial mineral; and have reserved for it applications that cannot be satisfied by any other material. Its chemical inertness, its intricate structure, and its intrinsic hardness-coupled with fineness and friability-- are generally known and have accounted for its application in a wide range of filtration and filler uses. The increasing use of the electron microscope has considerably expanded our knowledge of heretofore unseen secondary and tertiary structure of submicron dimension in the diatom valve. The development of electro-sensing methods of particle size measurement which seem to supersede sedimentation and microscopic techniques has portrayed size distribution in a more realistic light. Interest in the surface chemistry of these silica structures has further strengthened our understanding for certain uses. Thus, new tools and ideas have made possible the introduction of diatomite into such sophisticated technologies as that of chromatographic supports, its improved utility in paint applications for the control of gloss and sheen, and its usefulness in the entirely new concept of "Dry Acid Concentrates." Each of these applications has been discussed elsewhere before people particularly interested in analytical chemistry, in paint, and in liquid handling, respectively, where the diatom has been a means to an end. The emphasis here, before the mining fraternity, however is on diatomite as a raw material with reference to the uses mentioned above. It is therefore toward an awareness and understanding of diatomite properties pertinent to these newer filler applications that this paper is directed.

Investigations have been carried out to evolve a grinding aid useful in grinding a 40% iron-bearing magnetite containing quartz as the major gangue, based on studies conducted with pure magnetite, pure quartz and its synthetic mixture. These investigations established that an addition of 200 g of CaO per metric ton of ore was the most effective in grinding quartz preferentially over magnetite at 75% solids concentration by weight. The limited rheological studies conducted suggest that the effect could either be due to dispersion or the structural modification of quartz. More importantly, a new concept, that of Critical Solids Concentration, where two different minerals behave like one with respect to response to communication in a tumbling mill, has been introduced for the, first time. Above this concentration, one of the minerals is ground at a faster rate than the other, whereas the reverse is the case below this concentration.

"INTRODUCTION Chino is an open-pit copper mining complex faced with intricate material routing requirements. Historically, this was challenging at the mine, in part because the shovel dig plan, haul plan, and dump plan were prepared completely separately. The mine now uses an integrated workflow for faster evaluation of schedules, which facilitates preparing balanced cutoff grade-to-equipment requirements, supports better mineral production, and improves schedule viability, while considering operational implications. Located in the state of New Mexico, Chino is one of nine Freeport-McMoRan mining operations in North America. This presentation discusses the benefits of implementing an integrated approach to tactical mine planning, and shares practical examples that were learned as Chino implemented an integrated tactical planning method. This includes improvements in completion time for preparing a schedule, minimal risk from manipulating Excel macros, data integration required to make short-term planning decisions, and better understanding of the mine plan’s effect in relation to the business’s key performance indicators. Ultimately, the integrated approach to tactical mine planning at Chino has led to production forecasts which are more achievable and reduced planning and execution variance. PROJECT OVERVIEW Chino mine is a porphyry copper deposit wholly owned by Freeport-McMoRan, the largest publicly traded copper producer in the world. Chino mine is located in Grant County, New Mexico, a short distance east of Silver City. Ore material mined from the pit today includes oxides, primary sulfides, and secondary sulfides. The mineralized material is sent to a mill, with a rated throughput of 42,000 tons per day, or to ROM leach pads with variable dumping capacities. At Chino, the short-range objective is to maximize total copper pounds sent to the mill, but no fixed cutoff grade accomplishes this for all periods. Instead, 12 different material classifications, including four sulfide classes that can feed either the mill or other destinations, and 38 cutoff bins, are aligned with the needs from operations, leaching, and the concentrator to create a schedule. Cutoffs vary from one week to another to cope with a highly intermittent ore body."

This research is the result of a geotechnical study carried out in a natural slope in an Open Pit mine in Southern Peru, highlighting earthquakes as an important cause of instability within the case study presented. This leads to analyze the stability of a slope, according to the safety factor and thus consider a future construction in its environment according to the identified requirements. There are known disasters at national and international level that involve human lives because of the lack of analysis of slope stability conditions, which based on the results will allow to control and to take adequate corrective measures. These mass movements are classified whether they are soils or rocks, considering the mechanism and type of rupture, as well as the presence of water, the speed and magnitude of the movement. The movement problems are due to factors of inherent nature and constitute a reason to perform a calculation study to analyze and estimate the safety factor of each of the evaluated cases

On October 27, 1972, ground was broken for the first section of the Second Avenue Subway, a two track underground rail system that was to extend from the south end of Manhattan at Broad Street, north to the Harlem River at 126th Street, a distance of eight miles. This ground breaking was the culmination of 67 years of planning for an east side subway in Manhattan. Following the successful opening of New York City's first subway on October 1904 there was a mass planning for additional subways throughout the City. In 1905 approval was requested of the Board of Estimate for a First Avenue route and Third Avenue route. The Third Avenue route was approved but when action was not taken to start construction, the approval in accordance with the conditions under which it was given was withdrawn. Further reports and plans for an east side subway, usually to be constructed on Third Avenue, were issued in 1920, in 1922, in 1924, etc. Those of us who had worked on the Sixth and Eighth Avenue subways in the thirites and early forties left to join the armed services of World War II in the expectation that we would return and start work on designing and constructing that east side subway. The reason that much of the thrust in those years was to construct on Third Avenue was that there was a Third Avenue "EL" and business interests of the City were in favor of its demolition. This demolition was accomplished in 1955 so one of the incentives to construct on Third Avenue was removed; but an east side subway was always part of the master plan of the City.

This paper is not written to "break new ground" in computer applications; it is just a treatment of how an operating metal mine utilizes a mainframe computer for planning, analyzing, and reporting on the ventilation and cooling systems. The Unisys mainframe computer at the mine site is used in programs that analyze the ventilation network, keep records on various ventilation installations, calculate the results of measurements and produce reports on ventilation conditions in the working places and on the main air distribution, and plan and analyze the cooling system. All the programs are interactive to terminals. There are a series of data files that are generated by some programs which may be used by other programs. Most of these programs have been developed in-house. The computer is also used as a word processor via a vendor-supplied text editing program to produce memos, letters, and to keep up-to-date lists of equipment used.

After 15 years of production, 91 Mt (100 million st) of ore mined and nearly 227 kt (500 million lb) of molybdenum produced, Climax Molybdenum Co.'s Henderson Mine and Mill are being modernized as a new mining level is brought on line. The $40 million investment in mine development and plant modernization positions the Henderson complex as one of the largest, low-cost primary molybdenum producers for the next 15 years. Henderson history The Henderson Mine and Mill facilities are located on the east and west flanks of the Continental Divide about 80 km (50 miles) west of Denver, CO. The underground mine and surface mill sites are linked by 16 km (10 mile) of railroad tunnel and 8 km (5 mile) of surface trackage. The mine, railroad and mill were built between 1968 and 1976 at a cost of $500 million. Each has operated at various levels of production over the past 15 years. The Henderson Mine was originally developed using a highly mechanized, panel caving mining system. Over the past 10 years, mining methods, equipment and railroad operations have been improved to position Henderson as one of the most productive and lowest cost underground mining operations. At the same time, the mill and concentrator facilities were upgraded to reduce costs and improve product quality. During this time, manpower was reduced from 2000 to 560 employees. These 560 people increased productivity to 54 t (60 st) per total manshift. They reduced operating costs by 50%. And they dramatically improved safety performance. However, as the 1990s approached, the modernization of the Henderson mining and milling complex and the development of the new 7700 mining level became the primary goals to guide Henderson into the 21st century.

The paper under discussion provides an excellent and concise study of compartment ergonomics for thin seam equipment. However, in accomplishing this, some very important operational aspects were ignored. Since these are likely to be determinant, the authors' response is solicited. The novel shuttle car with its cross-car, end-mounted compartment is operationally very different from the current one. The latter can be considered a highly mobile extension of the continuous miner or loader, with a pass-through conveyor, dump boom, and extra storage. As such, the vehicle's kinematics are the simple "I," or shuttle pattern, bent for going around pillars, with an intermediate stop at the "change-out point" (Adler, 1986 ). The action of the cable reel adjusts well to this pattern. The proposed shuttle car's motion either superimposes a "Y," time is lost (5 seconds) for each cycle, space is needed, line of sight is compromised, and a cable anchor is probably required at the dump. A chute is almost prohibitive in construction time and cost. The lack of a dump boom further curtails flexibility in the proposal. The value of a standard hand and opposite standard hand configuration also needs consideration. Many front-end loaders have a rocker (overshot) capability that is designed to achieve an "I” pattern. And crawler loaders sometimes use a side dumping bucket variant for the same purpose. These examples indicate the pattern's importance. For underground, thin seam application, the ram car has become popular. This is an articulated truck, battery-powered, and with an ejector dump. Its operational patterns would be similar to the novel shuttle car, except without the loading flexibility provided by a conveyor. Since the cab location of the proposed shuttle car largely obviates some of the major advantages of the present shuttle car, the question arises whether this configuration could be adapted to the current ram car and scoop

INTRODUCTION Early in the morning of July 16, 1979, there was a breach in the earthen retaining dam of a tailings pond at the United Nuclear Corporation's (UNC's) Church Rock uranium mill. The acidified liquid and tailings slurry spilled through the damaged portion of the retaining wall into an arroyo that is a tributary to the Rio Puerco river system. The Rio Puerco runs through Gallup, New Mexico, and eventually crosses the New Mexico-Arizona border (Fig. 1). On its way to Gallup, the Rio Puerco and its tributaries pass through land with a checkerboard pattern of ownership, with portions owned or leased by the Navajos, individuals, the Bureau of Land Management, and the State. In terms of tailings liquid volume (3.6 x 108L; 94 million gal), the UNC spill ranks as one of the largest. The mass of solids released in the slurry (10.0 x 105 kg; 1 100 tons) appears to be close to the median for accidents of this kind, however [U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), 1979]. The UNC first opened its Church Rock uranium mill in 1977 on land adjacent to acreage belonging to the Navajo tribe. The mill, which is next to the UNC Church Rock mine, is located approximately 16 km (10 miles) northeast of Gallup, New Mexico (Fig. 1). Gallup, a town of 18 000 people, is the closest population center. The region surrounding the plant site is sparsely populated by Navajos, at a density of approximately 5.8 persons/km2 (15 persons/sq mile). The UNC mill and mines employ approximately 650 persons, and the adjacent Kerr-McGee uranium mine employs about 300. The UNC mill normally processes 3.2 x 106kg/day (3 500 tons/day) of uranium ore, depositing the acidified tailings slurry in a series of three earthen holding ponds. The tailings ponds are located east of the pipeline arroyo that feeds into the Rio Puerco approximately 2.4 km (1.5 miles) from the southernmost tailings dam. The liquid portion of the tailings slurry evaporates in the ponds; hence, under normal conditions, there is no surface flow from the holding ponds to the arroyo. Both runoff from the plant site after heavy rains and possible seepage from the tailings ponds may deliver radionuclides to the arroyo-river system, however. The dam across the southernmost tailings pond was considered to be in keeping with the state of the art. However, the New Mexico Environmental Improvement Division (NMEID) had warned UNC about dangers of locating the pond over a heterogeneous geological formation. The state Engineer's Office approved of the site only after UNC agreed to strict design criteria. Others have pointed to dangers of constructing earthen dams for impoundment of uranium mill tailings (Carter, 1978). Causes of the dam break were multiple: the UNC mill filled the tailings pond to a level that exceeded permit criteria; the tailings pond was lined improperly; the dam was constructed using clay that was compacted excessively, resulting in cracking and subsequent seepage; and the unstable substrate beneath the dam permitted differential settling. The UNC Church Rock mine has continuously released dewatering effluent into the pipeline arroyo at a rate of 88.3 L/sec (1 400 gal/min) since 1968. Before 1975 this effluent was not treated; after 1975 it received precipitation treatment for removal of Ra-226. Radionuclides are also released into the river system through the dewatering of the Kerr-McGee uranium mine 1.6 km (1.0 mile) north of the UNC mill. During usual mining operations, approximately 227 L/sec (3 600 gal/min) are released into the pipeline arroyo and subsequently into the Rio Puerco. The Kerr-McGee mine began continuous release of dewatering effluent in January 1972. In 1974 Kerr-McGee began Ra-226 precipitation treatment of its dewatering releases, but NMEID data indicate that treatment has often been incomplete. The effluent from both mines has been responsible for transforming the downstream portion of the Rio Puerco from a sporadically dry riverbed into a continuously flowing stream and has contributed to the current levels of background radiation along the river system (Table 1). This paper will summarize the postspill monitoring efforts and relate the assessment of this spill to the general question of evaluating the health effects of nuclear fuel-cycle wastes. The data pertaining to the measurement of radionuclides in the Church Rock environment and the radionuclide concentrations in animals will appear in forthcoming reports. CHURCH ROCK HEALTH EFFECTS ASSESSMENT APPROACH The initial health effects evaluation involved identifying the radionuclides that were released into the river system from the tailings pond. Table 1 lists the State of New Mexico maximum permissible radionuclide concentrations for liquids released to unrestricted areas, the typical tailings liquid concentrations, and postspill river water concentrations. The tailings liquid contained comparatively high levels of Th-230, Ra-226, Pb-210, and Po-210--all of which, according to postspill river water samples, had exceeded the state maximum permissible concentrations (MPC) at one time or another. After the radionuclides in the tailings were identified, pathways through which humans could be exposed were clarified. Two 32 foot x 14% foot, 6.4 MW autogenous mills have been installed in the Mount Isa Mines Copper Concentrator to replace the fine crushing plant, fine ore bin, rod mills and primary ball mills. This paper describes the reasons for the change, the rationale for the new circuit design and configuration, the design and scale-up processes used to size the mills, considerations for the installation of large mills inside an operating concentrator and some early operating data.

Mining haul trucks comprise the majority of the equipment used in underground limestone mining operations and are known to emit high levels of noise. A previous study conducted by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) indicates that 70-90 percent of all miners have a noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) great enough to be classified as a hearing disability by retirement age. These results demonstrate the public health need to protect the hearing of workers in the mining industry, including haul truck drivers. ng of workers in the mining industry, including haul truck drivers. Cab enclosures present an opportunity to isolate the haul truck operator from both truck and other noise in the mining environment. A total of twenty-five haul truck cabs were studied which were divided into three style (treatment) categories determined by soundproofing features and technology for noise reduction: old-, new-, and retrofitted-style. This study examines the contribution of cab acoustics, operator performance, and maintenance to noise reduction for each cab style. Dosimeters were used to measure 8-hr time weighted average sound pressure levels (TWA8 SPLs) inside and outside the cabs to determine if different acoustical treatments affect cab attenuation. Adherence to the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) Permissible Exposure Limit (PEL) of 90 dB TWA8 (with a 90 dB threshold) was used as the main indicator of overall noise reduction achieved. Dosimetery results indicate only 2% of the samples exceeded the PEL, but samples could still be reduced much further. Descriptive and comparative statistics indicate that noise levels inside the new-style cabs are significantly lower than the other two cab styles. Also, data suggest that there is no difference in noise exposures when comparing the old-style to retrofitted cab styles. Operator influence (opening doors and windows) was a significant factor for increasing noise exposure. This paper demonstrates that properly designed cabs can achieve major noise reductions, but noise levels could still be reduced much further below the MSHA PEL. New-style cabs, equipped with modern noise-reduction treatments, exhibit much lower noise exposures than the other two cabs styles, and the effectiveness of the current noise-reduction treatments for retrofitted cabs is questionable. Haul truck driver observations indicate that improved noise exposure reduction training is needed. Finally, specific targets for future noise reduction research are suggested that will further contribute to the prevention of hearing loss for haul truck operators.

Mineral processing activities in general reflected the economic ills of 1981 and early 1982, but in some areas the depressed state of the industry resulted in increased activity. As were all aspects of the minerals industry, processing plant operations were severely affected by the recession-prone economy, by sagging prices for primary metal products-copper, molybdenum, nickel, iron, manganese, and especially uranium-and numerous shutdowns and layoffs. Copper production by major producers in Arizona and Utah was severely curtailed; Amax, the major US molybdenum, producer did considerable belt-tightening; and the uranium industry was in a state of disaster. Even the precious metal superstars-gold and silver-were affected, with a steady decline throughout the year in world market prices. Perhaps hardest hit have been newly developed properties, particularly in the uranium industry, and old-line properties where historical development impacts today. No longer can such properties afford the luxuries, for example, of a long haul distance between mine and plant or continued use of antiquated facilities. Surprisingly enough, the very state of the economy has caused increased activity in some sectors of the mineral processing industry. In mill design, although large projects have been tabled, smaller projects have gone on, with innovations in design, often for cost-saving reasons, that will affect future designing approaches. Economic restrictions are impacting on mill flowsheets as researchers look for improvements and better, less expensive techniques. Other unit processes-hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, concentration, materials handling-are impacted by the need for a better, less costly product. Although at the end of the first quarter of 1982, no major environmental legislation had been enacted, rumors persist that there will be a loosening of some of the stricter standards, both in the requirements themselves and in the time allowance for implementation. The year had seen some relaxation in how current legislation and standards are administered. For example, in OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) operations, there has been a shift toward voluntary checking of industry compliance with work rules, rather than emphasis on agency inspections. However, the industry continues to view environmental factors as having major influence on future operations and efforts to design for environmental safety are becoming almost as important as the processes themselves. Throughout the industry there has been a further focussing on project management, recognizing the necessity for tight control of budgets and schedules-and the systems used to effect them. Many modern export terminals are now in construction while others have either been held up or cancelled. Economics and environmental permits have been some of the major problems. Currently under construction are terminals in Newport News, VA; Charleston, SC; and Baltimore, MD. Expansion of existing facilities at Mobile, AL, and New Orleans, LA, is also well under way. A wide variety of systems and components are being used. They include traveling shiploaders, tunnel and bucket wheel reclaim¬ers, stackers and high line trippers, and bottom and side dump-type car dumpers. The full importance of tailings disposal is yet to be realized by the mining industry, but our awareness of its present and future implications is growing faster, perhaps, than any single phase of ore processing. Few engineers can look very far into the future because of the complexity of the problems that may confront us if we project from the general indifference of past years through what we are already being expected to correct in existing operations, to confrontations with new statutes and an awakened public in any new plants hence- forth. The mistakes of the past have not been limited to the United States nor even to other countries of the Western Hemisphere. Indeed, all continents and subcontinents have suffered from myopia in releasing the tailings without retaining responsibility. However, the US as one of the world's great leaders in technology has a particularly unimpressive record. It may be safely generalized that the degree of control applied to the tailings of a milling operation has depended upon several factors more important than national boundaries. Thus in arid and semiarid climates no incentive was needed other than the scarcity of water to create a permanent and stable lodgment for mill tailings. On the other hand. where water has been plentiful. the temptation to let the tailings run into a river or lake or ocean (at least at certain times of the year) was often irresistible. So we find that modem tailings disposal in the southwest deserts of this country, with one or two notable exceptions where very serious breaks seem to occur at regular intervals, is satisfactory according to the standards of the 195QF and 1960s. while in various operations in Idaho, Michigan, western Colorado. Newfoundland, and elsewhere the record has been less praiseworthy. In the same way, cyanide plants which did not concern themselves about leakage, seepage, spillage, or wastage of tailings pulps with solutions containing toxic levels of free or combined cyanide soon heard a demand for better control. In consequence the industry has seen a growing use of cyanide regeneration of tailings or wash solutions, elimination of leakage, and careful structuring of tailing dams. The chemical and thermal qualities of tailing waters have occasionally been a spur to good tailings management. Some tailings disposal problems for example, the southeastern Florida phosphate clays and the Bayer red muds-have been given the intensive study they merited, but not always with much success.

Large volume sand plugs are placed in tunnels to stem underground explosions at the Atomic Energy Commision's Nevada Test Site. Placement through long, narrow accessways is like stemming coyote holes and blast chambers in mining and construction. Experience with several other methods showed that pipeline conveying could be preferable. Small scale tests justified predicting a placement rate of 20 y. p. h. at 1000 feet, with a modified gunite placer. The initial production trial placed over 2000 c. y. and was estimated to effect a small cost saving after paying for new equipment. Initial problems included duct replacement and supply delays, dust, and other personnel hazards. Operations analysis and SOP'S reduced delays during the second field trial, minimized hazards, doubled production. Re cent re search and operations analyses produced data on abrasion resistant ducts, identified minor equipment modifications which can improve production, developed techniques for impact compaction to 90% ?maximum? and for extension of the practical range to 2000 feet. Twenty-two illustrations include an air consumption-distance chart.

The dissolution behavior of palladium powder in thiourea solutions was investigated. The variables studied were temperature, stirring speed and the concentrations of thiourea, acid and ferric ion. Palladium was found to be soluble in thiourea solutions in the presence of an oxidant such as ferric ion. The dissolution of palladium in thiourea solutions was believed to be chemical-reaction controlled, with an apparent activation energy of about 25.3 kJ/mol.
