This paper reviews the increased use of mechanization in order to develop lateral headings efficiently and economically. Particular emphasis is placed on the role of the Electric-Hydraulic Drill Jumbo in achieving this goal. Also, the use of modified mining equipment to suit various operating conditions is discussed.

This paper relates the results obtained by decreasing the size of feed to a rod mill screen circuit. As would be expected, added production was gained and a finer grind with no tonnage loss was made possible.
