The results of the washing of coal are often presented by using Partition Curves. By analogy, it is possible to express the results of screening by using similar partition curves. As in the coal washing processes, this method determines the accuracy of screening and is also suitable for different separations depending on the difference in size distribu- tion. This method compares the effectiveness of two screening operations and forecasts the performances.

A numerical groundwater model was used to predict the nature of interactions between heavy mineral sands mining operations and the groundwater regime at North Stradbroke Island, Southeast Queensland. North Stradbroke Island is formed mainly of massive vegetated Cainozoic aged dune sands. Since the 1950s, a number of operations have mined rutile, zircon and ilmenite on North Stradbroke Island. In such mining operations, a dredge and an associated processing plant are floated in a pond either above or below the prime groundwater table The numerical model was based on the North Stradbroke Island Groundwater Management Model, developed in 2001 by the Department of Natural Resources and Mines (NR&M). This model was constructed using the modular, cell-centred, finite-difference groundwater flow model, MODFLOW, developed by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The NR&M model was refined to improve model resolution and detail for simulating dredge mine paths. Of particular interest were: water table fluctuations induced by mining for the identification of slope stability risk; the optimisation of sand spear arrays supplying mine make-up water requirements; inflow and outflow rates to the dredge pond for overall mine water balance; and interactions with Eighteen Mile Swamp and water supply bores controlled by the Redland Shire Council (RSC). Depending on the water level in the dredge pond compared with the surrounding groundwater table, water either flows out of the dredge pond into the groundwater regime or from the groundwater system into the dredge pond. The MODFLOW river package (RIV) was utilised for the modelling study. Dredge pond movement was simulated using specialised software developed by Watermark Numerical Computing (WNC) to interpolate pond positions and map the dredge path to the model grid both spatially and temporally. As tailings placement affects the groundwater system through increased recharge, the MODFLOW recharge package (RCH) was utilised to simulate different recharge efficiencies. Long-term model predictions were made for the period from July 2002 to May 2021. Results of the modelling showed that exchanges of flow between mining operations and the groundwater regime could be effectively managed. The study provided valuable information which was used to develop an appropriate mine water management plan.

Forrestania Nickel Mines is owned and operated by Outokumpu Mining Australia Pty Ltd and is situated 400 km east of Perth, WA in the Forrestania Greenstone Belt. Production started in late-1992 at a rate of 600 ktpa and reserves were exhausted in August 1999. Cosmic Boy is the largest of three mines worked and operates in a high stress environment with both very high and very low rock mass strength domains. Stoping commenced in 1995 using conventional benching with long hole slot rises but because of drilling and blasting problems the mine switched to airleg rising. In 1997 the mining method was changed to smaller scale up hole retreat benching with each stope requiring a slot rise of up to 16 m length. This method does not allow top access to the rise location and so airleg rising was used until mid-1998. At this stage mining was approaching areas of higher stress for which it was clear that an alternative to this entry method of rising was required. Small diameter raise boring and Cubex rigs were considered but because of the set up costs were not considered to be viable. Since the ore is relatively soft, burn cuts were developed to make use of specially designed 152, 203 and 254 mm diameter reamer bits (depending on the rise length) and drilled with conventional long hole drilling equipment. These rises are fired in one blast together with the slot rings. In the northern lower section of the mine (below 400 m) the principle stress has been estimated at 60 MPa and this causes minor strain bursting in BIF development headings and loose material to form on walls and backs. Trials of destress blasting modelled on Canadian experience has greatly reduced strain bursting at the face. However only around 300 m of development was affected and so this method had not been optimised when mine development was completed.

Complex sulphide ores are characterised by complex texture of the valuable minerals. Any assessment of the performance of differential flotation circuits treating such ore should include analysis of the effects of poor liberation of the valuable minerals. Selected samples were taken from balanced size by size surveys of the flotation section of a concentrator treating an ore body containing fine grained galena and sphalerite in a matrix of iron sulphides which is mostly pyrite. liberation measurements were made using the QEM*SEM system on four or seven size fractions. The measurements indicated that less than 40 per cent of the galena and less than 60 per cent of the sphalerite in the flotation feed was liberated. The final concentrates were largely composed of composites of valuable minerals and iron sulphide however there was a small but significant fraction of liberated iron sulphide. Using the sized mineral flows obtained from the original balances and the liberation measurements, a satisfactory liberation balance was obtained. This enabled the effect of liberation on the flotation performance to be examined; not only for the entire circuit but also in the rougher, scavenger and cleaning sections. In the zinc circuit the effect of a regrind mill could be assessed. Recovery of galena in the lead circuit was limited by the recovery of composite lead particles. Recovery of liberated galena exceeded 95 per cent in all size fractions while the recovery of composite galena exceeded 85 per cent below 38 ¦m but fell sharply above 38 ¦m. Examination of the behaviour of the liberated and composite galena in the various sections of the lead flotation circuit revealed high recoveries of both liberated and composite galena particles in the roughing and scavenging sections but very low recoveries in the final two cleaning stages. Similar trends to those observed in the lead circuit applied in the zinc circuit although the performance of the liberated sphalerite also fell off at sizes greater than 38 pm in this case. Thus the zinc recovery was limited by the flotation of both the liberated and the composite sphalerite. The effect of regrinding was to increase the recovery of sphalerite mainly by reducing the amounts of sphalerite in less liberated sizes rather than by increasing the liberation of the sphalerite within a given size Fraction.

This is the second of a series of papers dealing with Geology in Exploration. The first, published by the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, Proceedings Nos. 143-144, 1946, was written as an introduction to the subject and employed the exploration geology of the Cobar field to illustrate the prospect thinking. This paper will be concerned with the problem of ore repetition in depth and borrow its- example from the Mount Lyell copper field. The writing will be taken up altogether by the example. Nevertheless the intention remains to develop the subject in terms of its wide interest and application.The Mount Lyell field possesses large actual and prospective resources within, and in the vicinity of, the known deposits. This paper does not bear at all on these accessible ore reserves and tangible prospects. There is also in this area evidence of deep ore. The possibility is of little practical interest at present. But the picture of ore repetition, exemplified by the Mount Lyell field, does matter now to the outlook on exploration in this country. For once this essential feature of ore occurrence is widely understood there may develop, on the scale warranted, the search for major deposits which do not outcrop but which are still at shallow depths because of the part erosion plays in this story of concealment and exposure of ore. Also there is the chance in some fields (including Mount Lyell) of a second harvest of orebodies within mineable depths. This exploration goal, introduced in the first paper, will appear more clearly as the Geology in Exploration series is written up. Here the concern is to show the character of the geological evidence which points to the occurrence and recurrence of ore in the earth's crust, the picture at the foundation of this exploration scheme. Hydrothermal scheelite precipitated in fault-veins at Paradise, Bonnie Jean, Davidson's and Glenorchy mines display chemical variability involving REE patterns that are transitional between two end-member types. Type I is a MREE-enriched pattern with no or a small positive Eu anomaly. Type II is a flat to MREE-depleted pattern with a strong positive Eu anomaly. The chemical inhomogeneity of these scheelites can be explained by a model of fractional precipitation of REE, with preferential removal of MREE from the fluid during precipitation of scheelite. Irrespective of the mechanism responsible for scheelite precipitation, the source of dissolved constituents is different for scheelites from the Paradise Mine. Bonnie Jean, Davidson's and Glenorchy scheelites formed from LREE-enriched fluids whereas Paradise scheelites precipitated from fluids that were lower in LREE. These inferred fluid characteristics cannot be linked unambiguously to specific source rocks in the region, but could suggest that scheelite deposited in the Paradise fault-vein reflects a more mafic source of REE possibly greenschists, whereas the REE in scheelite from the other mines suggest a more felsic source.

Uncertainty due to spatial and temporal variability of different pollutants found in soil, water and air is an important issue in the modelling of environmental impacts. Recognition of spatial environmental patterns is relatively straightforward to achieve by applying most of the well-known artificial neural networks or adopting a stochastic approach. However, it is the temporal component of the environmental variables that makes modelling of the environmental pollutants particularly complicated and challenging. This paper presents the results of a case study investigating the artificial neural network performance when modelling the spatio-temporal behaviour of environmental pollutants. The test case involved the modelling and prediction of the distribution of water quality indicators along a river from the point of discharge of treated mine effluents. The behaviour of river water quality indicators is rather complex and shows a lot of fluctuations due to a number of hydrochemical, hydrobiological and hydrodynamic factors. Results obtained in this study indicate that artificial neural networks provide a very powerful and robust method for simultaneous modelling of spatio-temporal behaviour of environmental pollutants.

Over the past 15 years, Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques have shown promise of providing the ability to capture `human intelligence' into a computer program. The sub-fields of Expert Systems and Artificial Neural Networks are finding increased use in industry to perform tasks previously considered the domain of human thinking. But, are these methods just a new type of software much like that of the past or is real magic hidden within the lines of code? Will this field continue to enjoy high growth rates and if so, what developments will we see in the near future? Which algorithms and methodologies will continue to grow? This paper discusses a number of paradigms which can be used to create successful applications. There are certain barriers; some psychological - some linked with knowledge acquisition, that must be overcome or avoided to ensure system performance. Development time also requires careful consideration before embarking on an Al project. The paper focusses on constructing goal-driven systems that transfer high-technology solutions from the research laboratory to the plant floor. Respect for system users is of paramount importance - whether their involvement is to access contained information or to participate in program maintenance as new knowledge becomes available. Examples of successful and unsuccessful AI implementation in Canadian industry and academia provide evidence of the importance of this issue. The paper also examines some current constraints on applying AI in the real-world. Among these problems are automated knowledge acquisition, methods to acquire data during run-time, real-time systems (hardware versus software), explanation and justification features and adaptive/leaning systems.

Electronic detonator technology has been under development for the last two decades. Currently, there are a number of systems commercially available with several others still under development, each with its own unique features. This technology can offer a significant advantage to the drill and blast engineer through their ability to initiate an explosive charge at the æplannedÆ time. This new technology has created huge interest within the drill and blast community and also raised their expectations to produce better blasting outcomes. In many cases, specifications (or even expectations) of desired blast results are not properly defined. Interaction between the input variables (rock mass characteristics and blast design) and results (fragmentation, throw, damage, ground vibrations, etc) and their mechanisms, or relationship to one another, are not very well defined or understood. That is why rock blasting is still considered by many as an art rather than science. With one of the few remaining variables (cap scatter) now controllable, todayÆs blaster finally has the ability to apply science to his trade. Even though electronic detonators are available and becoming more commonly used, current field practices are not always conducive to extracting or deriving the maximum benefit from this new technology. In the authorÆs opinion, the following need to be understood to derive and sustain the maximum value: clear definition or specification(s) of desired outcomes from a given blast; impact of different features in an electronic detonator system (precision, accuracy, flexibility, reliability, etc) and their impact on the desired blasting outcomes; interaction of blast design variables (energy, energy distribution, timing, blast geometry) and their impact on desired outcomes; impact of rock mass variability and quality of blast implementation on the desired blasting outcomes; and critical need to utlilise appropriate tools and systems in order to measure and quantify benefits.In the authorÆs opinion a scientific implementation process is the key to derive the benefits. This paper analyses the industryÆs preparedness to derive the benefits from this technology and proposes a scientific methodology to understand, evaluate and sustain the value from this technology.

A novel solvent extraction process, called the SOHNEX process, has been developed at the University of Utah. In this process, the organic and the aqueous phases flow countercurrently in a horizontal vessel, and the emulsion between the two liquid phases is generated by high-velocity gas jets injected at the bottom. The gas jets are located at certain intervals along the bottom of the vessel with phase disengagement zones on either side of the plume zone created by the gas jet. The system is simple, having no mechanical moving parts or complex internal structures, and yet provides good contact between the phases with minimal backmixing. Tests have shown that emulsions with a wide range of specific interfacial area, including that typically encountered in mixer-settlers, can be generated in this process. It has significant built-in flexibility of operation including the control of the flowrate and hold-up of each liquid phase. The SOHNEX process overcomes the difficulties in the operation of conventional solvent extraction equipment such as mixer-settlers and column extractors. A major advantage of the SOHNEX process is that the energy of mixing can be closely controlled by adjusting the strength of the gas jet. This allows an optimal control of the drop-size distribution of the dispersed phase and thus the specific interfacial area. The process is continuous, and any number of extraction and separation stages may be built into a single vessel. The gas can be recirculated in a closed loop, thus eliminating solvent loss and mist problems, especially for high-temperature operations. The SOHNEX problem can handle solutions that contain suspended solids and that form third phases. The simplicity of the equipment and operation with low maintenance will mean much reduced capital and operating costs as well as low environmental risks and improved safety. The SOHNEX process has been tested for continuous copper extraction from a dilute solution. Calculations also showed that uranium and other radioactive elements can readily be extracted in a small unit of the SOHNEX extractor while satisfying the nuclear criticality condition.

Graham Hall and V. M. Cottle (Rosebery, Tas.) : In their paper on "The Mineralized Rift Valleys of Tasmania", Campana, Dickinson, King and Matheson have summarized a wealth of data from many sources. In proposing the new concept of a rift valley structure, they claim to have found a new guide to regional ore control and distribution in North-west Tasmania.Although the authors acknowledge suggestions made by us prior to publication of the pa:per, we are still at variance with their conclusions. We are not convinced that a rift valley structure exist~d when the Ordovician conglomerate was deposited. We are unable to find evidence for Cambrian deposition in a rift valley or reason to project the structure to embrace Hercules, Rosebery, and "possibly" Mt Bischoff.That the Great Lyell Fault (the authors' Owen Rift Fault) is a promising place to look for ore is not a new idea, but the existence of important ore deposits away from the structure reveals its inability to provide an adequate explanation of regional mineral distribution. A well-known structure that does have an influence on ore deposition is not discussed by the authors.STRUCTURAL CONSIDERATIONSThe great thickness of coarse unsorted Ordovician conglomerate lying in an elongate but narrow belt of country is presented as evidence of its deposition centrally within a rift valley, the position-of which is now said to be outlined by resistant slabs of the conglomerate. The marginal shears of the rift are said to show up well along the edges of the conglomerate.

The Ranger Project Area covers 78.6sq km and is approximately six km east-west by 14km north-south (Fig. 1). The area is known to con- tain two uranium orebodies, Ranger No. 1 and No. 3, two uranium occurrences, Anomalies 4 and 5 and three significant radon anomalies, Ranger 18, 19 and 48. The Ranger No. 1 and No. 3 Orebodies con- tain approximately 120 000 tonnes of U308 in highly chloritised metasediments of the Lower Proterozoic Cahill Formation. The orebodies occur as suboutcrop and exhibit significant radiometric anomalies. These occur within approximately 400m vertically of the projected unconformity with the sandstone of the Middle Proterozoic Kombolgie Formation. Oxidised and reduced uranium minerals occur in quartz-rich schists containing variable muscovite, chlorite and sericite and in the chloritic matrix of chert breccia. Secondary uranium minerals namely saleeite, metatorbernite and gummite associated with earthy iron oxides occur from the surface to 50m depth in No. 1 Orebody and up to 80m depth in No. 3 Orebody. Below the oxidised zone, uranium occurs as pitchblende finely disseminated throughout sequences of quartz muscovite chlorite schist up to 150m thick and as open space fillings in zones of structural deformation. The uranium-bearing schists directly overlie up to 300m of dolomite and magnesite containing minor interbedded schist units and are themselves overlain by approximately 2 000m of more micaceous schists of the upper part of the Cahill Formation. Regional metamorphism has occurred to at least amphibolite facies and has been followed by retrograde metamorphism to a greenschist facies equivalent. The metasediments are intruded by granitic pegmatites and dolerites. Uranium is associated strongly with chlorite of which there are at least five textural varieties. Not all of the various generations of chlorite have associated uranium. Graphitic schist horizons occur which are often less than one metre thick and discontinuous. These are best developed at the base of the quartz chlorite schist sequence where uranium grades up to 1 000ppm U may extend for several hundred metres beyond the main ore zone. Uran- ium is not common in the carbonate sequences and only occurs in chlorite segregations in disrupted zones. The unoxidised ore contains sulphides, mostly pyrite, which are low in abundance (

This paper is directed at the problems flowing from Australia's capital gains tax (CGT) on the disposal of exploration and mining tenements both in Australia and overseas. It will seek to identify the issues and give some idea of the dollar consequences of decisions lacking forethought. The paper should not only be seen in the context of Australian tenements. CGT applies to the disposal of any assets by an Australian resident anywhere in the world. Offshore incorporated companies are not necessarily free from CGT risk where it can be shown that control management and control of the relevant company is in Australia. Also the disposal by non residents of Australian tenements are potentially caught by CGT. Some will ask what has taxation got to do with a valuer who merely determines the value of assets. These days no determination can be blind to the consequences. Whether the consequences can encourage a movement in value is another thing dependent upon the circumstances; but? A role of an experienced taxation consultant is to point out parameters within which associated professionals can work. The parameters will vary from case to case, but these when clearly indicated may be of help to persons such as valuers. When one comes down to it real estate salesmen are never wrong. They have a feel for the market and almost through self fulfilling prophesies achieve sales at their guestimates. Whether they could have achieved higher considerations become virtually academic in the process. Of course I am not suggesting that tenement valuers can be compared to real estate salesmen, or am I? What is the value of a tenement? Is it the DCF/NPV type of generated value based on a large number of variable factors (ie what one may call the fundamental value)? Or is it what another may pay to purchase that tenement if it were on the market at an instant point in time? How big is the market, the quality of the bidders, the size of their purses, the needs of the buyer for comfortable fit, the premiums for foreigners, the standard of the marketing, the industry intelligence level of the bidders, the obligation to farm/sell down? The list goes on endlessly. One question must be.asked-"Is a range of values acceptable for tax purposes". ie Would any tax consultant ever provide a valuation to the Australian Taxation Office that indicates three or more possible values ie

Metal ferrites are formed by the high temperature reaction of various metal oxides with hematite and are commonly found in the calcines derived from the sulfation roasting of zinc, copper and nickel sulfide concentrates. The Jarosite Process is designed to treat such zinc ferrites by hot acid dissolution but little information is available on the basic reactivity of various ferrites and the effect of Eh. As part of an overall study of the reactivity of calcine products from copper and nickel sulfide concentrates it has been found that Eh plays an important role in the rate of dissolution of magnetite, hematite and nickel oxide by HC1 and H2SO4. Further studies on the reactivity of pure synthetic copper,zinc,and nickel ferrites also show a dependence on Eh. This paper discusses the relative reactivity of iron oxides and metal ferrites in 1 M HC1 and the results of electrochemical studies using cyclic voltammetry. A mechanism for the dissolution reaction is proposed as well as factors which determine their leaching. It is shown that the rate of leaching of metal ferrites with HC1 is enhanced in the presence of reducing agents such as Cu(I) and Sn(II). By contrast the leaching of NiO is enhanced by oxidising agents such as Cu(II).

A field investigation by making use of the seismic method has been carried out in order to comprehend the mechanism of rockburst and gas outburst and their predictive measures. The seismometers were so arranged both on the surface and underground as to enclose a mining panel. Seismic signals detected by the array were recorded and processed by the 32-kwords computer system. At present the system is available for analysing the source location and Richter's scale of each event and for visualizing the distribution of seismic foci and released energy at any mining stage. The magnitude distribution of events can be regarded as a comparable index of the seismic activities among mining panels. An analysis of the spatial density distribution of seismic energy in the mining panel can be useful to distinguish a highly stressed zone from stress released areas. The energy released curve or the rate of energy release determined from seismic data is also a good indication of the seismicity.

Preventing injuries and fatalities related to conveyor system use in the mining industry is important and increases uptime while decreasing lost time. The research presented here is funded by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), and intended to accomplish this prevention by the use virtual environments (VEs) to improve training and help miners better understand the hazards of working around conveyor systems. Two conveyor system VEs designed to teach miners about hazards and to safely complete tasks around conveyor systems were developed for this project. The first conveyor system VE, called the instructional tour, gives the miner a semi-automated tour of a conveyor system and teaches the miner about possible hazards (eg, missing guarding) and how to safely fix conveyor problems (eg, a stuck idler) using lock-out, tag-out procedures. The second, called the virtual shift, allows the miner to freely navigate around a conveyor system to detect and avoid hazards. The miner is presented with equipment failures that need to be safely repaired during the virtual shift. If the miner fails to identify and avoid a hazard or fix a failure in a safe manner, an animation of the consequences is shown to the miner, who must start the virtual shift over. The models for the conveyor system VEs were created using 3DS Max. Desktop versions of the VEs were then created using Deep CreatorÖ, an authoring application for creating interactive 3D environments. Later, more realistic versions of the VEs were created for CAVEÖ, a room-sized visualisation system, using DIVERSE, an application programming interface. In initial evaluations of the conveyor system VEs, mining colleagues have indicated great interest in such training tools. According to their feedback, these and similar VEs would provide excellent alternatives to normal classroom training and serve as positive precursors to hands-on experience. These VEs provide new miners a chance to experience hazards associated with working around conveyor systems without being in possible danger.

In flotation, the property that is exploited to effect the separation of a mineral from an ore is referred to as its floatability. Assessment and quantification of ore floatability is of fundamental importance in modelling and simulation of flotation circuits. This paper describes the design, construction and operation of a new laboratory flotation rig that has been developed at the Julius Kruttschnitt Mineral Research Centre (JKMRC) to determine the floatability of different ores on a small-sale. The rig is designed for continuous operation. The major features of the rig are highlighted in this paper. An unique characteristic of the rig is a 9.1 L conditioning vessel. This provides a mixing regime close to plug-flow which avoids complications such as different collector coverages for similarly sized particles (which would considerably increase the complexity of ore floatability determination). The main advantages of this rig when compared to conventional batch flotation cells include better control of the chemical environment and the ability to determine froth recovery, entrainment and water recovery with increased accuracy. Preliminary tests undertaken with a high-grade lead/zinc ore from BHP Cannington are presented demonstrating the good level of reproducibility obtainable in operating the equipment.

The high gas emissions associated with the depth of mining and very high coal extraction at some Australian Collieries have provided a need to investigate the influence of geological and mining conditions on levels of gassiness. The introduction of longwall extraction in particular is associated with complex strata control problems and quick changes in gassiness. To this stage of Australian coal mining, no standard method has been developed to predict the different levels of gassiness associated with the various geological and mining conditions; and the relationship between coal output and total methane make has not been established. For local conditions, with a large number of coal seams lying in close proximity to the working seam, the significant contribution of gas emissions from adjacent strata was expected, especially as strata relaxation occurred during longwall mining. This depends mainly on geological conditions, strata control and coal production. For the deepest of the B.H.P. Collieries in the Newcastle region, the relationship between coal output and total methane make has been investigated by systematic gas balance measurement during longwall extraction. The computer method of iteration was used to approximate the mathematical equation from the initial graphs of coal production versus quantity of methane in the ventilation system for various strata conditions. The angle of caving was established for local geological and mining conditions, for planning and design of the positions of cross measure boreholes.

Rapid access longwall mining' or 'longwail punch mining' is a proposed extraction method whereby longwall gate roads are driven into a seam directly from an opencut highwall. The longwall panel thus formed is retreated back to within 40 m of the highwall providing an extremely simple, reliable and therefore highly productive longwall mining system. The concept is of particular benefit for the recovery of isolated pockets of coal (adjacent to a highwall) not easily accessible from a conventional underground mine. As panel gate roads are driven directly from the open strip, minimal delays are incurred between the end of open cut and start of underground production, allowing the method to bridge the gap between open cut mining and a total underground commitment. The study was specific to the Bowen Basin, and given the likely conditions, no significant operational or geotechnical hinderances to the concept could be identified. It was therefore concluded that longwall punch mining would not expose the operator to any additional risks above that normally associated with the introduction of longwall mining. Vatukoula, the Fijian equivalent of gold rock, is the name of the community embracing the gold mines owned and operated by Emperor Gold Mining Company Ltd., Loloma (Fiji) Gold Mines, N.L., and' Dolphin Mines Ltd. It is situated in the Tavua Goldfields approximately five miles from the northern coast of Viti Levu, the largest island of the Colony of Fiji.The climate is sub-tropical, there being a definite wet and dry season. The wet season is somewhat variable in length but usually extends from December to March, during which time most of the rainfall for the year is recorded.Although the average annual rainfall is 71 in., more than twice this amount has been recorded. Precipitation at the rate of 5 in. per hour is not uncommon and 15 in. of rain has been registered in 24 hours. The mining methods adopted, therefore, had to suit these wet conditions.The occurrence of gold in the Tavua area has been known since 1872, but it was not until 1932 that discoveries were made which led to the formation of the present operating companies. In 1934 the Emperor Gold Mining Company Ltd. commenced operations, followed in 1935 by the Loloma (Fiji) Gold Mines, N.L., and later by the Fiji Mines Development Ltd., now known as the Dolphin Mines Ltd.
