Le système Central IBM 36 emmagasine les donnees traitees par lesPLC (a travers les PC). Ces donnees sont transmisesau programme d'entretien de chaque equipement et compile les heures, cycles, tonnes, etc., fait imprimer automatiquement les feuilles d'entretien préventif ', etc.Les principales realisations adate et en progrès pour la mine Isle-Dieu sont:• automation complète du système de remblayage du concentrateur ala mine Isle-Dieu situee a2 km de la mine principale;• automation du fonctionnnement des ventilateurs qui comprendra la position des portes de ventilation, Ie chauffage, Ie débit, etc.;• automation des pompes, surveillance des sous stat ions électriques, concentration des gas (CO, SO2) à chaque niveau en tout temps et du propane à l'entree d'air frais;• tonnage et cycles par Ie treuil; et• contrôle d'autres équipernents à differénts niveaux. D'autres travaux furent egalement effectues par les employes, tels que:• la conversion d'un Scooptram ST5A de diesel à électrique;• I'installation complete de systèmes de depoussierage a I'eau (scrubber) pour le concassage secondaire;• I'installation d'un marteau hydraulique avant les concasseurs coniques;• la rénovation des cellules de flottation ; et• l'installation d'un système de gardiennage par caméra. "With Inco recording record profits over the past year, most people have forgotten the painful years of the last recession/depression when Inco was losing up to a million dollars a day for a short period . While high nickel prices have contributed to the exceptional recent profits, the real achievements stem from the tremendous advances in productivity and cost improvements that make Inco one of the lowest cost nickel producers.Some of the major advances in productivity have occurred in the mines. The establishment of Mining Research Departments in both Thompson and Copper Cliff in 1979/80 provided the stimulus and the opportunity to dedicate personnel to specific research projects, on a full-time basis; and more particularly to concentrate on the efficiency of the total mine system. The Copper Cliff North Mine was brought back into production as a research mine dedicated to the development and testing of new mining methods and equipment. A shop facility known as the ""Murray Shop"" was set up as the centre of innovation for the development and construction of prototype equipment required for new bulk mining methods. While other expenditures were being curtailed , investment in mining research was being increased. An early success was an ""in the hole"" drill that could be broken down into small components to access even the remotest sectors of a mine to convert labour intensive undercut-and-fill mining to "" vertical crater retreat "" , VCR, bulk mining. A new mine manufacturing company-Continuous Mining Systems-was incorporated with the objective of building innovative mining equipment, with strong focus on automated continuous sytems. Continuous Mining Systems has now grown to a $25 million per year business. With these synergistic thrusts, the VCR bulk mining method was implemented in all of the Ontario Division mines, raising the percentage of ore mined by bulk mining techniques from 320/0 in 1981 to over 90% today. Coupled with re-designed job responsibilities, sup- ported by appropriate training, mine productivity more than doubled. It was discovered that VCR mining could be adapted to the narrower Thompson mine ores with identical improvements in productivity. Development of the Thompson Open Pit North had an additional favourable impact on production cost s in Thompson. The timing of the open pit development could not have been better. It permitted Inco to rapidly increase production at high productivity and low cost, in years of record demand and prices."

To achieve renovation work without noise, the authors developed techniques of manufacturing pre-cut interior finishing components for renovation work. In this paper, to achieve the system of pre-cut interior finishing components, the authors describe a measuring method of reinforced-concrete structure by 3D laser scanner and then describe a method of making a design of pre-cut interior finishing components with the polygon model. Using these two methods, the steps of manufacturing pre-cut interior finishing components consist of the following four steps: First, measure the building shape using a 3D laser scanner. Secondly, integrate a point cloud data and retrieve the markings on the floor. Then, create a polygon model of the building based on the point cloud data. Lastly, make a drywall design using a polygon model. To evaluate the technique feasibility of manufacturing pre-cut interior finishing components, the authors have conducted an experiment of the finishing interior work of the drywall. Using pre-cut interior finishing components, the authors have been able to achieve interior finishing work without noise.

"While not taking issue with the general thesis expressed in Dr. Ridge's analysis of the role of genetic concepts versus observational data in ore exploration (Ridge, 1983), the criticism could be offered that the author tends to slight the importance of conceptual (i.e. theoretical) models in mineral exploration.As a general rule, observational data in science lacks significance and utility without a theoretical construct to organize those observations. Theory in turn dictates what observations are made-and which ones are judged important. Thus, for example, prior to the elaboration-and acceptance- of the current model for volcanogenic base metal deposits, the structural aspect s of these deposits were most closely observed and studied by explorationists. The nature of the enclosing rocks and any attendant alteration was given minimal attention, and certainly didn't figure prominently as an exploration guide.Similarly, the importance of alteration features to exploration for porphyry copper-molybdenum deposits was only perceived when a theoretical model was developed to account for these aspects. Indeed, many of these porphyry copper deposits were regarded as epigenetic vein deposits by geologists of an earlier era observing and examining on a different physical scale-and with a different theoretical bias.In constructing and evaluating such conceptual models, explorationists primarily rely on observation data and proximate associations; speculative thoughts as to ultimate provenance or crustal evolution clearly play a subordinate role, as Dr. Ridge argues. This, however, should not obscure the fact that concepts and theories do indeed exert a major influence in mineral exploration."

La découverte du gisement du puits Penna a nécessité une révision complète de tous les circuits du concentrateur Laronde pour permettre, premièrement, l?adaptation du procédé à la nouvelle minéralogie et deuxièmement, l'accroissement du tonnage de 1800* à 4500 t/j. Aux circuits existants de broyage, de flottation du cuivre, de cyanuration et du charbon en pulpe, les circuits suivants furent greffés : broyage semi-autogène, flottation du zinc, manutention des concentrés (épaississage, filtration, entreposage et chargement automatisé), décantation à contrecourant et précipitation au zinc, destruction des cyanures et remblai en pâte. Cet article se veut une revue des différentes étapes du projet d'agrandissement du concentrateur qui se sont effectuées par phases progressives de 1997 à 2000. De plus, une description des nouvelles technologies sélectionnées et implantées est présentée.

In 1987, John Schloen published a survey and analysis of copper electrorefining tank room data. Following this paper, a series of copper electrorefining surveys have been conducted and presented at each of the Copper-Cobre meetings over the past 20+ years (1991, 1995, 1999, 2003, 2007, 2010 and 2013). For each of these surveys, William Davenport has been key driving force in the collection and analysis of data. To honour Professor Davenport’s contribution to copper processing, a review of the data was conducted. Historic trends and possible future technologies are discussed.
