Abstract

This paper presents one of a series of digests of foreign mining legislation and court decisions that is being prepared in advance of a general report relative, to the rights of American citizens to explore for minerals and to own and operate mines in various foreign countries. This interpretation of the mining laws of British Guiana has been prepared from the best available sources in Washington and is, released subject to amplification and correction, if necessary, by United States foreign-service officials. INTRODUCTION The sources of information available in the preparation of this paper are the following: 1. The Crown lands ordinance, No. 32 of 1903, September 26, 1903.
