Abstract

WHAT IF? ?Mine closure and reclamation liabilities were fully funded -at all times from current mine revenues ?Unexpected & catastrophic events were insured ?Remediation costs could be capped ?Risk management was improved ?best practice and independent oversight ?Host communities?concerns were adequately addressed If this could be achieved within a cost-effective financial structure, this may be a solution to a complex issue for the mining industry
