Abstract

Planning and operational problems Difficulty in getting accurate geological interpretation Hard to plan work in advance Constant changes in engineering drawings and specifications Occasionally, a small stope portion requires changing the mining method from room-and pillar to shrinkage The ground has to remain stable until the entire stope is mined out A large stope portion is mined as development (30%) Frequent corrective excavation work due to dip changes Unstable and inclined working surface Frequent rehabilitation work is required
